That was difficult to watch all the way through... Trump has a mental illness and it's an honest extrapolation hearing him talk: Obama seems normal, though further into his weaving of answers and points of view spirals to nowhere, which basically leads to the same place politicians dwell, on a roundabout of unaccountable affirmations and placating The American Dream to stay hopeful, kick the can down the road and don't fix what's perfectly broken.

In some ways he’s more insidious than Trump, bc while they both inspire a large number of Americans to believe change can come that will fulfill their lives with Trump the media and most institutions largely see him as anathema, and it can create more energy to inspire some progressive and left action… but with Obama (and largely with Biden) they buy the lie, they accept it into their tongues like a sacrament, and he is able to transubstantiate that “progressive energy” into more votes for democrats who serve God the Father: neoliberal capitalism… Ok maybe the metaphor is overboard, but I stand buy the point that these types of democrats can be more insidious than Trump. That’s not to say they do worse things, or Trump is less of a bad guy, don’t get what I’m saying twisted… I’m not the first person to talk about the dems taking any radical potential from progressives and leftists and repurposing it, nor do I say it as eloquently as others. Any and all HOPE put into these people as being a chance for CHANGE is at our own peril, is the bottom line. We need to defeat them, not beg them to be “more left”..

This is totally a put-on. Obama and Bill Clinton post-presidencies were very much the jetset Epstein Island/Hamptons crowd. The Bushes were grill-dads.

My family always talks about how their generational fear was nuclear war these mf don’t get that there is still the looming threat of nuclear war we just don’t think it’s as big of an issue as climate change! Yah get that? Climate change is something to fear more than being turned into a carbon shadow from a nuclear explosion
@CC-gy7el Жыл бұрын
There is still the looming threat of nuclear war but it’s been looming less close than it used to be (it very well could gain if we’re not careful though)
@ambatuBUHSURK Жыл бұрын
cold war was the worst based on nuclear close calls and military nuclear activities. It definitely is still looming because of unstable geopolitics but climate change is worse.
@Blashmack Жыл бұрын
To be honest, nuclear war was looming so much harder back then than how it looms today. Before all the treaties, decades of nuclear fear trauma affecting politicians, etc...

Call me a normie or a centrist hack or whatever you want, but Obama is an inspiring guy. He makes me want to keep trying and believe in progress, a lot of leftists make suicide feel like the only tenable option. Yeah, I get the retail politics and optics is corny but I'll take hope and change (even if mostly aspirational) over fatalism any day.
