I last knitted baby blankets 24 years ago when I had my last born. I have been suffering from back pain for a long time until I had to quit my nursing job that I loved so much, I feel I can't go reading nursing journals all the time let me revive my other dormant passion which is knitting, crocheting baby blankets, knitting and sawing. Long time ago before I studied nursing I did some dress cutting and designing that is 30 years ago. Skills never leave you, now they have been awakened lol. Thank you for your patience in teaching beginners

Love the children's knitting needles. It's lovely to think a that there are children using them to learn a life long amazing hobby.

This is the first fancy stitch I've tried and I struggled for a long time until I found your video. You do a great job of explaining and then showing what it looks like while you're stitching and after you knit. I often find it hard to follow things without explanation. Thanks so much!

Laura, this may be one of those questions that make us groan, apolgies in advance. I can't/don't follow your knitting videos because the knitting I have barely learned is the Norwegian style. Just for fun, only for the laughs, I would so much enjoy seeing an experienced knitter try to grasp the Norwegian/continental style. And for the absolute best laugh, I would like to see you try to follow Arne of Arne snd Carlos. Never seen anyone knit or crochet so quickly as Arne. This is a substantial departure from your usual work, but I think it would be great fun, very human, and create a sense of us all struggling through together. Then, of course, afterward, you will be expected to return to your regular style. I did try crocheting left handed earlier this year, thus I think such challenges are so good for the brain! Thanks for reading, and hopefully considering. Mind I am not asking for change, just for a laugh. This pattern is beautiful, would be nice to grasp knitting. I just ALWAYS drop stitches and don't know how to recover. I find crochet more forgiving. Would love to do both, well!

Thank you for your clear explanation and video! I must say, though, this stitch seems much too fiddly for me! After 4 rows I can't imagine doing any more! Maybe my yarn is less than ideal for this, but I'm going to look for another texture knit to substitute, because these P3togs are too much for me! 😂

So.... multiples of 4, + 1. I think you can actually make the knits sts at beginning and end the edge stitches. The first knit row is the right side of the work, and it is repeated for row 3. It is a 4 row repeat. The double p3tog with a yarn over, k1, happens on the wrong side and is placed between the clusters 2 rows below on subsequent pattern rows. To bind off, I would do it on the right side, or when starting the knit row. Nice video and the stitch creates a slightly lacy pattern, very nice.

I think I'll do a square of this in craft cotton to make a dishcloth. Not very exciting I know but an (old) girl needs dishcloths. I found a (relatively) cheap Bosnian style crochet shop on ebay (this is in Feb '23) at £7.99. It's plastic - my first go at it wasn't very pleasing and I undid it. Mind you I was using yarn I had unwound from a knitting project I decided I didn't like so I may have been putting myself at a disadvantage to start with. I'll try with 'fresh' yarn I think.

Thank you for the lovely, helpful tutorial! I tend to knit quite tightly and especially when doing the 3 stitch purl. Do you have any advice on how to knit more loosely? I'm using 4mm needles. 🌻

So... try to pull up on each stitch after making it, it gives a little extra on each stitch. And, let the yarn slip thru your feeding hand once you draw the loop up and through.

I want to use this pattern for a baby blanket. I want the blanket to be 46 to 48 inches square, and I want a border. I am making this for my friend in Germany who is due in December with her second child that I learned today is a girl. Therefore, I want pink baby yarn, and small needles, but I don't know how to match up yarn size to needle size, or vice versa. Could you help me with this, and suggest a pretty border? BTW, I ❤ your tutorial. You have a clear speaking voice, and you explain things well. I'm in Virginia, USA.

I am going to do this in a scarf but I would like to know, I want to add two stiches, knit stitch on front and end so the sides are clean and straight. Thoughts? I think a purl stitch though since it's a knit row in-between the pattern rows.

@steviolacimoci45193 жыл бұрын
Can i ask something? The pattern is 1knite and 3 purl right? So we need 4 every pattern. So the total of basic knit must be multiple of 4 and plus 1? Am i right? So must be 12 + 1 Or 16 + 1 20 + 1 24 + 1 .....

I'm just learning and have done a cable stitch. I have done this type of stitch in crochet so I thought this would be fun and not hard. Boy was I wrong! I've had so much trouble with it! I've ripped it out and started over 3 times already and it still doesn't look nice. Guess I'll use it as a dish rag. Knitting is not very nice to me and s much harder than crochet! I'm pulling my hair out but I will keep trying!

How many rows of four or do you do four then one and four again. Confused
@debbieb71197 күн бұрын
You cast on 4, 4, 4, 4 as many times as you want for width then add 1 exta stitch add the very end =multiples of 4 + 1.
