The unique bubbles idea is a Godsend for me. I bought 16 jars of cheapo Flash paint from India and it's really bubbly; the simethicone works great in getting rid of them! It's thick too, and I thin it with Floetrol. THANKS!

Hi. I have some Artesa really nice acrylic paints that are a bit too thick and leave peaks. I got some floetrol but I am not sure how to use it. Could you please give me any pointers?thanks so much!
@kathleenhanser3889
@kathleenhanser3889 4 жыл бұрын
@@kassandrakid9440 I'm not very scientific about it. I put some floetrol in a smaller container (someone suggested a plastic ketchup dispenser and I'm going to get one) and just add a bit at a time, testing as I go, until the peaks are gone. I do the whole paint bottle at a time or I mix up a little in one of those small snap-top or screw-on containers. If you should make it too thin, you can always add gloss gel medium. I hope it works for you.

@@kassandrakid9440 I haven't used floetrol but I just suggest you use it sparingly and experiment with consistency until you get the effect you want. 😊

How can you preserve the paint in your pallet for projects that you may work on over a few days? Any thoughts on how to keep the paint from drying in your pallet?
@HappyDottingCompany
@HappyDottingCompany 4 жыл бұрын
Put some wet kitchen paper at the bottom of a shallow tupperware dish. When you're ready for a break from painting put your paint palette in the tupperware container just sitting on top of the wet paper and put the lid on. The humidity in the container will stop your paint from drying out - lasts a few days. 😊

Hi Sandy, yes I find that both pouring medium and a water based varnishes can work well to thin paint. I do think you need to be careful to not overdo the pouring medium; otherwise risk paint wanting to run or dots joining together with small dots. :)

Hi Noremac, yes I always paint the background. This is also important for when you make a mistake - clean up the area of the mistake with an earbud - allow to dry - touch up with more background paint - allow to dry - then start that area again. Thank you, Anjela 😊

@@noremac4807 Hi. I don't routinely put a coat over the basecoat before painting, however some do. If you use a clear spray matte sealer over the basecoat it can make it easier to erase the chalk marks that's been used for guidelines. Thank you, Anjela 😊

Hi, I bought some of the gel to thicken up my paint but when I make a dot, it ends up being pointed and not nice and puffy. How do I get puffy dots???
@HappyDottingCompany
@HappyDottingCompany 8 ай бұрын
There’s particular drops for puffy dots eg Nuvo drops that are straight from the bottle. However when using your own paint mix you really have to layer (load up each dot) and work the dot into a perfect shape eg with a stylus. It’s not easy and certainly don’t recommend for beginners. Watching @artofpoints you’ll see what I mean 😊

In regard to getting rid of bubbles in paint.......take a matchstick and cut off the red bit that burns and discard. Gently put the other end into your ear canal and collect a teeny bit of earwax on the end. Touch that end with the wax to each bubble and the bubble instantly disappears. This method has been used by monks for literally hundreds of years, when illuminating manuscripts and I have used that method myself for the last 35 years as a Calligrapher.......
