BLACK AND BLUE ... the first Rolling Stones' LP record I bought. Fate amplifying now and reaps karma with your 'hot stuff' guitar sound.

Wayne played in a club in Birmingham called Crossroads I believe. The band was called Alabama Power until their first album came out then changed to Crimson Tide. His bro played drums. 1976-78. They rocked the shit. Chris Squire from Yes would come and sit in. Those were the end of the good ole days of rock n roll.

Wayne Perkins is the best solo guitar player the Stone ever had. The solo on this song was always was one of favorites. For years another guitar solo I loved was on "Worried about you". Just recently I learned that was Wayne Perkins as well.

Perkins very good but a long way from Mick Taylor.

Not close. MT by a country mile. BTW none of the soloists mean anything without the man who made it all happen Keith Richards. This song is a prime example with the epic riff
@RonnieLeeDuck3 жыл бұрын
@@flyingburritobro68 We'll have to agree to disagree because there is not way you can persuade me otherwise. But keep in mind I'm just talking Stones guitar solos in the studio. MT as a full fledged member of the Stones for a number of years obviously developed a certain chemistry with the band that had its advantages. But to me those WP guitar solos combines the best of all the other Stones guitarist (Brian Jones, MT, and Ron Wood) into one.

My favorite Stones song (and album) of the post-Jones/Taylor era. We had the album playing on repeat all the way to the show at AT&T Stadium and in the parking lot when they came to town recently but sadly they didn't play anything from it. They played Rocks Off though, which is one of my top 5 Stones songs so I can't complain. And I did get to hear Crazy Mama at Texas Motor Speedway in '97 so I'm glad to have heard them play one song from Black And Blue live. It's also the first Open G Stones song that I learned, though you're playing Wayne's standard tuning lead here I see.
