In some ways he’s more insidious than Trump, bc while they both inspire a large number of Americans to believe change can come that will fulfill their lives with Trump the media and most institutions largely see him as anathema, and it can create more energy to inspire some progressive and left action… but with Obama (and largely with Biden) they buy the lie, they accept it into their tongues like a sacrament, and he is able to transubstantiate that “progressive energy” into more votes for democrats who serve God the Father: neoliberal capitalism… Ok maybe the metaphor is overboard, but I stand buy the point that these types of democrats can be more insidious than Trump. I also couldn't get through the whole interview but I think Hasan is being a little harsh on Hasan here. It's easy to ask super hard hitting questions when your entire income is based on you talking to chat, but Minhaj has to remain bookable (idk the right term) in order to do things like the daily show and even his own show on Netflix. I just hope when/if Minhaj gets on the Daily Show or his own show again he'll go back to being a bit more hard hitting like he used to be.
