I love how ghost has changed to fit the persona of their "new" singer. Papa I was serious and religious based and had an older feel, with a singer with an older age, Papa II was more metal with covers with some religious tones, but getting more modern with a younger man, and the youngest Papa III is seen out of his robes and his ghouls even dress out, and Papa III has more of a modern mixed with metal feel, and now The Cardinal, he's an older guy with a taste for 80's music and Prequelle definately shows that! Amazing.

I love how all their songs are about the devil.....as someone who grew up in a super religious household, I love all the religious symbolism, and the rebellion of it all....people say these guys aren't really Satanists, but if they're not, they certainly do a good job of faking it because this music is like for real spiritual and heavily moving....a beautiful acknowledgement of the shadow that exists inside us all, the carnal one, the animal, the magician, the witch.....I've waited my entire life to hear something like this.....so thanks

I think they're not really satanist but i'm not saying that as a critique, quite the opposite. My belief is that satan is a symbol of rebellion in their song without spiritualism. Art, very meaningful and of the highest quality from amongst the very best on our beloved dirt. Maybe i'm projecting even though i don't believe so, as i'm an atheist but love demons as a symbol of rebellion, as a critique of religion, for what went wrong both in it and through many other ways in society.

@@GBS4893 I don't disagree with you, actually....my feelings about God, the devil, angels, demons, everything in between...is that it's all emotionally tangible...and emotion surpasses all rules, or traditions, or doctrines...no matter what you're told, no one can change how you truly feel....and if you can feel the swell of your soul inside you when you experience something that touches it, that is the essence of the universe nonatter what name we give it or don't give it....there's so much to know that we can never even begin to know....I find comfort in the mystery 💙

i actually like this version so much more for this song, it fits so much i think. The emptiness from the lack of the other instruments and the tone of the guitars feels really melancholic and gives the song a nice tone. Also acoustic solo UGH.
@saintsweetsubs Жыл бұрын
i agree, it feels kinda more personal this way too? idk the melancholic tone makes it feel like he singing directly to me, in a pitying tone if that makes sense; like the original sounds like he’s gloating or taking pride in what he’s doing, but this one feels a little sad for the ‘daughters’ he’s singing about. at least that’s how i interpret it.

This was absolutely fantastic...Tobias and the Ghouls cant play that any better than they did on this recording. I could listen to it over and over again.....His voice on this was superb!!!
