My two (almost three year-old) son loves your videos!! We always get excited to watch a new one together! As you were cutting the broccoli he said “where the garlic go?” He was just waiting for you to chop some garlic! He also loves when you find the “leetle whisk” thank you for making such lovely videos! This recipe looks delicious!! My son also said “ooh tofu! That look really good!”

100% am a spice queen. My wife is more of a spice princess, so I always tone down 2ish notches 😆 I just wanted to say, your videos are so well done. The way you put the whole recipe/cooking part at the beginning, with notes and explanations at the end, is clever and gives an excellent flow. Lastly, your "considerations" aka the alternatives for low sodium/too busy/soy free etc etc are so cool. I love that you make your recipes versatile for different diets/lifestyles/moods. I love to cook, and my favorite part is having the confidence and know-how to make adjustments on the fly, depending on this or that. You capture that spirit with these "considerations", and I'm sure you inspire many to have that confidence to try new things. All that is to say: you are very good at what you do. Can't wait to try this recipe. 💚

Made it last night, worked out great. If you wanted super crispy tofu you could do a deeper fry in a pan of oil and some more cornstarch on the tofu. As it was, I definitely got the takeout feeling. When are yall publishing a cookbook? Thanks for the vid

LOL, I accidentally made something VERY similar, almost identical, last night for dinner because I had all the ingredients and wasn't sure what to make! I really want to like tofu but I’ve heard that it takes on the flavor of what you cook it with. Is this true? I’m really trying to be healthier and I’m still working out the kinks. But I have definitely felt better since cutting out meat and chicken. I’m sure you hear this a lot but I enjoy watching your videos. They give me that ASMR hit.

toasted sunflower seed (or pepitas) oil?
@thenarddogcooks Жыл бұрын
good question! peanut oil or or another toasted seed oil works. If not, it wouldn't be completely derail anything. I made this with olive oil the first time i was testing and the family loved it. the toasted sesame oil was just one of those moments that after you tasted the recipe made with it, you would be like "ummm... had no idea it could be even better than the first time".

Vegetarianism & Veganism is about good health. A number of years ago, I learned in a lecture that the human body is unable to digest black pepper so it collects in the gallbladder. When I learned that, I never used it again because I knew of family members that had their gallbladder removed AND they used black pepper with a heavy hand. It doesn't mean my food is bland by any means. I add cayenne &/or red pepper 🌶 flakes, instead. Oh, white pepper is merely bleached black pepper.
@petergreening4810 Жыл бұрын
Actually, you are incorrect. While white and black pepper corns start out the same, they are picked at different times of ripeness and processed differently. Also, there is no bleach used in the processing of the white pepper.
@thenarddogcooks Жыл бұрын
thanks for sharing! my understanding is that eating "too much" of anything can be bad for you. black pepper its self is great and much better than its best friend salt. i believe this cant go for everyone as everybody is different. In my research, black pepper used in moderation is a good thing. also Vegetarianism & Veganism is a choice many folks have made for various reasons. health is certainly one but not solely.
