I’ve decided it’s not a good idea to clap back one day I was at my friends house and she has two cute kids and her mom was living with them and at the time I had Vitamin D Deficiency I told my friend “omg your kids are so cute if you don’t want them I’ll take them” just in a joking way and her mom was like “how you going to take care of the kids when you can’t even take care of yourself” I was so mad that I told the mom “aren’t you living with your daughter living off her and hubby paycheck because you don’t know how to take care of yourself” and I guess I clap backed where it hurt cause she started crying and I felt so bad after but at that moment she really upset me

I’m a Latina waitress at a Mexican restaurant and I was told “Oh you speak English very well” in the moment I didn’t take any offense since they were being nice white folks but I’m assuming they didn’t understand the context behind that comment as neither did I in that moment... until later on that day I thought about the comment and how I got so thrown off.
