Fun fact: The audio of Mariah at the end is genuine. She was supposed to be the original vocals on Superman, and that audio is taken from their studio sessions together. Dina Ray, who ended up doing the vocals for Superman says it in an interview.

About the wire tapping thing. She knew she was being recorded which is not a for sure thing on a phone call. You don't have the expectation of being recorded so its different, voicemail you know you're being recorded. Now, as far as suing for defamation or slander, you can't sue if it's truth. Well you could I guess but you'd have a real bad lawyer giving bad advice. You wouldn't want to go into a court and try to prove an obvious lie-- she already knew Em had the proof. So all he'd have to do in court us prove he didn't lie. Then it's not defamation or slander. No good lawyer would let Mariah even try, knowing she'd be absolutely destroyed.

Eminem released this alfer obsessed and the voice on the released version of the song is not Mariah. The voice clips are from the studio session for superman where Mariah was supposed to be on but then they fell off and voicemails she sent him. Mariah actually responded to this on an interview and Em got pissed so he played the full voicemails in a concert in Detroit.
