I got to see Jordan Fisher as Philip/John Laurens in Hamilton a few years ago and it was the most INCREDIBLE performance I've seen (he also responded to my tweet that night and not my mom's so we have a running joke that he's my best friend) Honestly he's such a good performer and I can't wait to see where his career takes him

1:43 funny story, i went to the season reveal for the tours that are coming to my city and there was this whole like dessert thing at the end on stage (there were lots of doughnuts, it was great). and they started playing songs from rent and hamilton and stuff because those were some of the tours that were coming and i literally ran to the front of the stage and performed ‘out tonight’ full on. and nobody but my best friend noticed. it was great.

But how the show was staged and how the music told the story was forgiving. Next to Normal is just as beautiful as Rent and Dear Evan Hansen combine.

Ok first of all that is so awesome you got to attend the press conference Kat. Secondly, I would not mind Jordan for Fieryo in Wicked but maybe not Gabe in Next to Normal unless the Goodman family were reconcieved as a interracial modern suburban family. Third the one thing that surprises me about what to expect on Sunday night for the big telecast is the band live on stage instead of pre recorded playback music. Last it’s wonderful Fox has given the approval to keep most of what makes Rent a modern Broadway classic in tact. PS I would want the guitar cookie

Chris O'neill You should see more musicals if you liked Rent. Like Wicked, In the Heights, Next to Normal, Dear Evan Hansen, Guys And Dolls Which is a classic and so much more. I can’t name all contemporary musicals which making was impacted by Rent.

But I can't easily get time off work or find the disposable income to do it very often, if at all. Even living in NJ, a trip to NYC to see a show is an expensive endeavor!

@@manuelorozco7760 it was fantastic! The show was awesome, the actors are great people... and I loved the aspect of having a band that joined some scenes, instead of a more traditional orchestra. I'm also really into celtic inspired music, so they had me from the first listen of the album. Wicked and DEH are on the shortlist of shows I want to see. I'd love to see Anastasia, but don't know if I'll get there before it closes. And, if I'm being completely honest here... I wanna see Mean Girls. Lol I know there are great theatre groups and venues outside of NYC, I just have to seek them out and actually go see some shows.
