I wish Noctua collaborations would be for products I would actually buy. The non-Noctua Seasonic 1.6 kW power supplies are $CDN 695 ($US 530). Too much money for more capacity than I can possibly use. Conversely, the Asus-Noctua RTX 3080 was not high-end enough.
@LordAngelus7 ай бұрын
I will never buy anything Noctua due to the buttugly brown colors. I don't even obsess over aesthetics but man oh man is their stuff UGLY!
@gitmoes79855 ай бұрын
I think the issue here is picking a device that has a shelf life. They may have started development closer to when the 3080 was more relevant and then by release it was late. Conversely they probably tried to pick a PSU that is overkill for ANY build so they don’t have the issue of it becoming irrelevant anytime soon. That obviously comes with the huge downside of it being ridiculously expensive and pointless, but at least they can sell it longer 😂
@ronstewtsaw5 ай бұрын
@@gitmoes7985 Good comments. I confess that I was wrong, though when I said I could not possibly use the power of a 1600 W power supply. I could have a 20A circuit installed in my office which might work depending on the power factor of the PSU, or I could have the room wired for 220V. Should have typed "reasonably." Anyway, I still am enough of a fanboy to spend extra for Noctua - but it has to be a desirable product on its own merits.

If we have reached this point we eliminate the screen and play directly on the PC. fewer cables, less consumption, more comfortable. What are the screens for is turning into the first place aesthetics fair as always, and I've really seen very little INTERESTING stuff. It's probably got things to do with cost, the fact that internal viewable cases are something that feels like its a more recent trend (as in last 10 years) so coloured internals didn't really matter, and also just that the general aesthetic for pcs has been the clean office/professional colour palette of monotone colours.
