Happy new year Kate from my mustard yellow sofa that coordinates so well with your lime green. I’ve decided to join you on Patreon for the new year. I believe in the joy of creativity, the freedom to make things that bring you pleasure, add brightness and color to life, to enrich those around you with your being and to break the rules. I stopped quilting because of the many rules but seeing your work reminds me of the pleasure it brings. So for now I make little mug rugs for birthdays for the coffee and tea drinkers in our family. The hand quilting gives me great pleasure.

When I find it difficult to get out of bed some days, I find myself watching the drawer tidying videos. I love all the things you love. I also have a carder and a spinning wheel. I have a friend with 150 sheep. I got 5 fleeces last fall from her and Ive Ben processing them. We washed and dyed the wool together. Then I picked and carded and spun at home. We have a blast. I crochet a single crochet around the roving to make a rug. I’ve made several. I just don’t have enough hours in the day to be able to do all my hobbies! How in the world do you fit filming and editing in with all your delicious hobbies?

I was watching some of your older episodes and came across you doing the weaving course in Scotland. Since then I've taken up Weaving and feel like I've come home. I love it. I want to tell you how happy I am to find your channel! Thank you for sharing and doing it in such a caring way. I feel like I'm sitting down with you and you're chatting with me. It has been so inspiring. I have recently started working on making quilts and find I get bored quite quickly, therefore I am working on several projects at one time and rotate from one to another. I just today received 300 paper hexagon and have started putting material on them. It's quite fun and I find I am enjoying doing it while watching t.v. too. I only just discovered the Last Homely House earlier this year in the springtime, when I was searching for some sort of tutorial on English Paper Piecing for hexagons, and discovered the video of Agnes's Quilt having its paper pieces removed, which then led me to your tutorial on how to do EPP. It opened up a door that has taken me on quite a journey of discovery and inspiration, and whenever I have watched any of the videos I always feel as if I have spent some quality time with a good friend - and sometimes her family members too. Thank you Kate, for spending time with us on the Lime Green Sofa and sharing your knowledge and experience - and I look forward to seeing more patchwork videos and watching the progress in the Last Homely Garden. I'm a bit jealous of the pond and its cabin, and the thought of sitting on the deck with that beautiful view beyond, while Eileen the Goose "swans around" happily on the water.
