Nate has version 1 of the Blickman and I have v2. Both are great to use and do a great job. I got mine from my local HBS and paid more than your $99 / free ship deal, but I love supporting my friend’s shop. I have been using it a lot more as the brew schedule has stepped up. My younger son has the brew bug now. Watch out guys. He’s going to be a contender! HHBW Matt. Elder loves ya!

Matt, you are kicking out some really awesome videos these days; just want you to know how much I appreciate the effort you are putting into these...very well done! Glad I played a small part in convincing you to invest in some Blichmann tech! Cheers!

I love the simplicity of the gun, very easy to take apart and put together again which is great for cleaning. Fills the bottles quite quickly as well. It is expensive but I haven't regretted buying it at any point which kind of makes it worth the money right?

I've used it twice now and love it. Thank you for your review, it helped me make a quicker decision. Others in the community gave good feedback on it as well. It really does make bottling feel less annoying and I noticed right away better carbonation in the bottle.

Surely the gas tube is inside the bottle with beer in so must be sanitised ?

This is true.

Hey Matt, this is Bohern from HBT forum. I was doing research on the beer gun and found this but my questions are regarding the Spike System. You and I have talked in the Spike thread but figured I'd ask the questions here. 1- I noticed when doing your mash out you just used the pipe spike supplied and didn't use a hose and just let it trickle down the side of the mash tun. Is this something you do while mashing, and if so does it cause any channeling issues? 2 - When doing the sparge do you start draining the mash tun before you add any water to the mash tun? Thanks for the info, just curious about your process.

Hi Bohern, I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I need to get better at going back and seeing comments on old videos. To answer your questions: 1) I have been using the spike side tube for recirculating the mash w/o any problem. I still have my SS Brewtuch sparge arm device from my previous system, but have yet to try it in the Spike System. It doesn't seem to be needed. 2) Yes, I start draining the mash tun first to get the flow dialed in going to the BK, then I start sparging with new HLT water. Hope this helps.

@@WreckedBrewery I have been wanting to just use the tube but I was afraid of getting channeling. I attach a short run of silicone tubing and lay it on top. I may give your way a try on my next brew. Thanks for the reply

@@Bohern1 I didn't notice much channeling or loss of efficiency so I haven't changed it. I also have the flow rate pretty light.
