Thats because Hedera is constantly selling to pay for their employees and to give grants away. There is still a massive 18 billion more HBAR tokens to dump. Its not ending anytime soon. Plus no enterprise is actually using the network, nor is retail. All of their transactions right now stem from 1 usecase, and they are using free HBARs that Hedera is giving them. They havent paid for anything. Essentially there is no demand for HBAR from enterprises.

Crypto is still in a bear market so it makes sense that HBAR is priced at 5 cents. Also HBAR is still in its infancy. It has great potential, but adoption needs to grow. My final thing with HBAR is that there is no mining costs so the price will grow with adoption and hype nothing else. (FYI Mike bought HBAR before it hit the crypto exchanges so it is kind of his darling.)

so my question to you regarding currency and future taxes is.. what if most countries use (outside of the usa) use our currency as a median of exchange and they dont get taxed in the future being a different country? obviously they are getting somewhat taxed with inflation but not as much as their own currency? have any insight as to why thats worked so far for them more than us the last couple decades?

There's a lot of talk about what hbar can do but not much talk about how it does it. It is missing some serious technical details which is necessary to convince a newcomer hbar is doing what it claims. Couple comments and questions: 2:30 Should mention that Dash also has fast settlment finality thanks to chainlock instantsend. 9:20 What guarantees is there that fees will remain low on hbar even if its market cap shoots up? Is the fees not paid in hbars which its usd value could fluctuate? 15:00 how is this usd represented on hbar's smart contract? Are those usd backed by a 3rd party aka. like stable coin or is it algorithmic something like terra luna? One of the things I didn't like is that hbar doesn't seem to have trezor keepkey support which is an absolute preq for me before even considering a coin or token. There's also talk of defi but no mention of whether there's plans to integrate hbar into a dex, like thorchain or maya. By the way, Dash just got integrated into maya today. Other's in comment have already mentioned it but hbar currently has high inflation; bad tokenomics. Guest didn't mention that at all. Last comment, there are many videos on utube that eli5's how bitcoin works, does hbar have any such videos? That will help fill in the technical gap that's missing in this interview.

At this point, I require precise mrkt trajectory information, but I find myself unsure about the appropriate course of action. An obvious way to Invest for a recession is to buy shares in businesses that are likely to experience steady demand even in a downturn. I hold HBAR….important to know HBAR inflation rate is pretty high compared to other crypto currencies Same way the US dollar inflates over time…HBAR does as well…new tokens are put into circulation at a pretty high rate…same way new dollars are printed diluting the value. Important info to know…. Same way you are penalized for saving dollars via inflation….you are penalized for holding HBAR for long periods of time due to inflation I hold some because i believe it will do well during the next parabolic crypto run up. But its important to understand the asset

I don't think just looking at high inflation is the important factor here -- maybe on a shorter timeframe okay but what does the emission curve look like long term? btc and eth was like that too when it launched. I'm checking coingecko and cmc and the hbar tokenomic info is saying it has a max supply of 50 billion with current circulating supply of ~32.4billion. I would expect the emission and therefore the inflation to approach 0 asymptotically as time goes on. If that's true then it is completely different to fiat and comparing it to usd would not be a fair assessment since the latter has no upper supply cap.

I understand that a lot of tokens are exact copies of prior tokens because their is no copywrite or ownership of the code, its open. How do you know HBAR won't be copied exactly, or mostly and then improved, and what would that do to HBAR is it occurred?

The issue with all DLTs is this......why should any Government, corporation etc. empower and rely upon a 3rd-party and utilize their ledger? Also, tech can be replicated/copied/surpassed/purchased. Governments and large corporations can just as easily build their own DLT or acquire one and take it private (and off the market) if they want/need to. Mind you, in the case of Hedera, it's patent has already been acquired by the Governing Council. The Governing Council can run the DLT at losses for eternity, and keep it for their own use (if the see fit). There are absolutely no guarantees investors can/will gain from speculating in DLTs (Hedera or any other for that matter), and the absence of laws to protect investors make the space rife for rug pulls (even highly sophisticated ones)

QUESTION: Michael, your productions are excellent and I'm grateful for your work. But with HBAR, please clarify something for me, a very unsophisticated analogue guy in a digital world: You understandably are curious as to why HBAR hasn't significantly increased in value, but isn't that because unlike Bitcoin, HBAR isn't characterized by scarcity? I really don't know, but I have bits and pieces of it all in my old brain and I'm trying to more fully understand this. I get (in general terms) that HBAR is not blockchain, is faster, etc. But when you get right down to it, isn't it the case that unlike the Bitcoin-type cryptocurrencies, HBAR is really little more than a 'platform' on which various persons/banks/gov'ts/whatever can create or build something that in fact is characterized by scarcity? ...such that if that's correct, then the 'amount' of HBAR is NOT limited, unlike Bitcoin, which by virtue of the 21 million coin maximum limit makes it a limited resource characterized by scarcity, right? Add to that what your guest (Brandon) mentioned about their ability to shard/split it countless times to accomodate growth, and there's no scarcity at all to it. Right? And if that's the case, then unlike Bitcoin or other such scarcity-characterized crypto-coins, while I can only begin to understand how the HBAR technology is poised to change the world, it sounds like from the perspective of an average guy like me HBAR becomes little more than something to perhaps invest in but the relative value of which can never explosively grow (or shrink) the way Bitcoin can. Am I misunderstanding this? I'd be sincerely grateful if you could bring some more clarity. Meanwhile, please keep up your outstanding work.

Hey apple, HBAR has a total supply of 50 Billion so yes, it is capped and doesn't have an unlimited supply. And while it is divisible to an extreme decimal so is bitcoin with its satoshis. The reason These banking coins and major ALT coins such (XRP,XLM,HBAR,XDC,ALGO) have a massive supply in the tens of billions is because they were designed with major Multiple trillion-dollar use cases and designed for massive liquidity between major world leading businesses such as google for one example for the new revolution of moving Currency over the web/blockchain. Once we start moving the financial system onto these blockchains/consensus algorithms and web 3 starts really getting traction this is when we will see the mass adoption and the price should reflect that. I tried downloading some of their software, weather be it a wallet or a node. At this current state they do not make this software available for people under specific hardware requirements which are server level requirements and are far above the smartphone or personal laptop level of computational power. If you want to learn more about digital assets, I strongly recommend Matthew Kratter of Bitcoin University on this platform. If you want to invest in a coin because of "it's technology", then remember, there will always be a coin with a better technology next month. There are thousands of other Hbars out there, but only one endorsed by Mike Maloney. Investing in tech startups (even if they issue a coin) is not the same as investing in Gold, Silver or Bitcoin.

There are 0 live enterprise usecases on Hedera. Enterprise doesnt use it, they usually go with ETH or MATIC as Hedera hasnt got enterprise or retail adoption. Most of the GC members are on the council to get paid the $250k a year thats funded from retail.

I still hold some of my original bag, but have come to the conclusion that as far as crypto investments go there are far better risk/reward projects out there. The tech is good but I would advise people to separate supporting a project from investing in a project - the two don't have to always go together. I still support the vision and hope they do well.

For me I'm mostly looking for fair launch coins with decent tokenomics (no unfair token allocations or excess dilution from emissions), newer tokens that haven't experienced a bull yet (most of the best performers last bull were not around in 2017), smaller market caps, not in the top 50 yet, etc.

When bitcoin price decreases hbar decreases but when bitcoin increases hbar does not. From there you can see that there is more to the price than just allocation from the foundation to build the infrastructure. I still smell a 50% drop from the current price soon.

Keep in mind the entire space don't have regulatory clarity yet. Even if an asset is very valuable, real money can't invest in it yet. So, this is a golden opportunity for the retail to get in.

FIS is on the Hedera GC and was selected as a certified service provider. Hedera Hashgraph is ISO20022 compliant, so it would make sense that FIS would use it for FedNow.
