Dear Headset Advisor I own a Jabra evolve 75 first gen. I love the mic, noise cancelling and the wireless connectivity. However I own some devices that require a 3.5mm plug. So my question is: Is there a headset that has the same mic and sound qualities as the Jabra e75. But that can work as a wireless and wire in headphone? Thank you.

We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Great review! I've used the Evolve 65 & Evolve 75. Sound quality has always been good, but durability was the question mark. The 65 was prone to snap above the earpiece, making it impossible to wear. The 75 had improved sound; and was more durable, but eventually broke at the earpiece. I was able to fashion a workaround fix that allowed me to continue to use it for another year, but now it's almost impossible to charge the batteries anymore. The micro-USB connects are either worn out, or otherwise damaged. It only charges if I press on the male micro-USB lead very hard. I rely heavily on my headset for work. My Team is scattered across three continents; I have colleagues around the world; I need a mic that's clear for any presentations and training sessions that I conduct, as well as the IVR messages that I need to record for anyone who may call my Team for support. I highly recommend Jabra headsets for business. If they can put up with the abuse that I put them through, they ought to last most people longer through normal use. The only question now is: Do I go for the Evolve 2 75, or the Evolve 2 85? 🤔
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
Hi Mick, maybe neither and you go with a comparable model at the link below. @@HeadsetAdvisor Thanks, mate! I've honestly never been impressed with the mic quality of Orosound headsets. When stacked against their competitors, I notice a very _"tinny"_ sound to them, whereas the Jabra Evolve 2 65 & 75 have a much more natural/professional sound to them. I know that there are far superior headsets available than either of them, but unfortunately something akin to the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 isn't _"certified"_ for MS Teams, Skype for Business, or even Zoom... not because it doesn't work... or because the quality suffers... I have a set of Beyerdynamic MMX 300 that work fine. I just happen to work for a company that requires certification, in addition to minimum quality standards. I suspect that I'll be getting the Evolve 2 75. Not sure why the mic quality of the 85 is inferior to both the 65 & 75, but that's not as unusual as some _"upgraded"_ devices that I've used in my time. 🍷😋👍
@HeadsetAdvisor Жыл бұрын
@@MickPsyphon interesting to hear because we never hear the mic of Orosound referred to as “tinny”, but that’s what we found interesting about these videos. Great demo on background noise cancellation. I have Jabra Evolve2 65 which has been great headset so far and it is very comfortable even after using for extended hours. This newer version Evovle2 75 seems like has taken to another level. ANC has been added to Evolve2 75 even though Evovle2 65 does not have ANC, it stills blocks the noise. But Evolve2 75 seems like completely blocks the background noise when talking. Price point is high though. Jabra needs to make it more affordable. 200 USD would be a fair price for any headsets in such category.

We are several users of the Jabra Evolve2 75 at my company. We all have problem with the microphone performance. Suddenly it can just cut out, lowering the volume drastically making them more or less completely worthless. Jabra knows about the problem, but apart from downgrading the firmware from 1.8 to 1.7 they offer no solution to the problem. Shame. I have now reverted to a pair of Apple EarPods on USB C. For a fraction of the price of the Jabras they sound great and the microphone of the EarPods is insanely good.

There was only my voice O_o. Not even frequencies cut noticeably

Hi David/Headset Advisor, I've a few questions and I really need to understand this before making the purchase decision. I really hope you'd be kind enough to answer them. Here are my questions: 1) The UC & MS version, do they come with the same usb dongle? If not the dongle that comes with MS version, does that still work with any calling software/platform/website as long as you're accepting the call from PC? 2) With the MS version, if I am taking phone calls on a computer for zoom/google meet does the mute/anc buttons still work? 3) I primarily mainly work on a support environment, if I buy the MS version as 95% of times I take the phone calls on a browser based calling system such as Zendesk, will all of my options (volume,mute,anc) work on the headset similarly? (**I don't need to answer/end phone call from headset) 4) Does the MS version works 100% similarly with mobile devices when connected through bluetooth? Does the MS version have dual connectivity?
@HeadsetAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Both versions of the MS and UC are identical in features and connectivity. If you use a number of different apps you want to get the UC. If you only use Teams then you want the MS version. The short answer is if you strictly use Teams the headset is more plug and play without needing to download the Jabra direct software for features like answering calls in another room from the headset.

Thanks for the review David! Thanks!
@iosi20303 жыл бұрын
I was going to ask the same as your question 1). I don't mind the logo though. My reasoning is being able to customise for a range of systems/software on the UC including Teams, as my work uses whatever works best at the time. Currently we use Teams, but that could change.
@idlewild3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Same question! If price is the same and it only the Teams logo and pre configuration we are buying why wouldn’t you opt for the UC version??
@iosi20303 жыл бұрын
After watching this vid, I think it's perfectly fine going with UC if primarily using Teams. Teams offers a bonus button. If you can do without the "bonus" for Teams, then I think it's fine. All you lose out on with UC is a dedicated Teams button which brings up the app, being able to answer calls using button, and preconfigured settings optimised for Teams. My work laptop doesn't restrict whether I can download software so I'll be able to install Jabra Hub to configure UC settings. I rarely step away from my laptop when not on breaks so I'm happy to use my mouse to click away and answer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5K3m5KPbZ2meqc

Not sure why there is so much praise for the mic on the Evolve2 75! I have the Evolve2 40 and just got myself the 75. Bottomline, I will be returning the Evolve2 75, because the mic quality compared to the 40 doesn't even compare. More specifically, I have to speak relatively loudly in order for the mic on the 75 to pick up my voice; otherwise I sound very faded, if at all. On the other hand, I can whisper when using the 40 and my voice will still be picked up and relayed very clearly. By doing a quick research, I have found that there are tons of people suffering from the same issues! Update: Just got the Evolve2 65. The mic is on par with the Evolve2 40. In my honest opinion, the Evolve2 40/65 are much better than the 75 when it comes to mic quality. They might be lacking slightly in terms of noise cancelling, but it feels like it is too aggressive on the 75 anyway, which is why it was struggling to pick up my voice. Nowadays, all communication platforms (e.g. Teams, Zoom, Discord) have noise cancelling built-in anyway. Even if/when this is not the case, one can use NVIDIA Broadcast (or similar).

Looks like the mic on the headset itself is almost unusable. What do you think? 2. Here is a comment taken from Amazon from the Jabra Evolve2 85, did you experience something similar? A college of me has reported something similar with his 85s. This is the main reason I haven't got the 85s and was waiting for something that doesn't have this issue: "Where this falls short is the PC Audio link. there's a 2 second delay any time an audio stream is interrupted... so if you do video editing, any time you have a cut in your stream, you cannot hear the first 2 seconds of the next clip. I've contacted the manufacturer to see if they have a solution (force active audio connection for PC Audio, or extend delay before connection is dropped).. they say no"
@HeadsetAdvisor2 жыл бұрын
We found the same thing with the mic boom up, less than ideal mic sound quality. Also, yes the audio delay is common on most Bluetooth headsets with the USB adapter but usually it's under 1 second. Otherwise, you can leave the headset turned on and keep the link established and you won't deal with any delay.
@Thorz742 жыл бұрын
@@HeadsetAdvisor Thanks for answering. I understand that if the headset goes into "sleep" mode there is a small delay when reconnecting, this is normal and acceptable. I guess that this Jabra goes to sleep after a reasonable period of time and not like let's say 2 minutes or something short like that? If I understand correctly, you didn't experience this as an issue that can take away points from the Evolve2 75. Do you think that the general performance of this Evolve2 75 outperforms the Evolve2 85? Thank you!

Hello. Thank you for the video! It helps me to consider to get a new one. I have a few points I would like to ask. 1. Is it possible to keep using evolve2 75 charging by USB cable when the battery is low? 2. Is USB dongle the must-item to connect? Or is it just for the laptop which doesn’t have Bluetooth function? 3. Is it possible to physically connect by USB cable to use when Bluetooth doesn’t work? (My laptop sometimes doesn’t recognize Bluetooth items.) Thank you in advance!

Also, how is the handling noise rejection when moving the boom up and down? Do you hear a lot of thumping noise when touching it?

Guys, an issue you usually do not cover in your headset presentation. The diameter of the headband!!! I just got the Jabra Evolve2 75. I can literally put a fat eraser between the top of my head and the headset band squeezed to its minimum!!!! This was designed for a male 6' tall. Your personal opinion, do you prefer these over the Yealink WH66?
@HeadsetAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua, that’s a hard one to answer because both are designed for two different types of needs. If you want to be more mobile in and out of the office for example, the Jabras the way to go because it doesn’t need a charging base for it to work. If you’re mainly in the office and want an all in one USB hub, speakerphone and wireless headset with long wireless range, the Yealinks the way to go. Both have comparable noise canceling microphones but we think the edge on voice quality goes to Jabra, and Jabra has better speaker noise cancellation + a lot longer battery life. Either way you go, you can’t go wrong.
