I've been playing the Akrij build. Went from gold 2 to plat 2 in three days. For the first time, I'm listening to podcasts while I play SC2. And I can reliably play a game in under 8 minutes, because it's over one way or the other at about the 6 minute mark every single time. And as Harstem said, optimize your APM at about 65 or 70. This video is the perfect counterpart to the Akrij one. Ride the Akrij build from diamond to GM, and then ride Harstem's variations back to diamond.

Literal "filler" like that is pretty rare these days. In most modern series, what people call "filler" is extra content by the original author. Most anime stories start as self-published web novels, then a light novel serialization, then a manga, then an anime. At each step, the author will sometimes write a few extra stories so that fans still get something "new" with each new adaptation they buy, even though they've already read the previous versions. Because the plot originally was written without them, those extra stories can't be important to the plot - but sometimes they're good enough for other reasons that the manga/anime will include either some new content for the anime or an adaptation of a bonus story from a previous phase of the pipeline.

Every terran on the ladder was playing this the day that video came out. I'm a D3 random player, and when I scouted it as protoss I held pretty easily with immortals + batteries. I never figured out how to beat it as terran, except to just proxy reaper and collect easy points, because everyone was skipping their first unit and building the reactor right away. Never got to play against it as zerg

Not what anybody would call a good starcraft player, but terrans are holding me easily if they just wall off on the high ground and have two siege tanks. Unless the tanks are way out on the edge of the cliff, they outrange cyclones by so much that they're doing game ending damage by the time we get through the wall.

21:27 in gold (i'm g2) some people are pre-emptively going hisec + tank + depo/bunker walls and tight choke point + planetary right from the get go in anticipation of this cyclone cheese. others go for reactor starport vikings across the map while they turtle up their 2nd base - and this one is incredible if you've proxied and didn't get your factory at home up and running.

Played two terrans in a row who did this build. Checked the rough timings in victory screen and continued winning most of my vT games for a week. Fun stuff, and some of the terrans got really mad when I just easily held their shenanigans

What happens in filler episodes is what happens in most of your series, where you just play semi-normally for points. There's no exciting plot to follow, no new objectives, almost no new information and almost no development. Just casual everyday life with (or without) some spin on things (like a "Beach Episode" is analogous to your "Cheesiest Man Alive" episode, or your "Road to rank 1" episode is analogous to a "Training Montage Episode") So examples of non-filler episodes are your IODIS, which resembles a "monster of the week" formula (plot that resolves in a single episode) and Rank Roulette, which is basically a "Tournament Arc"

Regarding filler episodes, it's more like if you were doing a video series on the wings of liberty campaign - but every couple of missions you throw in a random ladder game in order to get the campaign to last longer. Nobody's really there for the ladder games, and after the fact the campaign is basically still at the same point it was before...

I do a proxy 3 gate (on 2 base) in a decent chunk of my games vs terran and that always crushes anyone who makes a cyclone. You get to 2 shot and one shot cyclones before their second factory even thinks of making cyclones. Especially if I get the vibe that my opponent is a cyclone player. Otherwise my builds are 4g blink (which does great) and specific pheonix colossi style which skips warp gate to get an extremely quick robo as well as having a stargate, thus allowing me to simply chrono immortals and the cyclone player has a bad time. Overall I do lose sometimes, but as a protoss player I've been having great time winning most of my games vs cyclone players.

You could try the proxy version against toss, but build a tech lab on the barracks after reactor for factory, and wasily afford a marauder cyclone all in instead, better against immortals

Hide a proxy scv for if you get scouted - because once the scv is dead, only an idiot hangs around to attack the incomplete building. It can make a depot (out of sight) if its services are not needed.

In my experience anime fillers happened because each episode of an anime is based on multiple chapters of a manga and so an anime with weekly episodes (basically year-round) would consume multiple weeks' worth of manga chapters (also released once per week year-round), thus even if a manga had years of lead time the anime would always catch up. Given this inevitability, the options for an anime would be to a) stop production of episodes and wait for the manga to build up enough to create another season of the anime, b) branch off the story completely and no longer be based on the manga, or c) create filler episodes to give a buffer for the manga to continue. The filler episodes couldn't change any major plot points because eventually it would have to return to the manga's story arc at some point but also if the filler isn't based off the original creator's writing it would be terrible nonsense most of the time. I've only seen a handful of filler episodes that were actually done quite well both in quality and how seamlessly they fit into the original story, and *far* more absolutely shitty pointless filler episodes that I would've been embarrassed to have worked on or approved for release. In terms of releasing video content, KZbin videos with a theme/goal/editing/etc... basically time and effort put into it, are story arc episodes and just posting unedited Twitch/streams is kinda analogous to filler. Obviously even the filler episodes of anime required work to be created, voice actors, animators, writers (often doesn't feel like it), etc, but they are meant as quantity over quality, similar to how uploaded streams aren't going to have the same density of quality as a planned/edited video but obviously will be much longer.

Love the idea of trying this out :D however: i think your execution isn't on point captain... The blocking the ramp helps a lot with disguising the build, not letting scouts in. Also when you do build the factories at home, i feel like it would be great to start the second factory before the reactor so you get the second reactor up faster and produce slightly quicker... But that were just my throughts, ofc you have way better knowledge of optimizign these builds, i just feel like you can still put a little bit more sharpening on that edge :D

Shortly after the cyclone change I got downvoted by posting that reactor cyclone is near impossible to beat at my diamond level. Everyone just said that I’m dumb for not building immortals. Then harstem posts about this guy that got GM with just cyclones. The only thing to do in Pvt now is open with an immortal, at least at my level where micro is difficult. Every Terran is building four cyclones and rallying them accross the map

Filler episodes are not episodes where nothing happens. A filler episode is when the anime is catching up to the manga so they create an anime original story, it can be it's own arc, a random episode where nothing happens, etc, that way a couple more manga chapters release so they can go back to the actual story.

iirc when DBZ started to catch up dangerously close to the manga, they just made the episodes cover the material 4 times slower and that resulted in a lot of episodes of guys just floating around and screaming without the plot moving forward. Seems pretty filler and pretty close to nothing happening.

imo the qualifier for a "filler episode" is that it doesn't advance the story. A secondary indicator is if the entire cast is in swimsuits

Captain you keep saying that double immortal wins but I’ve never seen the immortals survive the scv pull, the only hard counter I keep seeing is no scout fast mass speed lings. I try to play more hellions but they just blindly transition to mass roach. I still only lose like 40-60%of those games but I win like 100% of other matchups. I am not even diamond 3 yet but it still seems wierd to me you keep bringing up double immortal cause i feel the best Protoss counter would be immortal prism and stalkers with prism control, then a late second immortal. Using the gas on second immortals seems like a terrible play at my level at least cause the immortals are never in range and can’t kill scvs faster than cyclones kill buildings
