The protoss played very badly for the first 8 minutes of the game, no pressure, no scouting, bad build order, late third, late upgrades, bad probe production, nonsensical push timing. Which is why the zerg was ahead despite not playing well either. Just afterwards it was very one-sided.@@finrodfel06

I know viper is most popular, and objectively better, but my favorite way to respond to a toss army like this is to go spire, build corruptor, and immediately make greater spire. Take a fight just to pick off laser boys then morph broods. As a lower 4k guy I find it an easier way to play and the brood switch often does them in.

The problem with that at higher mmr is that you are supposed to die before the broodlords are out, unless you are pretty far ahead. A broodlord army is however much better than a lurker viper army.

When protoss lost Auir, they lost the ability to make dragoons, so all remaining dragoons were upgraded with armor and shields to make them tougher and renamed to Immortal. Granted, this is old lore and Bliz has a tendency to change and retcon it at the drop of a hat, so who knows.

Funnily enough, Immortal suits in the lore are basically just wheelchair with guns. They give it to crippled protoss who still want to continue serving but they're crippled enough that they need the suit to move around and fight.

Seeing games like this makes the masters to diamond gap look so much closer than it feels when playing. Bro was on even footing. Slapped away the first push. Had lurkers on the outside bases but nothing for the zealots to kill? If the lurkers are hidden what does zealots attack? Drones lol. It's very obvious and simple. Yep and didn't even try to make infestors or vipers. The fact that the toss didn't end the game sooner and just survived until zerg gave up feels like Z is the imba one here. P is using map vision and army movement to be in the right place every time. If he messes up once those LURKERS could've actually done some damage. Great job by the Protoss

i have never played sc2, i've watched many many tournaments. If there is anything i got from that is that protoss is the shittest race and if anything terran is the devs' favourite But since i have never played i can't say if that applied to lower ranks i guess, maybe protos shines in ranked? It's just funny to me that something can be called OP when clearly it doesn't work in pro play, so it must have counter (good ones at that)

Oman. The game is almost perfectly balanced at the top level, and if there is any ,, favorite race" then it's Zerg (broodlord infestor in wings and swarm hosts in hots)

The game is balanced around professional play, and that makes sense given how good it is as a competitive game, but unfortunately that creates alot of complaints. Protoss is probably slightly underpowered at the highest lvl, but because the game is so complicated, protoss has certain mechanics that makes it easier to make certain mistakes and at pro lvl that matters less since the pros are so used to the core mechanics they rarely have any issues with this. Like scouting protoss is probably harder but at top lvl they are so good at scouting it doesn't influence the game, and for that same reason terran will seem harder because of some of the basic unit micro: Protoss and Zerg both have alot of micro but the Terran micro is very necessary even at low lvl compared to the protoss army which should be microed to perform best but can survive against low lvl players either way.

I'm a 2700-3200 MMR player. I stick around when I see my opponent is a masters player because of people like Baler. I bet he has an APM around 180 and clicks things fast, yet does not know how to play. A real masters level player could have picked this toss player apart with just lings and nydus. Every Zerg i play and get to the 14 min mark that can hold me to 3 base has max creep, 9 bases, getting upgrades and is just sending waves of units into all of my bases. This masters player "baler is a fake masters. He never multi tasked or did ling flooding, kept bashing into static d with his whole army, no changlings, ZERO spell casters.... Cmon. Baler plyed like a plat player, at best.
