Thank you, that answered a few questions I had regarding customising bars and pegs. I have a dodgy knee which will need stretching out from time to time, so that is very useful.😊

👌 A pleasure Lilly, glad it was helpful to you. Yes my hip bothers me on longer rides, so it is great to be able to stretch it out. Really recommend some highway pegs, I think they will help with you knee a lot.

I had the same bar risers on my T100 to help with getting more bend in my elbows - was a bit of a stretch for my short arms. Like you, Gus, I find the Speedmaster very comfy, but I fitted the risers anyway and find the extra elbow bend makes it even better. Yes, you have to be a little careful that you haven't stretched the cables and that they aren't now rubbing on anything, especially at full lock left or right, but there seems to be enough flexibility to accomodate. I didn't notice any handling change, but you've put a lot of miles on your SM, so I imagine you're noticing a slight change in the way it feels. I doubt it's really made the handling 'worse', but until you get used to it, it might feel that way?
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yup they are really good risers, I am definitely pleased with them. Now that I have gotten used to them I think you might be right! Don't think they have really made the handling worse, just feels different. As you say I am so used to it being stock that it takes a while to get used to the change. Cheers

Another plus to the bar risers is that it allows a cell phone holder to be mounted on the center of the handlebars that the stock Triumph risers do not allow.
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks for that, that is a great point actually 👍 I forgot to mention that in the video! At some point I can see myself investing in a quadlock system. At the moment though my bicycle bag from Halfords is so good and useful haha

Useful info - thanks. How tall are you, and what is your inseam? It's hard to guess about comfort. If we have significantly different reach or leg lengths. I'm 5'9" on a good day (probably closer to 5'8.5") with a 30" inseam. Do the risers cause any issue with the bar hitting your legs on hard lock low-speed turns? Leg length will determine if we can even reach those highway pegs. Based on some other reviews - I think the Speedmaster is ideal for someone 5'8" to 5'11" and maybe a tiny bit cramped at 6'2" and above and perhaps a bit of a stretch below 5'6". I'd be curious what your experience is. Slightly related - it appears (from one quick side view) that you're looking over the top of the windscreen (my preference). Did you notice any difference in wind flow on your helmet? Buffeting? Noise? Ventilation?
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
👍 Thanks glad it was useful for you. I am 5'9" with a 32 inch inseam. No problem with the handlebars hitting my legs on full lock, also I would say the highway pegs are not perfect! I need to play around with the positioning a bit more. The gear lever and rear brake get in the way a bit. I agree that height range for the Speedmaster is ideal. Anything over may start to get a bit cramped. Yup I look over the screen, I personally really like it. It is not perfect as I do get some buffeting on my helmet but not enough to put me off the screen. Cheers

Hi, I've been considering the Motone risers for a while to add more comfort. Just awaiting a custom seat to be delivered first to see if I still need to try the risers. One question, are the idiot lights harder to see / obscured more with the risers fitted?
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
I am pleased with the purchase, I like the look of them and find them more comfortable to ride with. Too be honest, yes they do get in the way of the lights a bit. I find I have to dip my head a bit to see the indicators. No a massive problem though.

Have you happened to use the floorboards? I'm on the fence. I need to stretch my legs out for longer rides. Especially planning a cross country trip soon. Not sure if i should go with the dresser bars and highway pegs or the floor boards
@redangrevival Жыл бұрын
I like the looks of the floorboards, however they do limit lean angle. I think they look very comfortable though 👍
@pod-puretone4 ай бұрын
@@redangrevival Thanks for the vid - I believe the FB's add an extra 1inch lean angle which is significant for this bike. Thanks again.
@pod-puretone4 ай бұрын
@@redangrevival Basically it comes down the height of the foot-peg scrape nubs and maybe a few mm more that accounts for the added 25mm - 1 inch lean angle with the FB's

The stock bar/risers are perfect for me (6'2"), but I definitely need the highway pegs to stretch out on long rides. The crash bars from Triumph are apparently on back order even over on your side of the pond, but I'm on a waiting list with Word Of Triumph. How many melted spots do you have on your boots from the header pipes so far?
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
👍 Yup I can imagine they are good for your height. I am 5"9' so the 1 inch up and overs are great. I must have got lucky with my dresser bars, my local dealer had them in stock ready to go. Funnily enough I don't think I have had any hot spots on my boots yet 🤔 Must be our different dimensions!
@keithstewart19792 жыл бұрын
@@redangrevival I found some aftermarket bars on ebay, but thats not something I'm comfortable rolling the dice on. The footings themselves sure, but not the bars.

I just went up an inch on my bars without risers haven't really tested the feel out yet properly but forward pegs not sure I tried a Honda Shadow 1100 with forward pegs and it felt so weird of course there were no other pegs on that so a bit different I guess . Interesting stuff tho Angus cheers 👍
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 The forward pegs are purely for comfort, its nice to be able to stretch your legs out on longer journeys. Not essential though, of course! Nice, hope you like the feel of your new risers. It can take a few rides before you get used to them!!. I am used to mine now and really pleased with them. Cheers
