Rock and metal didn't die, it just got some plane tickets and went overseas. Japan is freaking killing it in the metal and rock scene! I have hours of music from there and I cannot get enough. Saw Hanabie in Atlanta last year, freaking awesome!

@@sherekhanxii yes, unfortunately Ryo was dealing with some issues with his mental health, so he stepped aside. I saw the new vocalist a couple months ago when they came to Atlanta with SiM, he is pretty good, but you cannot hear the words as clearly as you can with Ryo. Ryo is probably my favorite male rock/metal vocalist from Japan, just after Masato Hayakawa of Coldrain and Manabu Taniguchi of SiM.

Hanabie (four syllables hah-nah-bee-eh, all syllables with equal emphasis) always combine humor and social commentary with heavy music. I recommend the loose trilogy of "Pardon Me I Have to Go Now", "Tousou" and "Be the Gal - Early Summer Version". A super fun band in concert too! The Japanese metal/rock scene is the best in the world currently. Lovebites, Nemophila, Band-Maid & Hanabie are all must see. Lovebites is the best metal band I've seen in decades. Oh yeah, all of these are all-female bands.
