Kobashi: So, I’ve got an idea for a new move. I’ll take a few TD 91’s and suplexes to the floor, in exchange if you wanna take it. Misawa: Sure. How bad could it be? 6:36: how bad it could be. SUPERB Collection mate. Thank you for the epic chapter. I hope they’ll be more puro headroom highlights down the road. You rock exceedingly, Ryan, me old mate.

Does anybody know why some Japanese Commentary always says "Tiga Driva" when it's a completely different move like in the first clip?
@ThunderFilez Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the announcer said "Tombstone Piledriver". It just sounds similar with the accents.
@kennythetrend3688 Жыл бұрын
@@ThunderFilez Ok, didn't hear it at first. I think he said "Pile" which I thought was "Tiga". But I swear there is other instances where they call other moves "Tiga Driva" when they aren't.

The Tiger Driver is the move where you lift a guy into a Sitout Powerbomb with the arms tied up. Tiger Driver ’91 drops them on their head instead. Tiger Suplex is a variation on the German.
@kennythetrend36886 ай бұрын
@@Jukeboksi I know that. I'm talking about whenever any other Powerbomb happens, it sounds like the Commentators call it a Tiger Driver.

Can you imagine if the WWE wrestlers of today went up against guys like Misawa, Kawada and Kobashi back then? None of them (the WWE guys) would've made it back to the states alive
@allmightguy6341 Жыл бұрын
i think the former indie guys could stand a chance though. Ricochet, Walter, El Generico, Kevin Steen, Donovan Dijak, Tommasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Tyler Black, Drew Galloway and Jordan Devlin. I think a younger Shinsuke Nakamura could also survive.

You're a liar. If you like Japanese wrestling more, then just say that. But there are plenty of people on the active roster that would do just fine against those legends. 😐

Many current WWE superstars and WWE Hall of Famers wrestled in Japan back then and in modern times. Hogan would legit wrestle when he would go to Japan.

Don't be that guy. Idiotic "us vs them" mentalities are one of the things that have ruined wrestling over and over. Take your tribalism and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Misawa DIED from a high angle backdrop that broke his neck, following a career of these head drops. They look cool, but lifes.have been destroyed by these types of bumps. Not worth it.
@ThunderFilez8 ай бұрын
Lifes have been taken by the simplest of moves as well. I agree that there is more risk to this style, but it is their choice to make. I wrestled this style for many years, and feel pain every day because of it. And I don't regret it one bit. Call me crazy, I call it a love for the game.
@Sienar78 ай бұрын
@@ThunderFilez I totally see your point. Said the same things too. But did Kawada really need to piledrive that guy with his head 2 inches below the safety of his thighs? Did that guy ask him to do that? Owen Hart accidentally did that to Steve Austin and Steve never really recovered from it.
@Sienar78 ай бұрын
To go against my own argument, it's possible that Kawada didn't mean to tune it quite that far. Accidents happen.
@ThunderFilez8 ай бұрын
@@Sienar7 I'm thinking that's more/less the case. I have yet to see him do this move again, so it very well could have been a one and done kind of thing.

@@ThunderFilezFair enough. Those kicks though. Don't think he's worked one in his life. I might be miss remembering, but I think he was once in the ring with young KENTA 20 years ago and... oh boy. 😳. (Best kickers of the 00's and the 90's together).

Add this type of style into the wwe storytelling and would probably elevate it much more. Japanese wrestling I love the heavy hitting and such but the storytelling is what lacks. Great respect to them though
