Men started disappearing in the Ohio woods, and they had been going there following up on an advert on Craigslist to watch over a farm. When one man emerged, barely escaping with his life, the police went in. What they found were many graves, and one psychopath. But he did have help.

I saw another story on this case where Tim Kern’s sons were interviewed. They said that once when they were kids their dad was supposed to come visit them, but his car broke down. They were disappointed that they weren’t going to see him, but several hours later he showed up- on a bicycle! He borrowed one from a friend of his just so he could see his sons. I wanted everyone to know how much he truly loved his kids!

Thank you for that info. It gives me a mixed feeling of, I'm not sure happy/sad are the right words used to describe the feeling but its the best I can come up with. It makes his death a little sadder, but also gives a little depth to the victim.

Fun fact: I was one of the people who responded to the ad. I lived in nky at the time and was 18 and needed to get out of my parents place. The dude was super chill over the phone but refused to let me live on the property because I was "to young" and he was looking for someone more "trustworthy and older". And I legit begged this dude at one point to let me stay ok the property and work (I have farm hand experience) I didn't know what he had done till last year and had a panic attack at work.

Wow. I don't think you were "too young" as he told you. I think what he really meant was "you're too young because your parents will come looking for you." Scary freaking thought. As my mom always said, there's a silver lining behind every dark cloud. What seemed like a dark cloud to you at the time (not getting the job because you were too young), was actually the silver lining, the God smack that saved your life.

Can we take a moment to appreciate Scott Davis' bravery & cleverness, outwitting a man who had grown confident in his killing abilities & was in a location familiar to him? Scott had nerves of steel to lay low in an unknown location while losing blood from his wound, & then had the physical & mental strength to find a house amongst that wilderness during nightfall so he could survive & sound the alarm for others. I'm sure some of it was instinctual but it still is impressive & courageous. Good on you Scott. I wish you peace.

every murder case is tragic for the victims, but this one broke my heart in a particular way. Maybe because the men were just... so excited for their opportunity and filled with hope for their future, and then shot in the back of the head. Think you might have that a little backwards, not making excuses but rather the poor upbringing in the first place, was the road to where this all ended. Many people get confused about that, think someone can just turn 18 and unlearn all the crap their parents filled their head with, but more often than not, turning 18 just means an additional threat of homelessness as a means of control, which many can escape by finding employment but cost of living went up more than minimum wage and many areas, pre-covid were short on livable wage paying jobs, especially if you're a fat lazy psycho-fvsk like our killer.

Thinking of how he must've felt, going from the relief of finally catching a break to the cruel reality of why he'd been brought out there is one of many reasons I hope he's left this weary world for someplace he can finally rest -- and know that Richard will not be joining him.

For those looking for jobs, some advice - if they offer to take you in their vehicle somewhere, decline, anything could happen, you could end up stranded, you could be taken advantage of, you could be attacked, point is something could happen to you and you’d have no escape. Ask if you can follow in your own vehicle (if you trust him/her enough to follow with your own vehicle), if he/she acts sketchy, tries to convince you to go in his/her car, gets aggro, then somethings immediately not right. Just don’t get into his/her car if he/she offers to take you somewhere, you dunno what kind of crazies you’ll come across in life.

Craigslist isn’t the problem…. never tell an online stranger you’re a loner without many friends and family. NEVER meet them alone. If a job or place is secluded and out of town you should also make some calls to public officials in that area to verify the facts. That monster was infuriating. I’m sure he’s buried more than 4 bodies.

Also if you meet someone through any site ALWAYS bring someone else with you (if you can) & if you can't make sure it's in a public place. There was a man in Fort Meyers, FL. who preyed on homeless, down on their luck men. He offered to pay them for photographs taken in the woods with a little bondage involved. This man tied these poor guys to the trees and abused and tortured them, most died. No one knew these poor men ,they were transients. But the word got out on the street and he was ultimately caught and thrown in prison. The big question was and is, how many others had he killed? Really tragic story. Mike, I’m so glad you covered this case. I’m from Marietta, Ohio and this was a fairly huge deal when the news came out. Richard Beasley used to frequent both the Shoney’s and Bob Evan’s restaurants in Marietta and it’s where he met with all of his victims.

Craigslist isn't totally useless. There are a lot of items for sale on there, which you can safely purchase if you handle your transactions in a totally public, busy place. I adopted my hairless cat, Kenny, from Craigslist on April 28, 2008. He was the best thing that ever came into my life, and I miss him every day. R.I.P. I've watched most if not all the cases on this channel, but for some reason found this stuck with me long after. I think it's so sad that all the victims were just looking for a job to get by, some wanted to just be in a better situation- but ended up losing their lives to this sicko. ☹️ On another note we need to get Mike's subs up, come on! ( It's rare he asks!)

You're right, it's a waste of public tax money and Oxygen keeping them alive for so long, they need to speed the process up. Also, they need to put pedos and sex offenders on death row too as there's no rehabilitation when it comes to these people, they always reoffend, they can't help themselves, let's just get rid and make the world a better/safer place.

Go rent a 30 foot straight truck from home depot, or wherever. Drive it around for an hour or 2, just until you're comfortable. Take it to a DMV a take your C-Class license test, imagine a regular driving test, just in a big truck. Apply for driving jobs requiring a C-class license, most have a starting wage of 20ish an hour. After that, save a little cash from your new decent job and find your path. It's what I did, if I can, you definitely can too.
