What do you think of the NodeX clasp? Was I a little too harsh, or is it back to the drawing board?
@noduswatches5980 Жыл бұрын
Not too harsh at all. But not back to the drawing board either. Iteration is the aim of the game for us, otherwise American brands will never innovate, especially not at this price point.

I like it, I think that they came up with a good and easy way to adjust the size on the quick.

I don't like how you can see the extension metal when it's all the way out - breaks up the flow of the bracelet and looks cheap.

Thanks for the feedback on NodeX. It was an extremely expensive and risky endeavor, as brands like ours don’t typically have a large enough R&D budget to engineer something like this. Making a novel clasp like this is an order of magnitude harder than making a watch which is why we are the first company to do it. V2.0 is already in development but we need to continue to increase the feedback loop before we invest in tooling, so this review is tremendously helpful.

I just received one with the blue dial. I'm very impressed with it. As for the NodeX, I think is pretty good solution. When the weather changes I'm sure I'll be glad to have it and adjust the length on the fly.

I will only buy a watch with on the fly adjustment if it’s going to stay on the bracelet. I think your system is good but it looks like it needs to be more rigid once it’s pulled out. I have no real issue with its looks once it’s pulled out, doesn’t look great but not too bad. The main shape and look of the clasp itself looks very good to me.

@@aussie8114 Noted. We have tightened up tolerances on V2 and will be making substantial changes for the next version. Waiting on our partners to release theirs to get some user feedback from their crowds then will enter production.

@@aussie8114 100% I've tried to overlook the lack of adjustment and I'm just never happy, I must have an on the fly adjustment.

Great looking watch. If only there was a version with no date and Miyota 9039.
@richardvacanti9428 Жыл бұрын
Nice watch overall. I absolutely agree with you on the clasp. A plain milled clasp would have been fine. But approaching $500 I think that it should have a miyota 9015 . Or a pt5000. Or maybe offer a different movement to choose from.

TBH, using a Miyota and a plain milled clasp would have saved us a lot of money and stress. But innovation doesn't come cheap!

Sad it´s 42 mm, It´s really hard to find a dive style watch with grey sunburst dial in 40mm. With a Miyota and minimalistic versatile look would be near perfection

Look into Zelos and other Nodus models.

The consensus among other reviews I've seen is that this clasp mechanism is a dud. The watch itself falls flat for me as well. Must be some diver fatigue setting in. The current market is glutted with micro divers, NH or Miyota powered. Its starting to feel a bit like the illusion of variety.
@watchreport Жыл бұрын
The microbrand scene has always been flooded with dive watches or diver style. Hell the whole thing really kicked off with the Dreadnought Diver in 2004. I will say though, I still pick and choose what to review as best I can because there are so many out there (more and more every year) that look too much a like and really have nothing to offer. I don’t necessarily put this Nodus into that category, as I know they have a large following, but I don’t think the dive watch craze will ever really die and the affordable ones will always be popular.

@@watchreport That's fair---it's no knock on you or your content. I'm consistently interested by the pieces you have in for review. I like other Nodus models, mainly the Sector range. And I love divers, but am trying to diversify my collection as of late.

@@jayeyesacks1604 completely understand. The next one up for review is the Winfield Apex, which is a field/pilot watch with a countdown timer bezel and after that is a Marloe Scepter, which is technically a diver/sea watch but very different looking, and then the Zodiac Ceramic Sea Wolf, oh and somewhere in there will be the RZE Ascentus GMT.
