Lee Mack is a lovely man. Whilst on tour at the venue I work at, he heard about a local boy who needed funds for cancer treatment in the States and he donated the takings for the evening to him. Over £20k. The little boy sadly passed away and the next time he came he donated the takings to the 2 hospices who had cared for him. A truly kind and generous chap. His routine about Irish names is brilliant btw.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” guy is Mackenzie Crook, a British actor, who yes was the one eyed guy in the Pirates movies. He rose to fame in the British (and original) version of the Office alongside Ricky Gervais. Mackenzie played Gareth, the inspiration for Dwight in the US version.

Lee Mack has the reputation as one of the fastest wits in comedy. It's quite likely true. I think I appreciate David Mitchell's comedy a bit more, but I honestly think Lee is probably the superior comedian, just for his amazingly fast wit.

Yeah, Lee is the antidote to David's pedantic nature, they play so well off each other. Paul Merton and Charlie Higson get an honourable mention for quick wittedness though. Unfortunately they're not signed to Avalon so there's almost nothing of them on KZbin. It seems it's mostly Avalon content for the panel shows online.

If you watch enough British celebrity panel shows you'll realise that nobody much cares about points, or about who wins the game. Comedians are undoubtedly very competitive, but they generally consider winning to be getting the most laughs, or the biggest laughs. It's much better to lose the game by being funny than to win it in fact. Alan Davies on QI is the perfect example of that. His shtick is to always get the fewest points. The correct answer to "who's winning?" in a British game show is, "who cares?"

Lee Mac is so fast with his comedy. If you have not seen it, he has the (current) longest running british sitcom (almost 100 episodes and still going strong). One of my favourite programs of all time. "Not Going Out".

Lee Mack and David Mitchell are the two team captains on the show - David is also very funny and well worth a longer look, both on "Would I Lie to You" and other shows. And yes, Mackenzie Crook is the actor from Pirates of the Caribbean - he was a regular character in the British series of "The Office". Also, if you like Greg Davis, you should watch some episodes of the UK's strangest comedy game show, "Taskmaster".

Lee Mack is genuinely an amazing human being. David Mitchell and Lee Mack are the permanent team captains for would I lie to you as long as their contracts last or until one of them has some dirty laundry aired or skeletons in their closet come out or until one of them gets a better gig and moves on. Likewise, Jon Richardson and Sean Locke were permanent team captains on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown unless one of them went on tour. Until Sean's cancer hit him hard. Jon and Sean used to also be the team captains for regular 8 out of 10 Cats until Cats does Countdown became a regular thing then Rob Becket and... Someone else took over as team captains. 12:10 Nailed it. McKenzie Crook. He is most famous for playing Gareth in the UK Office. He’s from Bristol and has a strong Bristolian accent. A fair few pirates came out of Bristol, doubt they would have had the modern accent but still adds to the effect. Black Beard was from Bristol though. actress June Brown at the end there, she passed away less than a month back aged 95 so RIP June Brown (most famous for playing Dot Cotton in Eastenders, a long-running tv soap drama series) BTW they are judging if the statement is true. ie did he spot his gf cheating on him while he was on a trampoline. Every other the True or False story teller says can be lies, only that initially read out statement is in question as truth or lies. Not Going Out is a very good comedy series starring Lee Mack... The first series wasn't very good at all... But after several cast members were changed... From the second series onward's... There was a vast improvement in the overall quality of the comedy... I think the perfect introduction for you guys to Not Going Out... Would be the hour long Christmas Special episode... The Lake District is good for camping. We went on a school trip to measure pebbles in the waters, as you do, after a glacier has passed through 20,000 years ago. This is my first video of yours, I'll work my way through lol. Just wanted to say that I think the true/false question is basically 'Is the statement on the card true or false?' I think in the explanation after this they can totally lie, totally tell the truth, add the truth to lies, or add lies to the truth. Obviously if they know it's true they'd want to sound like they're lying and vice versa. Only the statement on the card has to be true or false. Lee Mack is not the funniest comedian that Britain has to offer (although he's up there), but he has the quickest mind. Bob Mortimer, Johhny Vegas and others he is not funnier than them but he is as quick or quicker than them. He is perfect in this game show because he is as quick as a fox with a watch. Watch 'Carrot in the Box' take three. Also, I forget now.

Carrot in a box should be a viral party game. Even though there were only a couple of goes filmed, I can watch them on repeat and still find it absolutely hilarious. Sean Lock just kills it!

David Mitchell was in a show called "Peep Show", Its a hilariously funny and cringeworthy 'first person' point of view of a sad middle aged man and his man child friend who live together. Great show you should check it out, the series is fantastic
