Came from an extremely abusive, broken home where my mother was neglectful and enabled my brothers abuse, and my brother would physically abuse me whilst I was expected to bring him up, too much pressure for a teenager and I got into lots of trouble from 16-17. The courts got understandably fed up, and put me on remand. That put me on the straight and narrow, it rehabilitated me. I expected the courts to just sentence me for however long and was actually looking up getting an education in prison (and the qualifications would actually come from the University of the Highlands and Islands, not the prison itself), I didn’t really interact with other prisoners and would sit quietly in my cell and read most of the time. This was all conveyed to the courts who recognised I’d been rehabilitated, I basically just needed scared straight. They could see I was, and let me go after 6 weeks with bail conditions (like a curfew from 7pm-7am). I followed them without argument. On top of that I did actually sign up for College (the Scottish highlands aren’t that big population wise so it’s both a university and college) to do computing and got a full time job. I left my family home around 18/19 and haven’t looked back. Clearly I was actually rehabilitated, but this man is pure evil, grinning and treating it like a game. I'm so confused here. Who's Lori? Who's Casey?
@cyberwarcraft90363 жыл бұрын
(@ 2:09) By the way, this case is massively complex. It came out later that the pipe Scotty "found" in Casey's bedroom wasn't hers. In fact, Scott planted it so that her mother, Lori, would think Casey had reverted to drug use (the condition for her living with her mother was "no tolerance") knowing that this would lead to Mary kicking Casey out, therefore isolating her and creating the condition where Casey was easier prey. All this was just to get Casey separated from her mom...so to make it easier to distance Scott just enough from Casey so that when he spirited Casey away to murder her (and do heaven knows what else prior to killing her) he'd isolated her just enough from her mom that he could use a barely plausible alibi that he could gaslight Lori about his involvement in her murder. And also, Casey's disappearance bought Kimball some required time to manipulate Lori by getting her dependent on him as an "FBI agent" who could find Casey...while his true aim was to use her to set up his shell "boeuf biz." A device he could front as a cash-based business for the sole purpose of depositing that $80k of bad checks in a viable looking business account. It's conjectured he worked the false scenarios about the missing women as a complicated long-con that cover his: cash crimes, manipulation of the FBI as a snitch so they'd bail him out and deflect interest and from his crimes, and also to commit sexually sadistic serial murder of the women. As Mike said, no one knows how many women self-named "Hanibal" Scott Kimball killed as he spent time in many states. Even though the FBI is investigating the case of what they now classify as a serial killer, they carry considerable shame regarding the handling of Kimball. Because it's doubtful he'd have gotten out of jail in the first place to free to kill an unknown number of women without the cooperation of the FBI. All can be chalked up to the feds wanting too much to use him as an informant (in a "case" where he used his skill as a conman, where he fabricated a crime that would nab him from the FBI a "Get out of Jail Free" card...then playing a "UNO reverse card" on them to use the agency.) Kimball's skill as a conman "snitch" about a crime that wasn't even real bought him the freedom to kill. The story here is that Scott was serving time with a drug dealer, that had a girlfriend who was scheduled to testify in a federal case about a drug ring...but Scott created the story that the dealer wanted to kill his witness girlfriend...because he could envision his situation being exploited as an opportunity to offer the feds something made up would buy him a ticket back to the street. The FBI has historically had problems like this with "valuable informants." slipping the leash and committing serious crimes while being protected by the feds.[see: Bulger, Whitey; and Gravano, Sammy - aka "the Bull."'] _If_ the FBI hadn't suffered from "linkage blindness" regarding Scotty because he'd conned them into thinking he had insider knowledge of a number of high-profile federal cases, and because the agent handling Kimball were a bit too eager to close those cases, Scott conned the feds into protecting him as a valuable informant. The least the FBI should do is place someone, like the agent said at the end of Mike's video, working on exposing all of the unknown crimes Kimball committed...because they made his killing spree possible. And thanks to Mike for tackling this massively complicated case in a short 30-minutes so well. He packed a dazzling panorama of information about the Scott Kimball case into his time-limited video narrative. Kudos, Mike...see you soon. Take care.

@richardclifford0032 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you about the FBI. As a young CID Agent many decades ago, I learned first hand what a rogue informant can do. My senior partner's snitch single handedly sank around a dozen drug cases due for court. The lesson I learned was it's OK to use informants but NEVER trust them. Later in my career, I'd test my informants with disinformation and if it ever came back to me, I knew they were playing both ends and I'd violate our agreement and inform the prosecutor in question. As for the FBI, I retired in 1998. From 1975 to 1998, I investigated numerous investigations with them. In my opinion, they were highly overrated and lacked thoroughness. They had a bad habit of believing their own press and failed to address their own shortcomings. Today's FBI are nothing more, as proven by the false Russia probe, than hired guns. As a LEO, I swore an oath to conduct impartial investigations which I did for 23+ years in seeking the truth. I doubt the current FBI can utter the same oath.

Ugh... Scott was LOVING that interview. He couldn't keep the grin off his face as he bragged about how smart and crafty he was. And the interviewer (who I've seen on 60 Minutes before and actually really like) seemed to just be feeding his ego to keep him talking. Gross. Maybe television reporters like this shouldn't interview serial killers. Generally speaking after they are caught they like to brag. They like the attention. Maybe reporters shouldn't give them the satisfaction. The stories should be told. And the focus should be on the victims. I appreciate the way Mike handles these stories. Less sensational, more grounded, with care shown to covering the victims' story.

Ever heard of gaslighting? Manipulation? The concept of a trauma bond forming when a narcissist or sopciopath palys with your mind (often very subtly at first). The human brain is more wired to ignore red flags for the sake of trying to keep a sense of safety than to noticing them, you'd be surprised at how glaringly obvious and threatening some things need to be to register, and by then our limbic system has often adapted in unfortunate and subconcious ways. Holy Mike! I hit pause at the end of the video and my entire feed, the entire screen was a dozen 'That Chapter' vids. Way to advertise Mike! Another good vid. Congrats on your 1 million. Deserved, I'm sure. There seems to be a good deal of production work, vids, music and puttin' it all together for us in every video, and two a week no less! So, Kudos.

This guy got wayyyyyy too much credit. He's an idiot, he just pays good attention and blends into the backround and simply takes advantage of situations a normal person wouldn't want to deal with. He's also simply a coward murderer who killed defenseless woman and an old fat man. Thanks Mike ❤👏

"Takes advantage of situations others wouldn't want to deal with" You described a clinical Narcissist in a nutshell, this one with psychopathic traits. They're usually stupid because they think they're superior beings and why would a superior being need to learn from others. They operate on a different level to most people and most instinctually don't want to deal with it so they can bluster and bluff through situations. The uncles cover story is a prime example, won the lottery and went to Mexico with a stripper, so stupid.

Nup. He's clearly not an idiot. What he is, is dangerous.
@w0mblemania3 жыл бұрын
@Josie The problem with labelling people "idiots" is that we underestimate them. e.g. calling Trump, Hitler or Stalin "idiots" is all very satisfying, but it ignores the fact that they aren't idiots at all; they're foolish, but above all dangerous.

SUCKMEOFF ROPER Correct me if I’m but I THINK you mean “Yaser Abdel Said” who was arrested 3 weeks ago(closer to two from the point your comment was made). Your point still definitely stands but is a good bit weaker. Realistically not enough resources are spent on Trump to impair their abilities. OP just wanted to toss in a political opinion with the goal of pointing out the perceived paranoia of the fbi rather than to point out a massive hit to funding.
