I think Cole’s most significant point is actively becoming advocates of our own bodies and being aware of what we put into it. (The disclaimer is when companies purposefully fail to disclose ingredients and health risks). But some people really do just want a quick fix. If you want long lasting change, it helps to actively take responsibility of your body by working out, and eating healthier. And that’s just a fact that some people don’t want to hear.

I'm the same age as Chris, so things are starting to change for me. I was doing keto & my cholesterol was fine, but I had a crisis of conscience and I became a vegetarian about 14 months ago. However, because I don't like vegetables, I've basically been eating huge amounts of carbs this entire time. I got my blood test results back last week, & for the first time in my life I have high cholesterol. I've also gained a HUGE amount of weight. This episode was very timely for me. THANK YOU!

Totally in agreement with what was said each individual is different in body and traits so there's no one size fits all, each person has to do the math and figure out for themselves where they're most comfortable with, and with help they can be comfortably healthy. Truly enjoyed the conversation. 🤝🙏

😂In my 20s I got off the boat in Australia, wanting to grab lunch with my fellow sailors, but nothing was open. The local aborigines explained that it was because of Siesta🎉. We as young ‘Americans’ had never heard of this phenomenon. It blew our minds. ‼️ We left hungry, but came back after Siesta ‘Awe inspired’. Yaaaaaaas! 😉

As an education major when I was in college, I never had to take human physiology. But in my career of teaching foods, the one thing that I have studied the most is how food affects the body. Hypocrites quote, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be the food" is so true. Fixing your gut and your diet lets you fix a lot of what ails you. I cut out sugar and bad carbs and lost 10 lbs without even trying. I'm way less bloated than I used to be. And I'm on track of my goal weight by my 60th birthday in September. (Pre babies weight of 122 lbs) Have a great day Chris. Enjoying your podcast and I watch you every night. 👍

At night try to slice a banana, put in a saucepan, pour boiled water over , enough to end with a mug of liquid. Let boil for 15 minutes. This is helping to restore your intestinal lining. You might need six months to restore the walls if you have any issues. It is also said that grass fed beef’s bone marrow… also boiled… is doing the same effect. The health of the guts is the lining of the walls… and what we eat destroys it, heals it or cares for it… I started to study all the nutrition & health in 1989, so sick I was every time I was eating…. I had to eliminate a lot in order to survive all the symptoms. True Dr Cole! As soon as I would go in Europe, all the food interdits, became okay again. The differences in food industry is part of the culture differences…. In Europe 🇫🇷🇮🇹…. Eating is the culture… we can spend hours at the table… it is part of the quality of life…. Even if there too, it has changed a bit…🇫🇷🇺🇸 There is no perfect world, fortunately….it would be boring. It is all up to us to take charge of ourselves.

Chris,. . .carbs are not bad for you. Potatoes are good, bread is good, rice is good. Acclimating your body to those foods, and then suddenly taking them away is not good. You may be confusing your body! And You may certainly be robbing your body of the necessary energy it needs by drastically cutting your carbs. Maybe ask yourself these questions. . .How much carbs do you take in daily, how often and what are you eating your carbs with, vegetables and water, or heavy meat and alcohol? Take a deep dive into your diet with a nutritionist, you may find some missing puzzle pieces. Good luck to you and your health!

Great subject as I have found out that I am sensitive and allergic to a lot of fruits and vegetables. I'm reading books on the digestive system and now I am seeing a G.I. doctor. One of the books that I am reading not only addresses how we should eat, but how fruit and vegetables are harvest and brought to market. Which, according to this doctor is causing more problems then we realize. Mainly, because of a protein called Lectin because of early harvesting and marketing in the United States.

Well, your conversation with Dr. Cole was mind numbing. I remember the day when women hated it when men had to fix everything, why couldn't they just listen and talk with us? There was a reason the men I knew always liked to have a party with a garage hangout for the men, while we women jumped around to music by the pool, but there are times you should accept, Eph. 5:21, a woman can dumb it down too. Here is what I visualized while you got into the details of LDLs and drugs: One man was Jonathan dipping his walking stick into your cerebellum which King Saul said was against the rules, and another man or woman or transgender, this is a free country, was stroking your lacteals. Look up lacteals and where they can be found in your digestive system and you'll begin to see how difficult this argument of hormone replacement is if you also want to be empowered by the first universal principle of health care ethics called, autonomy and self-determination.

I survived, but will you? Dr. Cole was a pleasant surprise, much like hearing a mental health worker here on KRDO talking real in preparation for 4th of July in a city with 5 military basis and retired personnel who have gone to war. We need more straight talk and our health care professionals do have a wealth of knowledge and not enough empathy for what has been asked of them. Imagine, truly, what it must be like for them to be threatened with all livelihood if they do not allow a child to take gender affirming medicines to change who they are and who many people may like as they are, knowing even as little as I do on how the body works? What about their rights, their pain and suffering from the overbearing parents who have convinced their children to hate themselves so mommy and daddy don't lose their jobs. What does it teach children when it's okay for a doctor to lose their job and family, but not okay for their family to be equitably torn asunder? No, I will never stop saying my piece only get better at it with the Lord's help.

Interesting since I have followed this kind of theory proably since before he (Cole) was born. However at 73 yo, wieght issues are increasing with a lower intake of carbs and a higher activity rate. Every BODY is different. Every LIFE is different. No two people can follow the same regime. Asprin/acetylcalic acid as a pain reliever in the 50'-60's is the bane of my life. Ruined my gut to this day. The adrenaline that hits the gut is a good thing and still works. Thank you for the openness you provide for the rest of us less than famous people.

I'm treating this as a group think session, which I tend to do when you mention ideas such as "How do we bring this to the general public?" I am writing these notes so you can better make your decision on if to create a subscribers pocket, and when you might want to take some of those coins you save up to give to the general public for a vote or beta test case. Already these are the thoughts on how to bring it to the general public: 1) Without getting too technical, you must, in my opinion, respect the First Amendment and not expect those you ask the opinion of to accept your God. I am on the record for telling people congratulations after accepting Christ that they better put their boots on because the work is just about to begin and it will be relentless. John 8:31-32. Foundation, is my point here and it is not your reponsibility to build it for them, it would be like pulling a butterfuly out of their cucoon and I can tell you there are at least two organs of the body in the systems your Dr. Cole has mentioned that are shaped like butterflies: Grey matter in your spinal cord, and your thyroid gland of the endocrine system. 2) Money came to mind and I am so glad you brought up siestas. When I traveled to Italy in or around 2008 they were still taking their afternoon breaks. I needed them for as much food as I was eating maintaining an American schedule on Italy time. Here is where we could have some real debates on religion and tie it back to the body is your temple, 1 Cor. 6:12-20, by simply teaching the basics of the autonomic nervous system which has two branches. My only warning to you is John 15, if you take the level of detail too far from the vine the lesson will be lost, people will drown, and lesson one of a lifeguard is to not save a violent drowning victim. You kick them off, let them tire out a little and then go back in when you can get them in a safe hold and swim them back to the edge.

The word wellness was invented to overcome the demands that come with using the word health in marketing, which needs enough research to be allowed to. But, since we don't always have Western clinical studies for everything, such as Qigong that is based on Chinese Medicine, wellness needs to be used instead to describe it, while this is being developed such as studies of the results of Acupuncture. Functional food is used to describe food items or ingredients that has been proven beneficial for your health, such as Acidophilus. Our stomach holds the immune system, which is why we so easily react with it. According to Chinese Medicine, our stomach is also our energy center. Personally, I've simply succumbed to using symptom lessening medicine, such as antihistamines and loperamide, and avoid all lactose and gluten. When my stomach is calmer, so I too become.

Obesity, I just learned after finishing the digestive system last week is best started by the use of whole grains rather than fruits or vegetables. This means to NOT go gluten free which by my experience is more about politics and enters into the race argument, instead of heart health and weight loss. Gluten intolerance can be debilitating, but as I also learned, and know from experience, any childhood allergy can be overcome by slow and steady behavioral changes reflected in your daily routine. My answer to your carbs question is the following: I agree that I think it has to do with your calorie burn, but carbs start being digested once they enter your mouth; proteins and fats must be worked throughout the entire digestive system. Again, carbs are digested to their simplest forms in the mouth and the stomach, where the energy, heat, and WATER that is used in cellular respiration can be immediately utilized. Water is a big deal for pooping, and people don't drink near enough pure water. As for following your gut, as the good doctor told you, I want you to consider the autonomic nervous system with its two branches of sympathetic (which is motor driven) and parasympathetic (which is sense driven, to keep it simple) the bible verse 2 Cor. 6:7. Know your defense, everybody poops and those who can't are the ones who need to take some serious introspection before casting any stones. Know your where you are righteous, everybody needs food, and if you don't, I can assure you any body will die no matter the color or axis on which they are viewed. Begin with the everything in between that needs work, by training your Matthew 5:33-37. No more will someone accuse me of leaving the counseling up to some licensed professional who doesn't know how to stay within their scope of practice.

I accepted the challenge of this video, I consider you a brother in the fight with Christ but I do not know where He may ask you to take a different path so we are at our best for his calling, respectively. I send you this warning because while I will not enslave myself to the concept of ether in our atmosphere taking influence more out of choice than of fact with too many people (idol worship, i.e. money), I cannot be blind to it either. So, as I pray for my 12-year old, I pray for you that you keep a good space between those ears of yours and remember who is the boss. I pray you chose Jesus Christ as your Master, because God has no favorites. I've got two side holsters with the safety unbuttoned but I will do my best to not bring what I know about "gut feelings" and medical science against you with both barrels.

All the “get everything with limited effort” is the American culture, this is the culture that the world has been envying for decades. French thought that Americans were so cool to have lunch while having a meeting in business or else… Later after the depression, when came the industrialization… cool cars… modernism…etc…America has been building that image which all Countries dreamed of or wanted to imitate. But the one & only leitmotiv ended to be to make money, money & more money….and that has put in the back all the other values that Americans & immigrants had. The materialistic life was very appealing & became predominant. And in 2023 the data are no longer the same, and so much more should go now into the equation. …And… we are seeing the consequences of the passed easy living decades. Excesses, in all fields, are always proven to be wrong after the facts. The excess I have shared since I live here, is to get a physical & mental health with the magical pill. The pink pill to be happy all the time…!… even buying happiness is a nonsense. Life has its lows & highs & we have to accept it. Nothing wrong. It builds strength. European are still more prompt to live their life based on their history’s memories which cannot be forgotten, even if American’s trends & doings go abroad towards Europe regularly & have been since always. Europeans are proud of it too.🇫🇷🇺🇸

Leptin. One thing that is good about the truth setting you free and accepting Christ is Matthew 10:16-42. Already I got chastised by some brainwashed child on a KRDO post I made defending a Castle Rock bus driver that brake checked his kids. He could go to prison, while I told society to wake up and smell their inflation rate. I got an answer of "wrong," but I know I'm right. Anyway, here is a brake check for you because already I can see all the people who self-mutilate for "the truth" that no one will tell them plainly, salivating over this little factoid Dr. Cole lead with Leptin. Leptin is necessary in the simplest of mindsets to ensure for your survival in times of starvation. Your body uses sugar, your Central Nervous System only uses sugar and cellular respiration requires glucose to make energy and heat, i.e. homeostasis. But what you eat isn't all sugar, it's proteins and fats too. Leptin helps the various organs of the body break down protein into fat and sugar and stores it in places like your liver. Why drinking can become a problem with a fatty liver, it cannot function like oil and water don't mix. So, what Dr. Cole told me is what we already know but have been unsuccessful in changing the behaviors of our people, is over eating. You start messing with the bodies ability to convert proteins to fats, you get your guest the other night on News Nation who by my observation with an LGBTQ smart aleck flapping their jaws over my shoulder, is only "needing a good lay." She better hope she doesn't get enough offers of sex to burn off those calories because those of us living in the underbelly of The fat Man know better than what she was striving to achieve. Work managment Better diet Encourage daily exercise, even every two hours a break from the computer to stretch and do 10 squats will burn calories and strengthen the back. etc.
