Last night I legit had mozzarella & beans on toast with an egg. I cooked the mozzarella with the beans though along with some spinach and tobasco to get them all bonded into a nice cheesy bean goop. James is wrong. Beans are a great food to get creative with.

It's been great to see you doing all that stuff with beans Rachel. I'm actually a chef and I think baked beans are an excellent blank canvas specially if it's the only thing you have in your cupboard. Also beans are a great source of fiber and protein. There's nothing wrong in experimenting with different flavours. In the other hand if you don't like pineapple in savory dishes probably you wont like it with beans either and if you never order pizza from a take away, like James, is because you are not so keen on those flavours perhaps. You should try the "Mexican beaked beans" with fried onions, peppers, garlic and fajita seasoning all topped with pickled jalapeños and melted Monterey Jack.... All the best
