I'm SO tired of the 'anxiety/depression, on the autism spectrum' defence being used successfully in court! I suffer from 2 of the 3, and my ex suffers from all 3, with PTSD on top of it all, and neither of us have ever contemplated killing ANYTHING, not even a spider on the wall. This argument is an insult to others who suffer with these issues and do no wrong to anyone.

Don’t treat getting drunk in public as a form of recreation in the first place. (Edit: that came off as harsh and victim blaming which I didn’t intend. I just think that alcohol is a really dangerous drug. It isn’t just the negative impact which it has on your health directly, but it’s also the way it encourages you to let your guard down and be too friendly and trusting. Rest In Peace Julia, you seemed like a really lovely person, this should never have happened to you and those two men are entirely responsible for this tragedy ✌️💕)

@@buttercxpdraws8101 Not wanting to victim blame either, but in the video footage she does appear to be quite intoxicated as she walks over to her killer and proceeds to unzip his top and put her hands on him... Obviously doesn't warrant her being killed, but with hindsight it wasn't a good move... What That Chapter and so many other True Crime channels tells us is that are a ridiculous number of evil/crazy people who are capable of murder around. Getting drunk and going to a strangers house just seems too risky these days, I guess it's always been risky but with the advent of KZbin we're now more wary of just how many nutters surround us. I warned my mother, she lives next door, when my father died last November to be more careful about her interacting with other people and to not share too much information. She is always 'kidding' and somewhat gregarious because she likes people. She told the garbage collectors that since her husband died she needs to get rid of tools and if they knew anyone and here is the phone number. About a month later one of the men called and said, "I see the way you look at me and I would like to come over," my mother is nearly 86 years! I reminded her about my warning and how she needed to be careful. I think she is now paying attention. I hope.

It's easy for people to forget that there doesn't have to be an extensive storyline or series of events that can lead to their horrific demise at the hands of another human. It can be as simple as this story, a chance encounter with a sociopath at the pub after taking the wrong bus. Whatever the intention you have does not always equal that of a stranger. Better to say goodnight and make it home safe. Poor Julia, I can only imagine how frightened she was. I'm glad this sack of shit was caught.

@Tigerlily81 i didn’t say anything about drinking or dancing but you can pray to the LORD for Him to take a predator away from you, the bible says the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. and God says “call to Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.” and in james 5 it says that elijah was a man like us and he prayed to God that it would it rain, and it didn’t rain for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. and that’s one of the worst excuses i ever heard to sin, imagine a murderer telling a judge “but people have been murdering for years! so it’s okay that i did it” that’s foolishness. and dancing and drinking is not evil, but dancing in an evil way and for an evil reason is sin. and drinking to get drunk is sin because 1 corinthians 6 says “do you not know that the unrighteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God? be not deceived, drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

I think this exact thing all the time. Many of the decisions/mistakes these victims made, I've made myself, multiple times. My saving grace is that I've always been fortunate enough to have good people around me to keep an eye out for when I get too crazy. Even new acquaintances have looked out for me, as well as good samaritan strangers. I truly am thankful that nothing even remotely this horrible has come my way. I'm so glad I've changed my ways, because good luck doesn't last forever.

Don’t take it personally. Being autistic and depressed doesn’t also make you a sociopath/psychopath. I read a study years ago about serial killers and many of them would be considered on the spectrum by today’s standards. But autism doesn’t make a person inherently evil, with no self control.

The removal of her kidney reminds of Jack the Ripper. I think this guy was trying to live out some kind of sick fantasy. It takes an evil person to do something so gruesome. There's no rehabilitating someone that can murder and dismember another human being. He should never see the light of day. What's so scary and sad is seeing the video of her chatting friendly with him. She was completely unaware of what he was going to do to her. Then to see them getting rid of her body like she was nothing is just awful and chilling. That poor woman.

I think it's worthwhile saying, and I'm sure it's been said elsewhere, but there are many, many, many, people 'obsessed' with horror who are absolutely lovely people that wouldn't hurt a fly. The type of person who would actually murder someone would do so even if they weren't obsessed with horror.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm a horror fan and have been since I was a kid. I snuck and watched the original Friday the 13th and I was hooked at 5 yrs old lol. But I would never intentionally do anything to cause pain and suffering to another person, let alone kill them! And that's coming from a person who slept with a Chucky doll until going to college!

Sincerely thank you for always centering the victim, Mike. In the episode titles, the thumbnail, the way you tell the story, the decision to do that really shows in every video. It's best practice, but it's also just the right thing to do. Thank you!

I recently discovered that my great uncle murdered a man who'd broken into the house to rob them. Bashed his head in the floor and saved his Mother's life. Went to trial and the whole thing. He was up for murder in England! But thankfully he was not found guilty and the newspaper ran the pic of him and his Mum after the trial. Amazing!! RIP to your Mum's friend 🙏
