Carolyn, I have been rewatching your vids over and over because I feel so at home watching your family cook. Yesterday I made this salad. I didn't have green peas so I substituted with chopped sweet pickles and celery. OMG my family absolutely love it. Even my potato/macaroni salad hater hubby(due to supermarket deli stuff he grew up eating) loved it so much he even took to work for today's lunch!! Thx so much.

Pineapple in potato/macaroni salads? Wow, I will definitely try that next time. I make Japanese style potato/macaroni salads with sliced cukes, lots of boiled eggs, cabbage, and ham with Japanese Mayo(if budget allows.) Imitation crab and pineapple sound so tropical and yummy. The first time I had Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, over 50 years ago, this is what I had. I substituted artificial crab for canned crab meat. I moved back to the Mainland and eventually stopped making it several years ago. You just spurred me to make it again. Sadly my husband is not here to enjoy it. Mahalo.
