The QUICK SHELF Plugin - A Floating Shelf to Improve your Speed/Workflow

Hey Harvey you might want to pin this comment, if you have maya UI scaling enabled for a 4k monitor the shelf will continueosly expland. To fix this you have to hardcode the window size. Dont be dissheartened this is easy to do. Open the MEL file in Notepad ++ Look inside the script, line 56: window -e -widthHeight $quickShelfWidth $quickShelfHeight -tlc (...); replace $quickShelfWidth and $quickShelfHeight with numbers for whatever you want the width/height to be. After testing you want to change $quickShelfWidth to 1000 and $quickShelfHeight to 60 Ive made the developer aware of this so this is just a tmporary fix until he updates it. Great script

@@harveynewman in order to work with the QuickShelf; commnad without putting the hole script in there, just need to change the name like Quick_Shelf

Great video! But after following the steps, why is there no toolbar icon to open the plugin? I used the Chinese version of maya

Thanks for this Harvey it’s a much cleaner way of working. I hate having navigate to the shelf. I don’t know if you have one but you should look at the Razer Tartarus V2 (not the pro) It’s a keypad you can assign anything to I’ve set mine up so I don’t need to take my hand off it. If you haven’t see it take a look.
