This happened in the airport, the poor girl in the stall next to me started early, she was in tears, and I had several pads in my purse. The gasp of surprise and delight was pretty awesome. She was so grateful that she had someone to help. “You are my ANGEL!” The whole restroom heard it!

Had this happen to me as a teen. I was mid-dance performance in hs at an event venue and had an Oh S*** moment. Kept saying "No no no..." and freaking out when an Angel appeared. She asked what was wrong, I explained what happened and directed her to where my mother was and her very distinctive hair do. She left and came back with a tampon, didn't even bother looking for my mom. I will forever be grateful for that woman. 💛 I always keep extra in my purse incase someone else has the same surprise. Coworkers now know to come to me in emergencies 😂

@@icarusbinns3156I was in the restroom at a local amusement park once and overheard what were clearly two barely-teenaged girls having an urgent conversation in which one got her period (or at least was lacking protection) while there with her friend and friend’s mother. I came out of the stall and asked the girl standing outside if her friend was okay. I was informed that she needed a pad. I, of course, had one in my purse because I almost always have one in my purse, regardless of time of month, and offered it. “I remember what it’s like to be young!” I said. Seriously, you could not pay me to go back and do being young and inexperienced again! 😰

Oh yes. The shuffling waddle of stuffed TP. I remember those days. When I was young I just got to a point of wearing panty liners every darn day. The due to the pain and nausea I talked my mom into taking me to the obgyn. Once I got on the pill it helped a bit. But quite frankly I really only got better after having my daughter. Not sure why it helped. I also used the implant birth control. Got it for $6 by letting my obgyn teach me primary care dr how to do it. Lol never hurts to be a guinea pig lol

In a pinch I've had to use the stack of paper towels from a public restroom in the undies "trick." It's not the best but it gets the job done. The old bag tampon can be saved by a zippered bag. You can carry a bag with a couple pads, panty liners, tampons, and individually wrapped feminine wipes without taking up a ton of space. Pain pills can be tossed in if you or your friends get bad cramps and those can come in little packets too.

My advice is use a period pantie or an adult diaper on a train or airplane if you are on your period. They cut down on mess and dont bunch up. I also recommend a dark color of yoga pants and one of those hand warmers for cramps.

Oh yeah ! Though cotton works really well. Thick cotton you have to tear yourself. It smell like Hell when you take it off, but never had a leak with it. Now I use toilet paper I would fold multiples time. It's cheaper and it doesn't smell, but it might leak, especially if you can't check in the toilet every other hours.

Buy a reusuable menstrual cup or disc (made of rubber or silicone)! I bought one 10 yrs ago bc I was sick of having to pay at least $30 / month to have a periodon at least 2 large boxes of tampons (which is why cups/discs aren't advertised n many women are kept ignorant about their existence and use). 10yrs and I haven't had to pay for a period again.

I was 12 when I got my first period (I thought I was dying!) Forget the free pads, why did the bathroom in the fancy French restaurant in France NOT HAVE A TOILET TO SIT ON??? I was so confused and the cramps were so bad. What made it worse was my mother came to see if I was okay and I screamed out, "NO!", and she said "Okay." and walked away from me! I have three daughters, and from the age of 11/12 I gave them a ‘lady bag’ to take to school with them. It was a small make up bag with a couple of pads, tampons, panty liners, intimate wipes, nappy bags and a clean pair of pants. Over the school years I had to restock them many times, because not only did my daughters get caught short at school but they were known by all their friends to have emergency supplies on hand, much better than going to the school nurse and being given a massive maternity-type pad like they did when I was a schoolgirl 😂

My high school use to have period emergency kits in the councillor’s office. Apparently Tampax had donated a bunch of kits with multiple sizes of pads and tampons to the school so if you needed one you would be given a box with all the stuff in it. Thankfully the school wasn’t thrifty about them and would just give you one if you needed it.

Yes. It's usually a cardboard one, and each end of the paper is kind of dirty 😂 you've had to have one of those at least once. I buy the plastic ones now. They don't get as dirty.

Mine is exactly the same way. The only thing that saves me is the sharp pain in my left boob that acts like an early warning system. The rest of my body is in cahoots with Period, but Left Boob is the snitch we all need in our lives.
