Just finished the video and it’s very comforting knowing that you’re 28 and feel like ur behind in life compared to your friends as I am too. Graduated a couple years ago and been trying for years to pass my licensing exam in order to work in a hospital and still haven’t done so. Very frustrating knowing that I have tried 3 times and have not passed vs my friends who have done it once and did (why does the education system have to ‘validate our worth’ through exams :( ) Pls have jimmy on and do a video of him explaining his plan behind the proposal. About this feeling of being behind in life, I feel like this is so common for people in their mid-twenties. I'm 25 and currently in grad school so I'm not financially independent yet (bless my parents for supporting me), I don't have a partner (let alone am married lol) or a house, a kid, whatever. And since I grew up in a rural area, a lot of my older friends do have these things already. It's sometimes really hard to accept that your choices (for me deciding to become a teacher which is a LONG way) affect your life phases, too. But that's okay

I'm only 21 and I feel like life is just running past me and slipping through my fingers. I didn't go to college, i'm just working part time (and it already makes me anxious and tired), i can't even conquer my dreams of traveling the world because of this pandemic. It's a weird time for me BUT i think we all should try to appreciate all our days. Set goals, work for them but enjoy the process. I'm trying to do that

hey Hana if you ever happen to read this, about the feeling like you're not interesting enough and feeling like you're not keeping up with your peers, I just wanna say that I feel like you shouldn't worry about that at all! Woahhh ok hold up thats crazy. I feel like i always want to make my parents proud but then there comes moments where i stop and think about and im like why am i even doing this you know if its not for myself then i shouldn't be doing it for them just because i love them. But then i also realize most of my values and concerns have been shaped by them so also disappointing them is also like rare because everything i already do that i think is morally correct is also ok with them because again they have literally taught me all the good in their minds. Haha when you talked about your tattoo and your relationship with your mom, I could really relate. Wonder if this is a Korean mom thing. When my mom found out about my tattoo she was in a state of shock and didn’t really react as much as I expected her to. But as years went by, she became very outspoken about how much she hates my tattoo and how she thinks I should erase it. She kept on talking about how I should think about how the OTHERS would view my tattoo and how it gives unpleasant experience to them. So according to her, I was offending others (mainly her) with my tattoo. My mom also went on about how she “gave” me my body and how that gives her some amount of “ownership” over my body. I could sense an incredible amount of anger building up inside of me and my heart immediately shut upon hearing those assertions. But when i finally processed my thoughts to her reactions, I realized that there is no need for being upset or angry towards my mom - just understand how she could feel such ways. But at the same time, I need to think with my own head about what I should do with my life. No need to ask anyone, even our parents, for approval for what we’ve done for ourselves.

I just got an email from, the uni I applied to and I was rejected because my application was submitted late :( (on the website I read the wrong date, I thought that EU students had a different deadline from international students) and I'm shattered . I'm so sad and I'm beating myself up because it's my fault :( I feel so freaking lost, I am also older than your typical student (29) ... now I don't know what to do. I want to travel and work in another country but all the jobs I look for require a master or something else, if anyone has some advice on how to work abroad (teaching, or working in NGOs et similia) feel free to drop a few words :(
