For those who have read the books, I love when reactors ask about who cooks, cleans during the feasts and they assume it's just magic, while we just sit here. Also, one of my favorite things in the book that they didn't show in the movie was Fred and George used to enjoy in the winter time bouncing snowballs off the back of quirrell's head. They were actually hitting Voldemort in the face with snowballs.

Yes Argus Filch is the guy who plays Walder Frey in GOT that has all the daughters that hosts the Red Wedding. Also the guy that sells Harry his wand is the guy in Alien that has that alien burst out of his chest. The casting throughout all the movies in this series is spectacular.

Just so there is no confusion, Harry does not have Voldemort’s wand. Ollivander explained that Harry and Voldemort’s wand was made from the same core which are the Phoenix feathers. There was only two wands ever made that had these Phoenix feathers from the same Phoenix. Harry’s and Voldemort’s. So that’s why it was “curious” that Harry’s wand was destined for him when Voldemort’s wand, that had the same core, was the wand that tried to kill him.

This is awesome. You guys are about to embark on a journey that you don’t even realize. These films grow so much as they go along because the kids get older and you really understand the depth of their characters. As a sidenote, you will notice in the third film. The actor who plays Dumbledore is different, and that’s because Richard Harris, who was originally cast as Dumbledore tragically died shortly after the filming of the second movie. But they were able to replace him with the great Michael Gambon.

I misremembered this first bit of trivia and someone thankfully corrected me in the comments - this first fun fact is actually NOT from the first film, it's from the THIRD film, when the role of directing was handed over to Alfonso; the details are still the same. And check the comments under this one, the person who corrected me has a little extra detail on the essays. No matter what, Rupert Grint is still a legend.] Some trivia I remember from the special features on the first DVD, about how perfect the casting is for our main three: the director Chris Columbus asked them to write an essay about, their characters I believe, with a page number limit - nothing too lengthy, just an exercise to understand the roles they're playing. Daniel (Harry) wrote the essay exactly as required, Emma (Hermione) wrote well above the page limit, and Rupert (Ron) didn't turn his in. When Chris approached Rupert and asked why he didn't complete the assignment, Rupert answered that he didn't think Ron would have done the homework. True to form for all three. Additionally, you can look up the adorable press conference with all three kids and they're asked what they're going to do with their first paycheck. Daniel (Harry) responds that he hadn't thought about it and wasn't sure... Emma (Hermione) gives a very well-informed answer that she'll invest hers or put it in savings... and Rupert (Ron) replies that he frankly doesn't understand why they're paying them in Muggle money and not Wizarding money. 😂😂😂

The eight movies go through them growing up the grades in Hogwarts. It get darker as they grow to teenagers as Voldemort plots his return. More characters are introduced. The students spend 7 years at Hogwarts, so there's a book/movie for each year (except the last, which is split into 2). The introduction to magic you get in the first movie is just the tip of the iceberg! Over the course of the series you learn a LOT about magic, but also about the larger wizarding world, the adults/professors' pasts, and the carreer paths wizards and witches can choose to go into after they graduate from Hogwarts. All the students can do magic, and they all learn basic spells/skills (kind of like reading, writing, and basic math for us), but each child also has their own individual talents and proclivities. You see some of that during their first flying lesson. As soon as Harry says, "Up!", the broom leaps into his hand. The book is written from Harry's POV, and although he'd been studying magic in classrooms for a couple of weeks he hadn't stood out. But the moment that broomstick lept into his hand was his first experience of magic as more than simply knowledge and skill, but an artform. I don't think he ever took another flying lesson. He didn't need to, because he knew how to fly already. Whereas poor Hermione was hopeless at flying a never did learn. For her, that flying lesson was the first time she realized that not all magic can be learned from a book.

As many times as I watch movies, it still amazes me how I'll notice more when watching a reaction. My guess is I'm NOT caught up in the film itself and tend to see things separately. In this case the beginning has Harry going to the Reptile house (to make the Parseltongue reference) but I never noticed all the green clad students (Slytherin reference).

Welcome to the Wizarding World! There is so much to unpack, and so much to share...almost too much. These stories will be quite challenging as there will be questions that you have now that will not be answered until the last film. They will also get darker and more complex as the kids grow older, so prepare yourselves for some serious feels, shocks, and tears. Also...expect the unexpected!!! No spoilers...but these are some of the best-constructed stories ever, and the books are even better! David Bradley who played Walder Frey on Game of Thrones plays Argus Filch the custodian who has the cat with red eyes, Mrs. Norris. Amazingly, very few of the actors in the films will be recast or changed, it will happen though...Professor Dumbledore will be re-cast in the third film, 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' as the actor in the first two films, Richard Harris, died before filming began on the third. This includes the kids, you will watch them age ten years (the amount of time to film the 8 movies). As of right now...the three main leads are in their thirties. The films don't get Ron right...he's a bit of a buffoon and comedic relief in the movies, while in the books, he's more street-smart about the Wizarding World, and he's a ride-or-die kind of friend to Harry. A lot of his stuff in the books was given to Hermione. There is also one little goof in the end scene...Hermione in the books has rather large front teeth, almost bucktoothed, and they tried to do it with actress Emma Watson. In the last scene, you can see Emma trying to talk with fake teeth. If you think Emma has a pretty smile now...look at pictures recently. She's a bit of a fashionista, so she's still on magazine covers a lot. All of the kids basically grew up pretty darn good-looking! When you finish the last film...watch the 20th Anniversary Reunion on HBOMax! We're all gonna be wondering what House you will be sorted into...so, time to find the Sorting quiz to find out!!!

Yay! You guys are gonna enjoy these so much! Just so you know, they get darker and darker as they go, as the kids grow up. Basically, with a few exceptions, each movie takes place over one year at Hogwart's. So, essentially it's from age 11 to age 17 for these kids.

I've got a lot of great childhood memories tied to these movies/books. It was a whole thing - going to midnight releases of the next book, you mentioned LOTR and both of these franchises were coming out to theatres at the same time at the beginning so it was a huge deal seeing both in theatres, watching them all night at sleepovers, playing all the video and board games, Harry Potter themed birthday parties, arguing over plot points at school lunches because you had to wait another year before the next book came out to answer your burning questions, getting sorted into your house - I was hardcore Gryffindor for obvious reasons but at my heart I'm a Slytherin/Hufflepuff mix for life; and of course you had to spend all of your money on merch at Hot Topic! 😅 My aunt who sadly passed away last October was the one who actually recommended the first book to my mom. My mom would read the earlier books out loud to my sister and me and we'd look up words we didn't know in the dictionary, so we were learning while getting introduced to a new world. I was 7 when the first movie came out and man, did my heart break when I didn't get a letter from Hogwarts when I turned 11. I literally grew up with the characters. They'll always hold a place in my heart and I have my aunt to thank 🙏🏻💖😇. Man, you've got me emotional and I haven't even started your reaction!!! Here we go - Hogwarts, it's good to be back.... Edit: This calls for inner child food - I'll be back after I get some animal shaped nuggets and mac n' cheese. We are doing this right or not at all.

Christopher Columbus did a great job establishing the world so adapted from the book series, but Alfonso Cuarón took the franchise to the next level and directed the best film in the series. Definitely worth reacting to the Three Amigos of Cinema: Guillermo del Toro (3), Alfonso Cuarón (4), and Alejandro Iárritu (5). They ushered in a Golden Age of Mexican cinema and received a collective 12 Oscars to date.

I am so absolutely happy that after browsing the comments so far, there’s no calls for cancellation of your channel. Some of my favorite people on KZbin quit over being sent death threats over watching these movies or playing the new game that came out. If there are comments out there like that, ignore them. They are a vocal minority and have absolutely no idea what real violence is. These stories aren’t about them.

John Cleese the legend himself was the one who played the first ghost you seen, Sir Nicholas/Nearly Headless Nick.. this series of films had a huge portion of england's greatest acting talent from across the generations all in a single place... all becoming great friends.

The actor who plays Dumbledore is Richard Harris and the actor who payed Gandalf in Lord Of the Rings is Ian McKellen. They are not related. Richard Harris died in 2002 so Michael Gambon played Dumbledore starting with the third movie. A lot of reactors don’t even notice the change.

Best thing about the series is they consistently get better and darker and more adult because the audience grew with the characters so the first one is for kids but each one just gets even better and more adult. So if you didn’t really love this one by #3 you’ll probably be into way more

Ooo, I’m ready for this magical journey! The thing that’s different about this series is it’s really one BIG story told in 7 books / 8 movies so unlike other other stories that have a good beginning and then capitalize on it with crap sequels, this one had the end in mind from the beginning and it’s SO satisfying cuz there are So many hints, clues and foreshadowing that you get from each book / movie. It’s a great ride and I’m happy to take it with you ✨✨✨✨

I don’t know where you found this movie at…but this is the English version… When Hagrid answers the door…they say…”We know about the Philosopher’s Stone” I have never heard that before. The American version is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Dumbledorf is played by Richard Harris… a great Irish actor. His contemporaries where Richard Burton, Peter O’Toole, Albert Finney etc. he is only in the first 2 Harry Potter films. Sadly he died after the 2nd film

I appreciate your efforts. Black folks are a bit loopy about this sort of thing. As a black woman, I introduced Harry Potter to a “friends” child and he basically called me a demon. It’s an amazing tale. I have a particular relationship with familiars of all kinds. Mostly cats and insects. I hope you enjoy this journey. You can loose a Quidditch match even if you catch the Snitch. It's all about the points. The Snitch is worth 150 points. But if the other team has scored a far bigger amount of points by scoring goals with the Quaffle then your team can still loose the game. The game only completely ends when a seeker has caught the snitch. Then you add up the points and see who has more at the end of the match. If you are ever curious about how to play Quidditch there is a book that the Harry Potter books author, JK Rowling wrote called "Quidditch Through the Ages". It was written as if it were one of Harry Potter's text books. She wrote two such fake text books. The other book is called "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and they were written to raise money for charity. The fictional game of Quidditch became so popular that it became an actual Real Life college sport though the name of the college sport has been very recently changed to "Quadball" due to the recent controversy of the author, JK Rowling. Players run around with brooms between their legs and the snitch is a person wearing a gold outfit and a handkerchief in the back of the pants being chased by the seekers. You can find videos on KZbin of the real life college sport. I personally have watched a couple of matches here in New York City where I live. So yeah, it's real. LOL! 😉 🏰📚 🪄🧹👍

Dumbledore said they "destroyed" the Sorcerer's stone and Nicolas Flamel agreed to die naturally. They had already explained (Hermione found in a book) that Flamel invented the stone to keep himself alive forever. So Flamel was sacrificing himself to keep that power out of Voldemort's hands.
