At 9:00, I was reminded of the Protestant meme of how the dichotomy of Christian conferences focused on different sexes. Women’s conferences generally are “you’re perfect the way you are, queens and princesses of the Most High. Don’t settle, you deserve best, etc” whereas Men’s Conferences are “ stop being so weak, you need to change, you need to be better, why would anyone want any of you in your pathetic states”. Like Matt said both suck, but only side is being told that they suck.

I don't know about men but women do need to be built up. We often already feel so down and insecure about ourselves that we need to hear positive affirmation. I remember there's been psychology studies about how women view themselves (I think it got something with mirror and looks) and how men view themselves. Women more often than men judged themselves as uglier and less attractive whereas in men the tendency was the opposite. Also, it may to do with how we're socialized and what we expect from socialization. Often when I write something and the other person is a man and especially when they don't realize I'm a woman, they'd be what I'd interpret as rude and dry. Kind like what you described the men's conferences type. Its probably not intended as rude at all, it's how men speak to themselves I guess? But to me as a woman that seems rude, if that makes sense.
@dustinchang5089
@dustinchang5089 3 сағат бұрын
@@joane24 I know it’s not what you intended, but this could come across as dismissive if interpreted in an uncharitable sense, sort of a “hey put the focus back on women and our problems” sort of what-about-ism(I hope I’m using the term correctly) if you get what I’m saying. Again I know it’s not what you intended. I don’t think uplifting and encouraging women needs to come at the cost of uplifting and encouraging men and in the context of when Matt’s describing the “happy wife happy life” issues IMHO sacrificing one for the other is what’s happening. Husband has issue or legit criticism, put it aside for the sake of a women’s happiness/placating.
@joane24
@joane24 2 сағат бұрын
@dustinchang5089 I have no idea where you got this interpretation (the beginning of the post) from. As you said, that's not how I intended, and honestly, that wasn't even standing close to what I intended. Perhaps a point of reflection why would you immediately jump to this association? I think there's the certain difference between men and women, which you exemplified in your post, that from what I see, often leads to conflicts between them. One very typical example is when a woman talks about her problem, she expects understanding and consolation, nodding etc., not hearing a potential logical solution. Which men tend to give, not understanding why she's suddenly so angry at them while they're trying to be helpful. On the other hand, there's now more data how e.g. psychotherapy based on talking about emotions and affirmation doesn't work that well for men. It works for women, but not for men, on average. But various projects where men are engage together e.g. a workshop or repairing things together with other guys, works much better. Men also need different type of encouragement and my motivation.
@joane24
@joane24 2 сағат бұрын
@dustinchang5089 Re my last point, re motivation and encouragement. I remember hearing a podcast with a psychologist about differences in children boys and girls and how current education and type of teaching methodologies favor girls. Unfortunately don't remember the name. But there was this story, the kids had a picnic in the woods or something like that. Got papers and had to write a paragraph or a poem about their emotions or something similar. All girms did that perfectly and eagerly and it was great for them. All boys were so bored they made a bonfire from the papers they got. Which to them was hilarious. They got reprimanded for that, and written up for misbehavior. There's many teachers that misunderstand the differences between us. And it's no different when we grow up. So no wonder the female spaces will be (at least at the first sight) about belonging, affirming, positive encouragement.

where I got the idea(and it bears repeating that I know you didn’t mean it and I hope I’m given the same charity) is that the video and comment I made is focused on men and their issue and the very first thing said was “I don’t know about men but women…”, in the same way in which you are making very valid points about women and their struggles, if my response “yeah well I don’t know about women, but men…” wouldn’t you feel like the issue you brought up was just being brushed aside?

Happy wife, happy life works for a happy household IF the wife is the one taking responsibility for being happy. The woman sets the emotional tone of the household as a heart of the home. It is her responsibility to be cheerful and gentle. Not her husband's. And ironically, the happier a woman chooses to be, the more her husband will desire to keep her that way.

I always interpreted "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy," as, "If I love her as Christ loves the church and gave himself for it, my wife will be happy and will honor and submit to me." Not, "Submit to me and then I will love you as Christ love the church." I have to set the tone. Also, I really wish we would drop using the term "Conservative" when referring to Christians. Christ transcends all these worldly ideologies and labels. You are either a Christian or you are not. Christ did not fit in here in this world or under any of its labels and as his followers we should be striving for the same. And it 100% NOT better or even a good thing to be "following Andrew Tate"...

It's probably 1000% better to follow Andrew Tate than to be a self hating virtueless loser. To be at least wealthy, strong, young rich and handsome type of thing it's pretty difficult as a man and would require virtue and is a more Christ like thing to do than just to be a pathetic self hating modernist/secularist

i agree you set the tone. But the idea of "If i love her as christ loves the church---She'll submit to me." Is crap. You'll never be perfect, most likely. She should submit to an imperfect man. Courtship is for the man to see if the woman will submit, and for woman to see if man will sacrifice for her. You're still clinging to feminist ideas a bit. She should start submitting the deeper into courtship you are. If not, you either 1. have to talk to her about what's going on, or 2. leave We submit to an imperfect pope. Wife submits to an imperfect man. Yea the man should 100% be masculine and self-sacrificial. But if she marries you, she has a duty to submit, or it's a mortal sin. Don't date a feminist. Women submit to their bosses all the time at work, what're the chances her boss is loving her as christ loves the church? probably 0. Yet she still submits,

Sirach 25 23 A bad wife will make her husband gloomy and depressed, and break his heart. Show me a timid man who can never make up his mind, and I will show you a wife who doesn't make her husband happy. 24 Sin began with a woman, and we must all die because of her. 25 Don't let a bad wife have her way, any more than you would allow water to leak from your cistern. 26 If she won't do as you tell her, divorce her. Now obviously in Catholicism divorce isn't an option. The book of sirach is based. But also it opens the reality to men and women. Feminism is from satan. No such thing as Christian feminism it's the antithesis of it. Much like Judaizing Christianity.

Mary's idea that conservative men are able to stand up to women because they have corn is so, so wrong. They wouldn't be conservative if they "used" corn because the use of such material makes of you a relativist, a materialist, ultimately a Marxist. Rather, I would say to her, it is because corn shows very clearly the abyss that awaits you if you don't live by principles and have the humility to accept a Father God. So in a way, yes, corn *is* helpful to the conservative cause and young men. Because it illuminates the end of a road that is obviously bad once the end is seen.

@@seekingishwara737 I don’t know if it’s fair or logical to say that just because someone has a vice that it means they are completely devoid of a certain ideology. I think in the same way that an imperfect individual can still identify with Christ and Christianity, a person that struggles or struggled with an issue doesn’t get disqualified.

I know it almost sounds like a crazy connection she's making about porn and conservatism, but I think she could be right to some degree. Yes, it sounds dark and wrong, but we also know that Christ can make good out of evil, and I believe that's why He allows many evils to happen because He's omniscient, and knows it will lead to a greater good even if us humans cannot see it. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:8-9

Where are the great Christian single women that are hopefully still virgins at Like myself 30+ years . But I am even told that it may be too late for me to find someone like that that I’m going to have to accept a woman that’s not a virgin. I just feel like I missed my opportunity for that type of a woman and by still saving myself what will it be like for her if she’s not a virgin I really really want to get married one of these days .

@@wh5476 your biggest risk is getting taken advantage of by a ‘born again/reformed garden tool’ looking to grasp at a last chance in her late 20s/early 30s because she couldn’t close a deal first 10-12yrs of slinging it for free to any dude that gave her attention. Some people don’t got the friend group like others do like myself and when I ever masturbated it wasn’t because of the porn it was because of the orgasm. But now today, it’s hard to read a woman and it seems like online dating is the only way you can pretty much find a woman nowadays it seems like to me like that’s the new form of finding a woman nowadays. I live out in the country and it’s hard but the group hang outs like back then seems like it’s not there as much It’s a dangerous world nowadays to many crazy people walking around, then like it was in 2008 and - some years. I really don’t know where this young generation kids hang out anymore. Like myself, I’m having a hard time to finding a woman because I don’t have that friend group and I feel like my only alternative is online dating that I’ve never really done and kind of been eerie about it’s been hard, even trying to find some in church and not trying to be a creep at the same time. I honestly don't like online dating as it comes across as impersonal and like.... shopping or something. I think I'd rather meet more organically, but really those days are done. It really comes down to lack of availability and / or opportunity and this is highly dependent on where you live. For example, if you're in the Bible Belt and near a major city that has young (or I guess middle-age) groups, your chances are improved in terms of availability. Opportunity is something else though and is dependent on mutual interest and attractiveness. Really it comes down to who are you and what you want. If you're in the Heathen Northeast like I am, you're basically screwed.

My new religion is "Jobism". Based on the Book of Job, which is the happy end of our standard canon. We grow old, decrepit, and God/Satan tests us to our ultimate limits without killing us, until there is a sudden glorious reversal, and we begin aging in reverse.

Yes, I've done it before. It's really annoying at first, and you have ebbs and flows, so you *kind* of control it, but you keep getting that damn voice in the back of your head that's nagging you to death that you need to bust and it can really get intense. The whole, "Just get hobbies Bro" doesn't exactly work. You can kind of get out of it if you realize its your lizard brain that's acting out of desire for a physical sensation, you need to override it with a stronger sensation like punching yourself in the leg or taking an ice cold (or too hot) shower. Really you're just trying to do anything to shock your body and brain out of it. The problem is that these are often delaying actions, because that damnable desire keeps coming back.
