He was not comparing Range Rover too wine ! He was making the point that this man's passion of mechanics is a part of him , and like a wine specialist he has an exceptional knowledge of that subject, so you were more concerned in thinking of how you could be a smart alec than to stop , and how wrong you were

@@jackblack1947-8 If you read carefully, you will see that my comment is directed to David Martins, and not to the creator of the video. Now I explain: a good wine with the years is improved more and more (if the necessary care is taken). Not a RR. My first RR, was a three door 1979, 3.5 engine, and then in 1983, and 1990 a five door. Both with a delicate engine, but with solution. In 1994 and 1998, a five-door 4.6 (P-38), which for me, was the best produced. In 2003, a 4.4 (L322), began my problems. 2006, I sell it and buy a VW Touareg 5.0 In 2013 I return to RR and decide to buy an L405, 5.0 L. Vehicle that I spend more time in the service than in my hands, with electronic problems of all kinds. Fortunately, I had not sold the Touareg (nor the P38 also, that I still have with me). I just bought my first RR, a L322 TDV8 exactly like the one you lovingly describe here. 118k miles for £7750, full history, runs an absolute dream. I know it’ll cost me to run, but with a realistic yearly maintenance budget, and very little depreciation, it works out over a few years about the same as a PCP Qashqai; and life is comprehensively too short for that s**t. It’s so nice to see this affectionate appraisal from an owner rather than Internet forums sniping about the reliability. Thanks for the video, Harry - and while I’m here, I’ve been an Evo lover from the start, so thanks for that too. Now off to eBay for 20” rims...

Loving this. I have a 2010 over finch and it makes me smile everyday. It's my dreamcar. No finance. No worries if it goes wrong it'll work cheaper than a new audi a3.

Just bought a 4.4 V8 Diesel. This has the 8 speed box and hardly ever seems to go much beyond 1500 RPM. Smooth as a nut and quick. Kept the 19 inch wheels as I’m more into ride than sharp handling. Comfort wise is superb 👍🏻

Great review. I bought exactly this model at 100,000 miles two years ago. Now on 137,000 and it’s been fantastic for £12k. Exactly has Harry says, I’ve had a rusted through tailgate stay, a split turbo hose, a wheel bearing fail and I flushed the transmission oils when I bought it. Also EGT valves started to cough misfire and smoke on warm start. Did a digital delete with a new map that locks out the valve forever. Runs like a watch now and only cost £300. Mine tows, lives on a farm, has kids in it all the time and with a wash it looks really classy. Very very very good cars for the money.

It was pretty much down to this video that I bought my own 2010 Galway Green L322 TDV8 Vogue SE...and it is a truly an amazing vehicle, highly recommended.

I had a 2007 TDV8 for a year in Namibia. Best car I ever had in every aspect, exept reliability. Sand, rocks, gravel, tarmac. Its absolutely capable everywhere. And comfortable. It had 85 000 miles on when I bought it, with a full dealer service history. I spent about £6000 on repairs in the year I owned it. Gearbox oil gasket. EGR valve. Exhaust manifold gasket. Dampers. Brake discs. Brake pads. One morning I came into the garage ONE fog light shining. And the battery was stone dead. During my year of ownership, it was at the dealership more than with me. But its so excellent in all other ways that videos like this tempt me.

That's just sad am sorry for man but why the fuck did you bring such a car in Africa???! The cars element is in the British streets not the real field where other well built cars can survive adjustable air suspensions that's just a gimmick when you live places like Africa or near the bush

Have a 2010 HSE, Buckingham Blue exterior with cream interior. 5.0L naturally-aspirated V8, extremely smooth. The ride is incredibly soft and quiet. Haven't had many issues other than basic maintenance pieces (knock on wood). The L322s are the most regal and classiest Range Rovers ever made, in my opinion. I love the big buttons; ease of access and functionality. 2006+, take care of them, they should last a long time. Understated elegance.

The L322 looks much classier. But is the L322 also smoother than the new L405? I think the new L405 looks like a Ford Explorer.

@@Fall-off-currencies I think the L494 looks like an Explorer. The L405 is the last Range Rover that looks like a Range Rover. Everything else now looks like an Evoque. I have a 2013 Autobiography Sport which I love, but when I'm done with it I'll be getting an L405.

Had 4.4 V8 on a 2003, never had a problem with it apart from a gearbox problem which was just a switch that kept putting it into manual, easily fixed and was under warranty. Drove to Marbella in her but went the long way over the famous Millau bridge and she was a dream to drive.

Have had a few of these now, currently a 2012 model and really pleased with it. Yes they are expensive to run and maintain but there is nothing like them on the road. If you want the best ride you have to pay for it!

Great review! I have a 2007 with the 4.2 SC engine. Absolutely love it. Purchased in 2013 it’s a fabulous ride and I’ve saved loads of labor by doing most of the work myself. I haven’t paid the engine a second thought, it has 155k miles and only uses 1/4 quart every 5k miles. Always get compliments and the performance is superb. I’ve had the best all season performance from the Continentals. Appreciate your time.

I had a chance to live with a 2010 LR322, V8 Petrol, back in late 2012 up to early 2014. I was hired by this well-off family back in Massachusetts in late 2012. They've given me the task to ferry their children along in their Range Rover, I've taken it to rural areas and high elevations in New England. I was smitten by this model, not only by the looks but also by how it made me feel as a driver. Driving this model was nothing but a treat, although it had some issues like high maintenance cost. Anyhow, when my employers finally decided to trade it in with the LR405, I was sad to see the old Rangie go. Up until this day, I still think the Shape of the older 322 is more elegant than the current 405. Well, thanks for giving me this nostalgic video Harry!

Great informative video & an absolute inspiration indeed! Truth be told, this video & maybe just one other honestly, inspired me to purchase my very first Range Rover in December 2020. A 2010 Supercharged L322 Online from Miami Florida of all places. Full service history, one owner & with 88k on the clock. Straight from the comforts of home & wayy outside my usual propensity to over think & over analyze everything, i abandoned my comfort zone, found the truck & pulled the trigger! (Blame it on the pandemic) I then had it transported to Philadelphia Pa after a pre purchase inspection of course and I couldn't be happier! Santorini Black with a full black leather interior including the headliner with a piano black wood interior trim and not so much as a blemish, crack, chip, scratch or imperfection anywhere! Absolutely magnificent condition! I did however eventually have to replace the driver side power foot rail motor, the battery and an airbox underhood, but that's it since I've owned it outside of "regular maintenance". As amazing as the actual ride is and the 500 plus horsepower incredible, the feeling it evokes as it goes about it's business has a regal quality to it in my humble opinion. It's presence is & remains nothing less than statuesque even after so many years later after it's introduction. It so far has been all that I had imagined it would be as I had never driven one, but had adored the brand, especially the L322 from afar for so many a year. For me personally & especially, this was a truly risky proposition & something i had never done in the past, but totally worth it! Thanks again for the great insight & video Harry! Great story. Im literally looking at 2 different L322s that are based in Florida as well. One is in Stuart Fl...the other in Miami. I live in NY so I'd be shipping them to the Northeast like you did. And like you, this would be totally outside of my comfort zone. I usually need to touch and feel everything before buying it. Times change though I guess. Good Luck with yours. I did recently have to get the suspension recalibrated/reprogrammed to facilitate the proper leveling of the suspension at rest, (Something i wasn't aware was necessary from time to time apparently) but aside from that & what I've already mentioned, no major issues. It's amazing how this old stallion still turns heads almost everywhere i go in it. Hoping alls great with you & yours my friend. #respect 🤟

I just bought a 2012 RR Supercharged a few months ago. The supercharged engine is a monster. This was the last year before they switched to the new body style (at least it was here in the U.S.). Although I like the new body style, I do not like the interior (except for the panoramic sunroof). They got rid of all the buttons. The interior is way too austere. It doesn't seem as plush as the L322. I don't know why vehicle manufacturers are suddenly against having buttons on the dash. I think putting all the controls in the satnav makes it MORE complicated, not better. When you spend this much money on a vehicle I WANT buttons! I think the driver SHOULD feel like he's inside a cockpit on a vehicle this expensive. I couldn't see my self paying an additional $25k + for a 2013 or newer. Great video, love the British people's accent and vehicles!

This obsession with iPad style controls is unsafe and ergonomically ill-advised. Buttons are “learnable” and far easier to use on the move. The Volvo XC90 now looks bereft and unusable.

Harry, it was good to meet you at the NEC Classic Car show on the FJ stand! Forgot to ask if you would consider doing a Lotus Cortina review? My Dad (a great fan of yours, ex-dealership manager, now 83 years young and chair bound with Parkinsons) had a MK1 '66 SE back in the late 60's/early 70's and has always had sellers remorse. I tried tracking his down but it got exported to Oz in the 80's, so short of reuniting him with his old car, I know a video review by you would be the next best thing. Would be great if you could!! Keep up the great work!

I have had my 2004 l322 4.4 v8 petrol for just over a month now. Absolutely love it. Use it for work after my 2017 Ford Ranger broke down. Would definitely by another one . Such addictive cars

Review is spot on. Done 118k miles in my late 3.6 TDV8 I bought at 30k miles. EGR valves, turbo pipe, tyres, brakes, alternator. Pretty good really. I'm keeping hold of it. Does everything really well and still doing 10k+ miles a year.

@@joshhaines6280 yes thanks. On 135k miles now. Yes, I had the gearbox fluid changed and the underside rustproofed last year and few bushes etc changed. It's a keeper.

Just bought the 4.3 V8 diesel. £11k. Has done 136k but full service history. What a lot of car for the money. I love the driving experience (my first Rangerover) and can't believe my luck. I am going to take your advice re the valves and the oils. Fingers are all crossed for a few years more without serious outgoings. All of your videos are so informative, and the great thing is you haven't got an ego. That's rare on youtube! Thanks

The 07 - 08 years are probably the best to go for . £5000 should get you a half decent one here in 2023 . Fuel costs aren’t too bad , Road tax is £695 which is a bit high but if £13 a week is a make or break then a TDV8 probably isn’t for you .

I’m on my fifth Rangie and bought it from a mate who.’d had it from new and did most of his miles between Kent and Monaco. It’s got 125,000 miles and nearly sixteen years on it now and it is a great piece of kit. Long drives to Scotland are effortless, towing heavy trailers a breeze, five adults on board for a run to the country no bother. The key is maintenance, look after it properly and it’ll look after you!

I've run a 2002 year L322 4.4 petrol V8 that's been converted to LPG for the last 12 months now and I'm going to check if the rear seat base folds up tomorrow! Very informative, although you didn't comment on LPG? Its on 166k miles and achieves 14mpg on a long run to work so with local LPG at 54 pence per litre thats equivalent to at least 28mpg. Its a touch quieter than diesel and I have an MOT pass this month showing ZERO co2 emissions. I'm saving the planet in this V8 once the temperature gets to a quarter & LPG switches on. It's not been a major money pit....so far.

Interesting this video because even without Harry's commentary, the quality of the interior really shines through. No rattles on the video and notice the gentle body movements - indicative of the brilliant suspension setup. Also I like how he likes all the BMW switch gear from this era of car. It was always very good !

Nice vid Harry always been a fan of the L322. I think it became a much better looking car after the 2006 face-lift, you're very right they're not cheap to run, i know a few people who have owned them and they've all had something go wrong, usually the gear box, though i attribute this to that "sealed for life" nonsense, so i agree you really have to change the fluid. The other major failure is always the air suspension, seems it's not the bags themselves but the compressor most of the time. All problems aside they really are a wonderful car, it's just about buying one that's been looked after so service history is key. That EGR valve at £800 is expensive, but to put that into perspective a friend just had one go on his Passat estate by no means a luxury car and that was £400, so regardless they're expensive to do. Looking forward to the next video.

A few comments on tyres. I use my Range Rovers off-road on farm tracks and muddy fields. I also use them for long motorway runs and towing a 3500kg boat. The best tyres have been the Cooper Zeon LTZs which have given over 40,000 miles and worked well in snow and mud. However, my current L405 is fitted with the new General Grabber AT3s and they are also excellent - being quieter than the OE Pirelli P Zeros and the same grip as the Coopers. They have only done 15,000 miles so I don't know how far they will go yet, but they still look like new.

Thank you for a great review Harry: I came through the Land Rover family; 1st Freelander, 2010, then RRS 3.0 Diesel, no problems at all; both did about 80-85K km's; decided to up to 2015 RR 4.4 SE Vogue 13 months ago; was always worried about reliability issues; but your review really sets my mind at ease; and also makes me realize what a great vehicle I own; stay blessed.

First car I saw and fell in love with was when I was 14 back in the 70's. Bought a 2006 TDV8 3.6 litre RR Vogue in 2009. It was midnight blue with a cream interior. Best car I ever owned. Had to sell it because of the ULEZ charge. Still miss my RR. Thank you Harry.

Reflects my experience, and although my right bank turbo failed after only a month (147K car), it is still the best car I've owned (including BMW750i), gives a feeling like no other. Living in rural isolation and snowed-in for a few days most winters, I do often use its 4x4 ability. Pre the V8, the diesels were underpowered; so, I jumped from my P38 2.5D straight into this, bypassing the 3 altogether. As I said to my good lady, for as long as I can only justify running one car, it will always be a Range Rover. I would only replace mine (2007 3.6 TDV8) with a newer one.

Great video as ever sir - loved my L322 (same colour as yours too) - had to finally let her go 3 weeks ago after a number of expensive issues that the local specialist seemed unable to resolve - in the end all sorts of weird noises, had to have the turbo reconditioned, replaced the transfer box, etc, etc - last couple of years I spent well over £5Kpa just keeping her on the road - hope she'd do better but finally traded her in at 108,000 miles and it felt like it was on her last legs....gutted to see it go (but the high VED cost, terrible fuel "economy" and ongoing issues made it a no brainer compared to the nearly new Hybrid E-Class Estate I swapped it for). Love Range Rover though, agree with all you said about the ride quality and especially the visibility...brilliant family car and I hope to have another in the future.....all the best - TMF

Great video, just to say I had a TD6 not the V8 diesel for 6 years and did 100,000 miles whilst I owned it. I had it stage 1 re-map and it makes it very drive-able, I had no problem at all with the gearbox or anything else for that matter it was a brilliant car and had 5 more since . So what I am saying is the TD6 is good as well

As my video points out, 2002-2005 models of RR are the ones to avoid. Need to go for post 2006, as they were the versions reworked by Ford and are very different cars under the skin.

Harry's garage interesting to note how it takes Ford to deliver a solid motor! I ran a 2.0d X-type estate for 4 years and it was a solid motor, people mocked its mondeo heritage but it made for a economically viable luxury car running cost wise!

Great video Harry, I've always had a thing for Range Rovers. I had a classic about 25 years ago, never had an issue with it. The internet is full of people who "know" what cars are good and bad, but it's good to hear from someone who owns one. I've read elsewhere about reliability being better from 2006 / Jaguar engines onwards. I'll have another one day. Cheers, Drew

Had one for 3 years (2012 model), makes you drive slower so you don’t get home too soon. No problems apart from rear washer that keeps getting blocked. Tried a V6 sport but no competition. Long trips regularly get 33mpg up to 37.

Beautiful video. My friend had a RR Sport V8 Diesel. The car had 420.000 kms (262.000 miles) and he always pulled a trailer. He imported cars from Belgium to Hungary. His mania was to change oils before than need. Engine 8000 kms. And gearbox 15... Once up on a time I went to Germany with him. After this "go and back" trip what was 2800 kms, I realised what this car it is. When I arrived home, the sound of my computer's fan disturbed me. My sofa was not same cosy. I could not find a same quiet area like the Range. To drive my Suzuki Jimny was a nightmare. Now I sold the car, the motorbike. I definitelly will buy a RR Sport V8 diesel. I have seen many time my friend's car, of course I knew it is cosy. But I did not know it is that much smooooth... I love good films, I like theatre, but now my favourite thing to ride on a RR Sport.

Drove my pre-owned (1st owner, all maintenance done by the dealer) 2007 3,6 TDV8 without any trouble for 20k+ miles and to this date it is the only car I seem to miss. Did off-road stuff nicely as well, no complaints whatsoever. Everything one could ask for in a car.

Another great video Harry. Just watch the focus on the interior stuff. Read a comment on here about Harry's driving. Sorry, but I can't agree. He appears courteous (giving way on the single track road) and very observant (checking what the other cars intentions were when pulling out of a junction). Harry is obviously an extremely experienced driver and road tester, so used to driving lots of different vehicles. Sure, he enjoys his driving (I had to laugh when he left the camera car behind accelerating away from a junction!), but not once did I think he was driving incorrectly or dangerously.

As an ex Range Rover owner, all I can say is that you have been super lucky to have few issues. We had two at the same time, his and hers, what a mistake! They were rarely both on the road at the same time.

I've had my 2008 TDV8 for almost three years now and have done about 40000 km with it, starting out at almost exactly 300000 km when I bought it from a dealer in Germany. Saved about EUR 10k, that way, compared to buying one here in Sweden. I've driven it mostly on paved roads, but also in deep enough mud that I got stuck once. Actually so deep, that I couldn't open the drivers door in extended mode. But I got out of that one, in the end too after bailing out on the passenger side and throwing some wood in front of the rear wheels. Overall a reliable car, just as you say. The only real disappointment I've had with her, is that the rectifier bridge on the alternator threw in the towel two days before we were supposed to go on vacation. So I was stuck here in Stockholm, replacing the alternator at the parking place, while I sent the rest of my family to Barcelona by air. You're not supposed to replace it from the top, but with just the right amount of swearing and wiggling, it came out and the new one got in. All the pulleys and the tensioner for the aux drive-belt was also replaced. Earlier, just after I got her, I replaced a rear brake caliper and all discs and pads. That I'll just consider normal service items. Apart from that, no issues whatsoever. It got a MOT last Tuesday with clean papers. I don't completely agree with you on the 20" wheels, though. I've got 20" summer wheels (255/50-20) and it gets so much more bumpy on bad roads, compared to my 255/55-19 winter wheels. And I don't feel I lose that much in handling. A little bit more spongy, perhaps, but this car is more like driving a truck than a car, so I like it. When everything is working they are imperial, when something is not right they are a mistress nightmare! I have a black 2003 4.4 and the previous owners have sunk thousands into it replacing all the bits you expect to go bad at 100,000 miles....Mine's on fully sequential LPG and you cannot tell when it swops from petrol to gas. Costs less to run than our Audi A2. Cannot find any decent mechanics, so do everything myself. I'm teaching my little boy about mechanics at the same time;)... I applaud you! Unlike you I am not mechanically minded - and nor, it appears, were the mechanics of my 2003 4.4, especially after her botched conversion to LPG. The car was a nightmare 90% of the time. I finally threw in the towel and replaced her with a stunning 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography, which (knock on wood which I carry around for this purpose) which has been almost trouble free. So far. ;)

My daily driver is an ‘07 L322 Supercharged. It has just over 308,000 miles on it & runs great. If I were in the UK, Id have a V8 Diesel but here in the USA the Supercharged is just right. Nothing else rides like one.

Thanks for a great chanel! Living in Southern Africa the Range Rover Vogue has always been a dream car. In my humble opinion the L322 is the pick of the bunch. The question I ask is how do you think it would fit in the Southern African context? Terribly degraded roads with giraffe swallowing potholes, badly corrugated and washed out gravel roads, wildlife and drunken locals crossing country and national freeways at night etc. To me it's the perfect car for long distance sales exec's, tech specialists and explorers. Would you agree? Do you think a an LR4 would be be beter? My heart is with the 322 tdv8 vogue...

My 2006 runs and rides beautifully. Just had to put in new AC compressor at 165K miles - for a California car where AC runs 80% of the time, it's lasted extremely well. A few scuffs on the driver seat, and cup holders, but otherwise looks like new. My boss got in a few years ago and asked when I got a new Rover - it was 10 years old when he asked. Some Rovers seem to be problematic, but mine has been extremely reliable. I will run it into the ground - don't see any reason why it won't go 250K miles and still look/run great.

Good stuff Harry, honest and comprehensive as usual. My L322 is an early one, 2002 with the 3.0 litre BMW diesel and I get 27mpg and it still pulls like a train after 140,000 miles. Got the rust at the rear door/wheel arch junction but otherwise it’s as sound as a pound. Paid £4,500 for it two years ago and I reckon I’ll get all my money back when I sell it later this year after we finished our house building project! Can’t beat that and I agree with you, it’s hard to look at a newish Rangie at £70k and think it’s worth the money compared to a good L322 TDV8!

Sent here by Harry’s update episode when he visited Clarkson. I’d never seen it before. A terrific vehicle for those who can use such a capable car. Harry’s comments on the ease of use, it’s well made, mechanical aspects with fewer electrical features and importantly, physical size. It’s no small thing at L322, but the newest ones are prohibitively large for a lot of people, mostly because of the size of our non-motorway roads. If you’ve got one of these, and the budget to maintain it, you could do a lot worse than to maintain it indefinitely.

I've had my 2008 Range Rover TDV8 since 2 Years. Never had any problems. The 2006 TD6 I bought in 2008 had so many problems. I would always take the V8 over the 6 Cylinder. Also the Interior in the TDV8 is better in my opinion.

My last RR was a 3.0 diesel and I can confirm that it was slow and noisy. Pressing the throttle to overtake meant more noise but very little more go. It was very well built and never had a single build issue or fault in the 40k miles I kept it. I know that the front pinion shaft was an issue at that time but I was lucky and sold it in time.

@@lt.lasereyez8891 Yes, when they were about six years old after massive pressure from customers and consumer organisations. Before that and once out of warranty, there were at least two years, possibly more, when the early ones were refused. They had to pay and were only eventually reimbursed by a kicking and screaming company. This left many very bitter and dissatisfied customers.

Having driven several 'Rangies' I can honestly say that the 3.6 V8 is probably the best I car I have had the privilege to drive. Surprisingly economical (or maybe that was just the size of the fuel tank?) and by far the most comfortable vehicle.....Don't expect to be able to do the twisty stuff when you compare it to say, the Cayenne diesel but otherwise just an awesome vehicle. Unfortunately, as with all 'high end' luxury 4 X 4's maintenance is expensive and when issues arise, having then fixed is the same. Think Harry is right in advising against buying the BMW produced diesel.....but generally a great car...

I have a 2006 Range Rover Sport, and that does have Anti-roll bars on the suspension, and I can tell you it really does make a difference. It drives just like a brand new Range Rover after I put new Continentals on it

Recently bought an l322 tdv8 overfinch. Easily the best car I’ve ever bought it does absolutely everything. My fuel economy is 29mpg average on mixed roads. It’s smooth quiet and powerful and so easy to see why they are so desirable.

Amazing video and review, lovely to see it out and about as your review it. I’ve had the 3.6 for about 6 months, and only had very minor niggles, intercooler hoses, and a seized calliper, My service prices have been £300 approx, Above all, The most amazing car to drive !

I've (only) had 5 Range Rovers and numbers 3 & 4 were L322s: 2004 V8 Vogue and 2010 TDV8 models. Both were excellent and did 186k and 112k miles respectively. Weakest points were all components, by (mainly) German manufacturers: Radiators (4 replacements), Water pumps (x2), Air suspension pumps (x2), Fuel pump (outrageously expensive), Alternator (ridiculously expensive) and ignition coils. The BMW engine was cheaper to run because BMW parts were about 40% cheaper than Land Rover parts. Some OE parts (e.g. Bosch radiators) were half the Land Rover cost. If your RR is more than 4 years old have it serviced by a LR specialist and use OE parts from the manufacturer - not Land Rover - and your running costs will be less than half that of main dealers. The secret to not breaking down is to have it serviced regularly by someone who recognises a component about to fail. The best? Probably the 2010 TDV8 - it was better built than my current 2015 L405 and felt more 'classy'. The worst? Easily the 1998 P38 - poor ride, cramped cabin, rust magnet and very bad electrics. The one I regret selling? the 1993 model - a true 'Classic' and I would love another one...but only for shooting and events.

P38 Rust magnet? don't think so. I'm on my third p38 - no rust anywhere. Little bit of bubbling on the lower tailgate lip maybe. L322, just like Harry's one - rust on the rear arches for the simple reason that the wheel arch liner doesn't extend to the outer lip of the arch - so stones fly off the tyres and hit the bare arch. Why they didn't carry over the proven approach from the p38 I will never know.

Good honest review. I had one of the earlier (2004) petrol V8 with the BMW 4.4ltr engine and it’s was fantastic. Ran it to 115000 miles with no issues, and it had (8 years ago) good parts OEM parts availability. Still a good looking car, but yes satnav well dated. Moved to supercharged version and wow!. What an experience but 15mpg too rich for my pocket.

I must say I can completely agree with everything you said. Over the years we have had around 25 range rovers starting from classics moving through p38s and onto l322 and used them around the farm. I agree in saying that the td6 is what it is ( its okay, But really it is worked hard and has a weak gearbox). The 3.6 tdv8 are overall an extremely good car and really good value, Your right about the EGR valves ( had to rebuild an engine because of it ). The 4.4 tdv8 is surprisingly quick and great for towing but the one thing I don't like about it is the grill, its getting very bling bling if you know what I mean. Every person that owns a RR should have one of those hand held computers for bringing up the vaults the codes, but once you get used to towing, going off road and using the Range Rover as a tractor/ all rounder you will never go back to any other 4x4. They really are great at everything and fit in anywhere be that in the farm yard full of dogs going off for a days work, going to a black tie ball or just cruising down through France on the highway to the sun. The best 4x4 by far.

Speaking of which, currently sitting in a mates 2011 4.4 using a glove and cable ties too try and reattach one of the linkages for the left wiper blade, the joint has worn and it has becoming disconnected (common fault) happen to an old td6 I had years ago as well

I'm at the point where, there's nothing better..& everyone complaining about maintenance costs, if you go German, if will cost much more, if you go Japanese, longer gaps between repairs, but when it does need it, similar cost. you might as well buy what you love..and whatever you love in life, will cost & take effort to keep it.

Sorry, but in the U.S. you are absolutely wrong. Most German such as Audi and Mercedes have slightly lower maintenance cost than this Range Rover, and the overall ownership and maintenance cost of Toyota are FAR less than this. Rang Rovers are great, but they are expensive.

What a machine owned a 2007 56 plate 3.6ltr V8, we had it for 6yrs used every single day it had 82k when we bought it unfortunately just sold it last month to the scrap yard in the sky, head gasket went on it. We had to spend last year on the suspension, my fault it was coming up suspension fault, new compressor in the boot, & following that the air suspension bag on on the front driver's side. And as you said in the video we had two new turbo hoses for it as well, great machine loved it, driving down to Bath in it from Anglesey North Wales was just fantastic, however, last few months was using a lot of water, then engine light came on took it to our Land Rover specialist & they gave us the bad news. In order to fit a new head gasket you have to remove the body off the chassis completely, also two heads, so two gaskets, it cost more to fix than the car was worth, so RIP Range Rover King of the road
