Quality engineering again. Every engineer that designs a specific part should be required to R&R the part from the fully assembled vehicle 100 times in a row. If that was the case, this headlight would be a 2 minute job.

my question is was the LED strip working before you took it apart? mine has condensation in passenger side and LED strip is not working...
@HouseDoctorRay2 жыл бұрын
Weird thing is my passenger side had no condensation but the board was corroded and the LED was out. Soldering the jumper wire fixed it. My driver side had a lot of water in it but everything worked. Go figure. If you follow the link to the forum where I found the fix it seems like the passenger side LED fails from corrosion.

Was your blinker not working as well due to the water being in there?
@HouseDoctorRay Жыл бұрын
No, only the white lights around the edge were out.

Nice video? What glue did you use put put them back
@HouseDoctorRay2 жыл бұрын
There is a link in the description or you could just use black silicone.

Couldn't you drill a very small hole in the plastic of the headlight to drain the water, put it in the oven to drive off the moisture, then seal the hole and other places that might leak? That would be so much easier than taking the whole headlight apart
@HouseDoctorRay2 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but I doubt all the moisture would come out of a single hole. Did you see all the aggravation just to remove the housing?

What did you use to glue it back?

There is a link in the video description. Napa probably has something in stock or you could try black silicone or RTV.

there should be a recall for this engineering failure.....QUALITY CONTROLL (NOT) GM needs to step up.....same damn thing happened to my suburban.....

Man, I’ve been watching video looking for the temperature. I should put my headlight in the oven thanks For helping me 170 such a great temp also I have a question heat-gun could help with a heartbeat I subscribe for your channel American GM cars are so good just need your hand on it simple to fix ❤
@HouseDoctorRay Жыл бұрын
Be careful with heat gun. The plastic can go from hot to a gooey mess very quickly. Practice on a piece of ABS pipe to get a feel for the heat gun.

Thanks for the perfect video description of why I won’t buy a GM product . Nice work though 👍

GM is actually super great, I've had 4 with over 300k miles on the stock motors and trans now, love them
@HouseDoctorRay Жыл бұрын
I doubt any of them are newer than 2015. I've got two GMCs in the driveway with over 150K. I'm not buying again until they work out their lifter and tranny issues.
