Ok. The story with the ex giving her MILITARY PARTNER UNAUTHORIZED ANTIDEPRESSANTS ticks me off! Like, it’s one thing to be worried your partner might have depression from fighting in battles, but you don’t just give someone drugs like that without an official diagnosis! Especially if you don’t know how it’ll affect said person in question! And this is coming from someone with ACTUAL OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED DEPRESSION who does take antidepressants for it!

My hubby met my mother (divorced from dad). Over the next four years, he gently pointed out every incidence of bullying and gaslighting by her onto me. It took a while for me to realise that I was actually brainwashed by her. It took anotger two years to finally cut off all contact with her. The relief from the stress she put me under, was immense.

@nationalinstituteofcheese3012 theyre prescription only meds and nothing to sneeze at either. if the dad was prescribed them, that means something is *really* wrong with him. I was in the Mentor Program and my “Mentee” was a 12-year old who had a hard time using her “inside voice.” Everything she said was a high-pitched yell. Then I met her family. The whole family were yellers. Whoever yelled the loudest carried the conversation until the next yeller could take over. I heard very little of anything and got a headache that wouldn’t quit.

Her parents was against her signing a prenup before our marriage. I told them this was a non-negotiable, as I had considerable wealth. Knowing how contract signed 'under duress' could be invalid, I told them during a family dinner at a fancy restaurant SIX MONTHS before the wedding that she had to sign the prenup right now, or the wedding was off. She refused, parents shouted at me. I simply walked out. They didn't have the money to pay for the restaurant bill and had to call their son to come and pay for them. For five months, they were hounding me about the wedding; this had to be paid, this had to be organized, a decision needs to be made by me. I kept telling them the wedding was off, but they didn't listen. They even paid deposits on stuff. This went on up to a month before the wedding. Panic struck them when they saw on my Facebook that I had emigrated to Europe without telling anyone. They tried contacting me, but I told them all she had to do was sign a prenup. Now, it was too late. I heard she married a wealthy man a few months later, no prenup, just as she wanted. But within the first year, he became bankrupt and because she didn't sign a prenup, his debts were also her debts! Justice boner!

You: "knowing a prenup signed under duress would be invalid" Also you: "I gave her an ultimatum in front of her parents, at a public place that if she didn't sign the prenup RIGHT NOW, the marriage will be off." Actually, in the early 90s, when my mom met my progenitor (I never considered him like my dad, you'll see why...) after a big dispute with her parents, she noticed he sure acted jalous often. But then she though it was normal since it was her first real boyfriend and he knew she was ultra sociable and friendly with everybody. Then, after she learnt she was pregnant with me and talked with him about the possibilities of getting married while keeping her job as an hairdresser, she met his parents and his two older brothers. Then she saw what kind of people they were. His father was treating his frail sick wife like a house slave and belittled her, only dismissing it after like a joke. His brothers were still acting immature and even were at some point in the "business" of contraband cigarettes, even proposing my mom quits her job to help them with the money. Terrified, my mother nonetheless declined. Once, during a family supper with them, even though my father's chair was closer to the fridge and he was about to get himself a drink, his father ordered his son to sit down and to let my mom, whose chair was the most away from the fridge, be the one to stand up to grab him a drink, since "it was her job". My progenitor didn't say anything, agreeing with is dad. His father also often mentionned how he would also love to have grandsons one day, even after learning I was a girl soon to be born. Soon after, my mom noticed my progenitor would suddenly say more and more horrible stuff to her, ressembling more and more like his own father. Stuff like "that skirt is too short for your job, you cannot wear that" or "no, you can't see your friends/cousin tonight, you already saw them the other day". And then, some days after my birth, my mom woke up from her nightmare, now scared for my future within such a family. And so, she tearfully called back her own parents, telling them she couldn't take take it anymore and quitted her cruel fiancé for good, with only me in her arms and a few of our possessions in a bag. Right after, my grandpa and grandma automatically forgot the big dispute they once had with their daughter and rode about 6 hours non-stop to reach her. They hugged her and told her how much they loved her, how sorry they were about their past big dispute, and she hadn't to worry anymore. And so, they lovingly took us back to their house for 3 years, helped her so she could take the time to get a better job and afford her own nice appartment, without having to worry about me. At the end, just to say, thank you so much mom for your bravery, and also a big thanks to her parents. It's because of you three that I was able to grow up into the independant confident woman I am today. ❤

I went to spend the weekend at the family home of my now former fiancé “Cody”. The family was really unpleasant. They weren’t just awful to me, but to another guest, “Jerry”, brought over by Cody’s sister “Sheena”. Jerry was a Physician’s Assistant, but the dad of the family kept making fun of him for not being a doctor. The rest of the family accused Jerry of “wasting his life”. Sheena didn’t even try to defend him. Cody didn’t even try to defend me. The family judged me for being in showbiz, saying I may as well be riding in a caravan with a sentient wooden puppet, while under the watch of a big fat mean gypsy. I broke up with Cody after that weekend.

The lemon grab bit, funny as it was, probably (read: definitely) wasn't a good idea for a healing voice. And particularly the part at 8:04, I cringed *hard*.
