These ladies represent their religion so well. I know nothing about Muslim or being one but their talks are starting to make me think there must be something great there because of these ladies.

there are definitely gems within the religion and the community, these women are great. but also no community is perfect and as they have said in their previous videos there are lots of problems in our community we ignore and brush under the rug but its the freaking elephant in the room and everyone knows its there.

My X wife told me that I don't make her happy . I explained to her that she has to find her own happiness. I can make you smile , tell a joke , take you out for dinner but that's not where you're going to find your happiness. If you're constantly following behind someone waiting for them to drop a piece of their happiness so that you can pick it up , that's never going to happen.

imaslowlerner you sir did what you could and that is all you can do. happiness in this life has become a tarnished concept. Happiness for Muslims means we know for a fact that we are walking on a Path that leads to Allah and that we will be satisfied if He is pleased with us. But the actual feeling of pleasure, lack of anxiety, lack of sadness, and everything we can associate with « happiness » has nothing to do with the higher state we should be aspiring to. I have a clinical condition that messes with my brain chemicals and hormones, a condition solely attached to the body and not who I inherently am, but my core as a soul and human is joy and bliss because all I care about is to Know Allah. And I know His path is the straight path. My point is, sometimes we think that happiness can be found in things or people but that becomes a mere distraction for what is fundamentally more important: His satisfaction with us. And I cannot begin to tell you how that is a thousand times better. I hope we all understand this one day because this way, life trials become absolutely bearable and meaningful.
@ruthtruthinireland5 жыл бұрын
Happiness is transient, just like grief, anger, disappointment etc... just like Aliyah said, it can not be found in people or things. Of course there are people who will bring us much joy and happiness... but these same people have the capacity to bring us much sadness and heartache. There are several definitions of happiness... contentment, a sense of well being, a sense of peace... but you can have a sense of peace even though your circumstances are NOT good. As Muslims, when we focus on our Salah (even on the days when Salah seems SO hard to do) we can have a mind set that says " I trust you Allah, my life is tough, I feel lost but I trust you " , and this is enough. We live in a world that screams at us to "be entertained, give me things, give me status, distract me, make things easy" and we have lost a very basic disposition of being human... NOT ALL TIMES IN OUR LIVES WILL BE GOOD, PRODUCTIVE, AMAZING, SUCCESSFUL... Sometimes the "dark night of the soul" is where we need to be to regroup and refocus and go back to basics. You know, some days I feel ALL I can do is breathe... I don't even know how to organise the thoughts in my brain... I can even be TOTALLY blank.... TOTALLY. Thank you all for sharing this, it's a very important topic... not the achieving of happiness but the chosing to be content within the trials and to live in reality... to draw back the curtains of "striving to get to the better place" because we can MISS so much and waste SO much time AND worse, we can overlook what Allah Subhanuhu wa ta'ala wants to teach us.

what I realised from my life experience and - I could be wrong - is that, social life does contribute to one's happiness. I realised when I was in Africa with difficulties and hardship life, we had so much social life, our doors were open for each other in the community. poor life but more happiness I experienced back then. what I wished back then which I thought was going to make me perfectly happy and more happy, I got them in my adult life however the happiness wasn't present. that's why they've introduce this social media network for happiness but still can never be compared to the social life I had as a child. I came to believe that you're either "poor" with social life or "rich" with no social life.

I must say I was a bit disappointed. Sumayyah does not display in this talk the level of maturity that I expect from her, she comes out more like a young teenager bedazzled by the big world of politics, diplomats, best hotels, glamor of the rich and famous... it's understandable to be grateful to Allah for healing her after the loss of a baby by events that happen afterwards, but all these wows and wows and dozens of it was amazing it was amazing and how much she was impressed with the glitzy world she happened to be in.... yes it's all fine and dandy for a young person to enjoy it, but not be in the seventh heaven because of it, oh no... especially after.... and especially not for a pious woman....

For me, i think that happiness exists in this life as well as in the Akhirah.Because we know how it feels and that's why we are in search for it.But the difference is that it doesn't last forever in this Dunya. Secondly, happiness is found through Allah, through his obedience, through his worship, through all that's pleases Him.And yeah, through being positive about life and about people's behaviors towards you.Through being forgiving, being loving and being caring regardless of how cruel the world around you might be.There might be hard times but that's where patience is required, so no problem cuz it's not gonna last forever.Hope in God works wonders too! These are emotions and emotions come and go it should not be the goal...personally I seek contentment and Allaah gives that to whom HE pleases. It is HOW we choose to take things...you can be positive or negative...you can give ithers the benefit of the doubt or assume the negative. We have to make the conscious choice to be positive and have a good opinion about Allaah and what we face from 1 day to the next...and Allaah knows best. Jazakillaahu khayr great talk

Espically when one of you sisters mentioned on an earlier video about how she hugged her father for the first time at 21! I thought I'm the only one dealing with this sort of incompassion. I enjoy listening to these discussions...even if I disagree with some of the points...because here I feel like the difference between a Muslim's perception of happiness and a non-Muslim's is that even if we are not constantly striving for it- because we believe that we must earn it- when it comes our way we can feel as though we have done something right to deserve it. With hardship comes ease, as it says in the Qur'an- there might be many times of hardship and difficulties, but Allah will always give you the small moments of happiness and peace. That is at least how I see it.

We will have happiness in this life but we need to seek for meaning in this life and by this way we create happiness in other’s life! A happiness can be a small thing as a watching a new movie. We should not chase for happiness, we should seek meaning . I agree happiness is found in a moment!

Love seeing women like this. Women being like this. Instead of promoting narcissism..these sisters talk about the real deal. Sincerity is everything..if people would know this..and be it. Practice it every day..we would have more happiness in this world. But integrity and true sincerity is hard to find. But I want to give these sisters props..for at least a drop of realness in the drop of this pool of fakeness. I believe 90% of humans arent strong enough..dont know themselves enough to be able to even handle the internet. I have even removed whatsapp. Since many people abuse it..even close family! They feel after sending a hollow sentence..that they have made contact..it is not. And months go by like this and years. I have been ill and alone..and no one of 3 sisters have come visited me now for years. It is insane. Thats why people in villages are more happy..thats one of the reasons..sincerity and more.true connections. In villages they are aware of one meal.. here we hurry up making the meal nowadays. With tv on..phone etc. People are good at fooling themselves..manipulating themselves so well. ..

It can be the ability to have fun with yourself by changing looks, may be the feeling of being beautiful you get from it or anything else. I don't wear makeup but it would actually be very superficial and ignorant of me to think that love of make up is superficial. Just make sure that the feeling you get from it doesn't come from a place of insecurity where you think you can fit in better or be more acknowledged by the people surrounding you with makeup. I think Happiness is the way u think of Allah, they way u think of any situation u might be because Allah says in Hadith Qudsi 'I am What my servants thinks of me' if u thinks things will be terrible all the time, then it means u are thinking bad of Allah. And one of the things i learned from the wise saying of scholars is that worrying and being sad will never change any situation you are in u rather need to think logical and start praying ..I know sometime it might be difficult not to be unhappy ..but being unhappy can't change any situation.. I always say that to my self. and we have a lot of teachings in Islam that help us to be happy. The scholars say the amount of Qur'an u read that's the amount of happiness u get. When the prophet(s.a.w) was in the cave with abubakar(r.a) He said to abubakar 'Don't be sad Allah is with us'. So any Muslim out there who might be unhappy or sad I want to tell them the same thing 'Don't be sad Allah is with us did he not say it in Qur'an that He will be with the believers? So think good of Him and don't be unhappy or sad this dunia in few days we going to depart soon so be patient Oh believers just a little more is remaining.The nature of the world is that one day it will be for u and other days they will be against u.' I have not even discovered you sisters names! My daughter turned our family chat group (spans 3 generations of women) on to your videos and I have been so fascinated with the topics that you explore. I want to thank you for representing an informed Islamic point of view with modern educated input. I have gotten weary at times, trying to open the minds of my granddaughters who are village indoctrinated, but were U.S. naturalized citizens - basically used to bring husbands into the country. * all but one, seems to be happy marriages, even though freedom of choice/movement is greatly restricted. I am African American, and married a village man 43 yrs ago in the U.S. we added children to a brood that he and my co-wife had been raising in their village. Our U.S. born and educated children did travel to the village both as children and as adults, but I never left them long enough to grow accustomed to the rhetoric. So these are my allies in the task of showing their older sisters and nieces the way to live as Muslimahs here holding onto what is deen, but seeing what is purely cultural and not of the Qur'an and sunnah. * Both religious and secular education was curtailed at marriageable age.

Of course there is happiness in dunya; it is in our mindsets. If you see the negatives only then you will never be content or happy. In our religion we are encouraged to be positive and be content. God does not want us to be miserable. And, when trials hit us you can find peace ans acceptance by remembering that all is temporary. I think a better word for happiness is peace and contentment. Isnt that why we say 'peace be upon you'. May Allah give you all sakina, selaam, and the gift of finding joy in small things and moments. And, don't worry; we are all in good hands. Just relax, smile and be positive. Hang in there, sisters!

We don't need to be miserable here and judge others , happiness can be experienced in Dunya too in different way ( halal way). Happines can be for few hours and maybe just a moment. This is my first time watching you ladies and Alhamdulillah I really enjoyed this talk. In my opinion there is definitely a level of happiness that can be reached in this world, however,the ultimate happiness is reserved for the akhirah. Finding happiness in this world all depends on your relationship with Allah and realizing that everything good and bad comes from Him and that He puts you in a unique situation FOR A REASON and if you walk through it with Him He will lead you to happiness. Focusing on your Allah and the reasons we are even here on this earth places everything in perspective and you are able to view life for what it is without having unrealistic expectations. I agree with meditation being key in that you should take time out to ponder on Allah and His creation and the mercies He has bestowed upon you whatever your situation. These things strengthen your reliance on Him and nearness to Him which leads to a friendship with your lord that is priceless and this is the key to happiness inshaAllah.
