When Michael Chandler first entered the UFC he went straight into the deep end fighting the baddest men in the lightweight division. Has all that dwindled because of this endless pursuit of a fight with Conor McGregor?

One of the barriers to entry to boxing was tracking fighters and multiple belts, so having a single organization with a known roster was a big boost for the UFC. Now that they're trying to put out events constantly, they're constantly bringing in young talent for a fight or 2, never to be seen again. They're creating barriers to entry, all to make the brand stand tall over the fighters.

How is conor mcgregor even relevant anymore it's an actual joke. Bloke got gifted a fight to win the lightweight title and all these people carry on about him being "champ champ" he never fought anybody at lightweight before his title shot, just fought eddie who he beat for the title. He fought nate diaz at welterweight so if he lost he could say he didn't lose to a lightweight fighter so he could then get the gifted shot at the belt. It's an absolute joke. How does nobody see this? Now all he does is talk when there is a good fight and try take the light away from these other fighters. Mcgregor didn't do anything at lightweight and he should just go away and be quiet. Don't know how these people are still so high on megregor.

At this point alot of people barely remember why McGregor even is a star... The Mystic Mac days are looooong past and these days he is mostly known for getting in trouble for some reason or other. His rise was phenomenal, first double champ. Yet he defended neither of his titles, and he has lost more fights than he has won since as well. I think McGregor is more irrelevant than most people assume he is. Longtime fans know he was good, 8 years ago... but now? We all know a fighter is for the most part only as good as his/her last fight, and if people barely remember when last you fought all that star power diminishes even if that fight was an entertaining win, more so if it was a loss. Chandler has wasted his time. And the UFC keeps wasting the star potential of many fighters... Tom Aspinall is a potential star, yet the division is being held up by two guys that are both retiring after a fight that should already have happened and is mostly past its sell by date.

I would've loved to see more Chandler fights, but I also am fine with him waiting for Mcgregor. The man had an entire career in Bellator before coming to the UFC. He has spoken before that he has deals/investments outside fighting that make him a good bit without having to fight. Dana is saying that because its his way of saying, “Conor doesn’t want to fight,” which is what he always says when in a contract dispute. Belts are feeling meaningless compared to everyone wanting the big money fight vs fighters who aren't at the top or are retired😢 ......every champion now only want the belt so they can force the UFC to give them those fights instead of making the divisions and champions mean something or be the money fight😢😅

UFC hasn’t done any Justice for Mike Chandler. Stepped in as company guy & over a year now nothing. Not even a date with Conor.

Chandler just needs to say, "Conor is ghosting him because he knows he will lose. Connor needs a win! Who wants to beg someone who is afraid of you to fight. Then say nothing more and find a fight?!"

You can't compare Cerrone's benefit to Poirer's, because Dustin won and Cerrone got beaten in a round. Of course Cerrone wasn't elevated. Stars sell fights, whether they like it or not, regarding the "let's make UFC bigger than the stars" idea. Another similar-but-not-similar company tried the same thing and tanked themselves, public awareness-wise.

It's because Connor is on his last fight of his contract and wants to fight Manny. Which could happen because Manny owes paradigm like 8ms which would be taken from his fight purse. Mac and chandler should of been the big reveal for 300 though!

I think they bamboozled Chandler and will book McGregor as the next BMF fight or possibly "short notice" title shot at 170. They want Conor to fight for a belt, he has that Dana White Privilege. Thats obvious to me at least. With the fan reaction to Justin vs Max and Oliveria essentially set to challenge Islam next, i dont see McGregor coming back for less than a belt based solely on the imagine hes tried to cultivate (and failed) since returning from the boxing match. Idk why but i see him fighting at 170 on a uk/irish card vs Leon on "short notice" when hes been training for that particular fight the entire time. Hes huge, i cannot fathom him fighting at 155 after blowing up like a balloon

Yeah we already knew when chandler came to the ufc he wasn’t gonna be here for a long time so it’s incredibly unfair that now he could’ve had at least 2 fights by now but he’s stuck waiting for mc chicken

The real question is has connor wasted/ruined his ufc legacy? The guy was on top 2 time champ but never defended the title. Made millions with floyd and was never the same. Cant blame him but it would have been interesting to see how long his rein would have lasted had he stayed in the zone

His "UFC legacy" probably doesn't mean nearly as much to Connor. He has forged his own path, beyond the UFC. Honestly, the UFC was just a part of Connors legacy, at this point.

I think most people are past caring about his legacy. The real issue is as they suggest, we have lost years of seeing Michael in action when he is towards the end of his career

He has no uffc legacy the clown couldn't perform a single title defense. His was a story of catching lightning in a bottle. Aldo and Alvarez his only good performances. Man just managed to capture people's attention. Both chandler and Justin gaenje are both more exciting to watch by miles.

Mcgregor and Jones where my two favorites 10 years ago, now both a disgrace to the sport. One never defended a belt and never cane back from 2016, the other one refuses to defend the belt against the real champion of the divition and asks for a retired fighter who hasn't beat anyone in the actual rankings.
