Got one and it's amazing! EDIT: I had a problem with mine. The VRAM ran extremely hot, often reaching 106 degrees when gaming and the fans ramped up to max to stop the overheat and rendering or mining (or any highly punishing activity to the memory made it thermal throttle instantly). Overall, it's quite a simple fix, just replace the rubbish white putty (sad excuse of thermal pads) with some decent 2mm ones (mine are thermal grizzly) and the card is good to go again. Just disappointed that they cheaped out on it, although the average pure gamer will most likely not run into these issues. Just the people with workloads that punish the memory.

I have a power consumption question. I wanna buy an RTX 3080 GPU and I am currently using the GTX 1060 6GB model. What will be the kWh difference when I make this change?
@Battleneter4 жыл бұрын
About 1kWh extra for 5 hours of "very solid" gaming, with desktop activity KZbin and browsing etc about the same as your gtx 1060. You can undervolt the 3080's saving about 70watts at load for only the loss of a few fps, in fact I recommend doing that.

I've got this card and its great. However, one of the power pins was bent and the pcie power connector wouldn't insert, I had to bend it back with some tweezers. ngl I was shitting myself, I felt incredibly lucky getting it, only to be hit with the possibility of having to return it for a replacement... It's just a bit of conductive metal though so I'm not worried... 4 year warranty too, cant go wrong.

Do you mind sharing the first 4 digits of the serial number (year + week of production)? Gigabyte has claimed that cards produced on and after week 39 have fixed power connectors.

hi guys i'm just curious - in my country (philippines) rtx 3080's are going for +1100 USD. once availability is normal next year, do you think prices will come down, or are gpus simply expensive in my neck of the woods?

1:26 Founders edition looks so much more elegant and beautyful compared to partner models. Just an observation in the end I will choose better performing card over good looking, mostly when it comes to noise and temperature in this generartion - ampere dosn`t overclock very well.

FE cards this time around and 20 series FE cards are aimed to be eye candy I believe. To be able to justify price shifts. Now you may say that prices are low this time around compared to 20 series, though I doubt that they will stay as low as advertised. Let's see what AMD does.

As an Aussie, I feel you should mention that the pricing landscape here is very different, wit this model being one of the more pricey ones for an "entry level" AIB offering. I get that you have to appeal to an international audience, but the sticker price here for your fellow Aussies prices this card several hundred dollars above the supposed $1139 that the non-existant founders card was supposed to cost.

The Gigabyte Eagle is the Entry level model, the Gaming OC is mid level model, however yes still over priced.

Everyone is worried about the caps on the back but, never consider the other amount of ceramic capacitors that surround the caps. Gigabytes card is loaded. The back of the GPU has plenty of ceramics. So, i wouldn't be worried about this card.
@Battleneter4 жыл бұрын
lol I know, I looked at the Gigabyte pic many times and never clicked, but obviously the capacitor issue was busted by drivers anyway.

What's up with the lack of 1080p benchmarks? According to Steam stats from September of this year, 65.49% of users are on 1080p and roughly 10% of users are playing at 1440p or greater.
@braendo4 жыл бұрын
And those 65% don't have a 700$ gpu. Most of those guys probably have anything between a 1050 and a 1070/2060s (in performance)
@SenatorBanana4 жыл бұрын
@@braendo So by your logic this video is only for people with a $700+ card?
@TITANpwn4 жыл бұрын
because this card is the same as a 2080 or 2080ti at 1080p, because 1080p is no longer hard to run and most modern cards are limited by the CPUs and already break hundreds of FPS. There's no point.

At conclusion I think you forgot that the PCB is not reinforced so, with that 1kg weight of heatsink that might be a problem. As you've mentioned earlier. Granted if you get a support for the card or mount it in horizontal case it wouldn't really be a problem, still I'd be second guessing the buy.
@choatus4 жыл бұрын
is not an issue, I have this card, does not sag at all and no flex, card is very well constructed, if you are still worried you can always buy a bracket to reinforce it they are really cheap.
@Battleneter4 жыл бұрын
Its not an issue, there is zero sag with this model without a support, I seriously doubt it will sag over time, it seems very rigid and well built.

As an Australian youtube channel, can you discuss a bit about the aussie market RTX 3080 pricing? Why those AIB are a lot more expensive than MSRP?
@Battleneter4 жыл бұрын
Agreed, this Gigabyte model should be around AU$1300 once you covert the $ and add GST, but its usually found for AU$1600+. This is a the "Normal" for the ANZ markets, it would be nice to identify who exactly who is creaming it.
