Excellent explanatory video as usual Terry, setting out the steps to take when identifying a basis for a claim against an employer. There is just one other thing I would add to the mix and that is the importance of keeping evidence such as dates, times of day, witness statements, records of meetings with managers, names of who attended those meetings, communication records, etc, the list is not exhaustive.

Thanks Dermot, yes good point, you need particulars and records to provide an evidentiary basis to stack up any claim👍 But my 4 questions are designed to ascertain whether you have one in the first instance, or just a whinge/complaint which will go nowhere🙃

1. Breach is statute2 2. Breach of contract 3. Breach of constitutional right (natural justice, fair procedures) 4. Is there a civil wrong that led to the employee making a loss (ie - tort/negligence principles If none of the above - employee has a grievance. Proceed with internal grievance process. If no joy - go to to wrc and you cd get a recommendation

If charged with an offence and subsequently found not guilty, can An Garda Siochana retain all the records, interviews, data and evidence etc, they collected, or can I ask they delete it? Thanks.

I would have thought they can retain the records, but you are free to ask anything of them-whether they accede to your request, however, is another matter
