Great job taking ACTION! Really concentrate on the hips, about 80% of the golfers I see with lower back pain have tight hips, which puts a lot of stress on the lower back

Been at it for a couple of weeks now and already noticing better movement, I’m 70! Balance is still tough but I’m sure it will follow as my stability strengthens. Watched many different instructors but yours is my go to!! Thanks for sharing, cheers.

My golf game has been declining in recent years and my friend (PGA pro) give me a Tour striker smart ball to use. I'm 62 years old and it's made me realise how inflexible and stiff I've become. I'm going to give your exercises a good go. Thanks from sunny Wales.

This is exactly what I need (late 60s). In the fetal position exercise, my hand is a foot from the ground on one side and 18" on the other, plus neck mobility is even worse. Not tried the rest yet, but now I understand why I'm down to 80mph. Will be working on this, THANK YOU !

Very good and thanks to Mr Hansen. What has been most impressive is how much the standing on one leg has become. A side product has been that my back has also eased off. Not sure at my age-84 there will be an improvement to my game but do like the routine.

Today as our season is nearly over here in the Midwest, I was looking for some new exercises to add to my winter fitness program. Next spring I'll be 80 and want to shoot my age. I had two 80's this year but couldn't shoot a 79...and think is was the swaying in my swing, due to glute and core strength (or lack of)...really think your exercises will help solve my swing weaknesses, plus cut down on glute and hamstring pain. Next, I would like to see your ideas on swing speed exercises..my shots are getting woefully shorter with each passing golf year.

After age 75 you're allowed to play from the red tees. Knowing the rules helps. Had you known this, you probably would have consistently broke your age every time you teed it up for the past five years, potentially putting you in the Guinnes Book of World Records for number of times a person broke his age. You should not be punished for your age, but equalized by the adjusted tees to accommodate for lack of length at age 75 and beyond. If you're breaking your age today, it's probably because you have an excellent short game and good overall matured and seasoned course management skills, which distance aside, says to me you're easily good enough from 150 in to be a PGA Tour player. Now let us pray for the adjustment so you can move forward in your noble quest to make this age breaking event a paradigm shift for the four minute miler in all of us. Thanks.
@jesterbee
@jesterbee 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I play from the senior tees and have for a few years. But my distance issues doesn’t create many greens in regulation. You are right tho, i work very hard on pitching, chipping and putting. Your exercises are key to keeping my flexibility. Thanks again for your program.

I wanna caddie for you on the day you break your age. Can you meet me in Pinehurst?
@HansenFitnessForGolf
@HansenFitnessForGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jess. The main reason I see older golfers lose distance is lack of balance and mobility on the lead side. Many times the swing is slowed down before impact because of the lack of balance and mobility. Strength can also be an issue when applying the breaks after impact. These are all good things to focus on this off-season. Best of luck to you and I am happy you are finding value in our programs.

Would these be ok for someone with spinal stenosis
@HansenFitnessForGolf
@HansenFitnessForGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Mike, let me preface this by saying I am not a doctor and don't know the severity of your stenosis. I do know that getting more hip and thoracic mobility along with glute strength will take a ton of stress off the lower back during the swing. Like anything when it comes to exercising, listen to your body, if the exercise causes increased pain, it's probably more harm than good. To answer your question, yes they would help as long as they don't cause more pain for you.

The best thing to do is listen to your body. You can stretch daily, but when you are building muscle it is best to let them recover. 48-72 hours after is a good benchmark, the soreness will subside if you keep at it. Also, drink a lot of water, it will help with recovery

Question from a stiff 60 year old….how often should you look to do these exercises and should you do all of them in one session.
@HansenFitnessForGolf
@HansenFitnessForGolf 4 ай бұрын
You want to develop a routine to do them everyday, but you don't want to set yourself up for failure. So, the easy answer is to try and do them as often as possible. Yes, you can do them all in one session.

When I do your first back stretch, I can feel it pull at my left hip. Will this eventually stretch out or should I do something else? Thanks.
@HansenFitnessForGolf
@HansenFitnessForGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott. Yes, it will get better with consistency. The muscles connect from the arm to the hip and you will feel it where you are tightest. It is very common to feel it in the hip. Keep up with the stretch and it will start to feel easier and then let me know because I have a way to make it a little more difficult.

Do these at lease 3 times a week. The body has to get used to them as it resists change, but over time it slowly lets go. Be patient. Better to spend 10 minutes in a session 3 x a week then a half hour once every 3 weeks LOL
