100% correct. I thought my in-law family were the closest nit family group ever. Until I got brutally and suddenly discarded by the narcissistic ex-wife after 22 years. Then when people started to take sides (95% with the narcissist, 5% with me) the in-laws true colours started to show. That family was so enmeshed in their toxicity I couldn't believe what I was experiencing from people who I thought loved me to pieces. All because of the lies being spread by the narc ex-wife (smear campaign). Her own brother turned against her because he believed me so she disowned him. Her 3 sisters stood by her and also disowned their brother. Toxic and enmeshed as F.
