I really feel that the TQ+ movement has cynically hitched itself to the gains made by LGB people and are at risk of eroding support across the board. 'Pride', for example, was a single day of acknowledgement for gay folks. Now it's a month-long indoctrination fest that actively seems to sideline gay people!

Dear Philip, I'm glad you do not feel marginalised,I for once in my life do. As a straight female who has given this country 2 well-behaved tax paying law abiding citizens I now stand the chance of having to share a female locker roomwith a transgender person who identifies as female. This isn't what women's liberation fought for. In the late 50s through to the 90s women fought for equality with men. Since then it seems to ,e that the whole world has lost its collective mind and people can pick and choose what sex they identify as. And anyone who disagrees with this is likely to be physically or verbally publicly abused by men dress as women.

@@angeld3500 A key part of Harry's legal case against Mirror Group Newspapers relies on a precedent set by a court case involving a chimney sweep that took place 300 years ago. The 1722 trial of Armory v Delamirie involved an individual who found a metal piece of jewellery set with gems while cleaning a fireplace. When the chimney sweep had the item valued, a jeweller surreptitiously removed the gems - before handing back a number of empty metal sockets. The chimney sweep sued and a judge ruled that in the absence of the original gems, it must be assumed that the jewels were of the highest possible value that could fit the empty metal sockets. The legal ruling set a precedent that if the court can tell that evidence is missing, then the assumption should be that what is missing is of the highest possible value that would fit the hole. David Sherborne, Prince Harry's barrister, told the high court on Monday that the Mirror's mass-deletion of emails potentially relating to Harry's case was damning. He evoked the chimney sweep's case from 1722, arguing the judge should interpret the deletion of potential evidence as "inferences of unlawful activity" Sherborne evoked the same case in last year's Wagatha Christie libel trial between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy. In that trial, he successfully argued that the loss of a mobile phone in the North Sea containing WhatsApp messages should be interpreted as an attempt to hide important evidence.

John Moore - Yes, but under English law the winning party in a case like this is usually allowed to reclaim at least the majority of their legal costs from the loser. However, money judgments in the UK are not normally enforceable in the USA (or vice versa) so whether they can recover their costs from Prince Harry may depend on whether he still has sufficient assets in the UK. Unlikely they can seize Harry's mansion nor Meghan's jewels or designer silk knickers in California. However, there are potential legal means to prevent someone from moving assets currently in the UK out of the country to evade a court judgement, or to require someone resident abroad to provide security for their potential liability for their opponent's legal costs as a condition of being allowed to sue them in a UK court. I used to be a solicitor.
