Master Yip is a blessing for all of us who teach T'ai Chi & Qigong. Her form and technique are extraordinary and she has been the foundation of what is taught in many of my classes. These videos help immeasurably to assist students in refining their Qigong. Most grateful for her generous gift to all of us.

I saw a variation of the 8th brocade (bouncing on heels), where the legs are a foot or so apart. Are the feet supposed to be together, how is it?
@DeyinTaiChiQigong2 жыл бұрын
This version of the Ba Duan jin has feet together at the 8th posture. hope this help
@tomasaguirre17642 жыл бұрын
@@DeyinTaiChiQigong Feet together seems to be the 'orthodox' method. It's a pity one can't see Faye's exact feet-position, because in another version the ankles are together and feet slightly angled out, which I cannot tell if she is doing or not. I wish I could READ somewhere the proper method, because, watching all these 'Bouncing On Toes' videos, I still can't quite gauge the exact feet-positioning.. Perhaps at the end of the day, whether they be together, or angled out, or hips-width, or a couple of inches apart, it doesn't much matter. .

It's a fine video but there is no instruction for the breathing? Except at the very beginning, when it says breathe naturally. I thought in-breath and out-breath were synchronized with the movements?
@laufmi3 жыл бұрын
Best not to be too concerned about the breath when first learning a form. Just follow what feels natural. However seeing several comments like yours, I posted a video of a similar version of baduanjin with basic breathing instructions if you are interested.( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqucaoSuYr5ppMU ) No guarantees there will be universal agreement, which may be why you seldom get specific instructions. Do what feels right for you!
