Hatred or history? Flying Confederate flag reignites debate

I love our southern flag and i'm not a racist! I work with black guys and we get along fine. I think it should be our business to fly this flag and keep our statues up. You don't have to like it but we should have the freedom to do it!

Your moral decisions don’t have to line up with factual evidence to what this flag means... William Thompson designed and dictated exactly what this flag entails which was and IS “to maintain the heavenly ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race”. Now if the intent of southerners was to show pride for their heritage, I’d recommend they do one of two things: change the flag entirely so that there is no confusion of representation, or just act like the rest of the regions of the U.S. and proudly let the American flag be what they stand for. There’s no shame in those options.

Of course not, it’s a section of this country and there is no shame in that. But once facts and evidence are laid out for people to see, when they turn a blind eye to that, and continue to support something that has shameful representations... where do you go from there?

Southern Man just because you work with black guys and get along fine doesn’t mean you’re not racist. Papa Johns works with a lot of black peoples yet he’s a racist

It's like this! Your taking and messing with us but you don't think we should say anything about it. I'm a honest hard working American and we should have our rights and our freedom! You don't have to agree with it and you don't have to look at it! Everyone has their own opinions and I have nothing against it! No one is out there hollowing racist things or disrupting anybody lives but the ones that don't like the flag or statues. Some people just like to complain about everything!
