One answer to the Alex's criticism of Polly's "votes from birth" proposal (that it gives other family members a disproportionate vote) is to base constituency boundaries on all residents of whatever age, using the census. Even if you kept the voting age the same, places with a lot of young people and children would get greater representation than towns full of retirees like me.

I can't see pensions in the future these entitlements are funded by debt the question is who is going to buy the debt NHS school's and military spending is funded the same way 😊 bricks for the win the biggest purchasers of the debt is the bank of England and insurance companies and bank's and pension funds that's why banks are insolvent no loans no deposits and no deals their bond portfolios are underwater expect bank failure's in 2024 enjoy owning nothing and being happy 😊

Regarding Polly's heartbreaking story around 36 minutes. "Why would anybody do what's right in the national interest again in politics?" I understand the emotion, but underneath that emotion is an awful lot of conceit. As if the Lib Dems alone know what the right thing to do is, and the electorate doesn't. Obviously we don't know what would have happened if Clegg made a different decision, but looking at the state of the UK 14 years later, can you really still think it was right? Could things have turned out worse?

I think Polly's idea for people getting proxy votes for their children is short-sighted and unworkable and I think she would seriously contemplate stripping parents of the right to vote if she were ever to watch the documentary Shiny Happy People. Or any American reality TV show really.
