This is honestly the biggest change I’ve made in my life this year after losing my job, health insurance and subsequently my therapist. And it wasn’t easy but it gets easier to give yourself grace the more you do it and practice it. It’s the #1 way I’ve helped to quiet my anxiety.

I have this too, though for me it’s more like an inner narrator and an inner critic. I noticed that the inner critic always thinks as if it’s a second person. So it’d be “You look like crap today” or “You’ve really let your body go to shit.” The inner narrator is more matter of fact, and thinks in first person, like “I’m doing a little better than last time” or “Ah my knee is kind of hurting, I should get that checked out.” Or “Did I forget to take my medicine today?” It helped a lot to realize this because now I know whenever I’m thinking “you” statements I can safely ignore them.

not really the point of the video, but if you're trying to exercise more and it just doesn't work and you end up telling yourself you're lazy and undisciplined and whatnot, there's a good chance you just haven't found the *right* kind of exercise for you yet. Your friends or the media might be telling you that running, swimming or weight lifting are the best, but you don't have to do those. the great thing is, ANY form of exercise is good for you. you just have to find it.

I do not apply, because I'm a perfectionist, and not be able to complete the application anyways, or it's crap, and then I'm scared, they have my name and address and next time I apply they know, I'm not good enough. So I don't even try. 😢
