A note on medications since you'll be in the hospital, they might not let you take your own medicine unless you disclose it ahead of time. If they're giving you meds there might be interactions between meds that could be bad.

I really suggest baby hats because in the hospital they have the AC on to cold sometimes and babies loose heat through there head. And they look cute on mama’s choices anyway.

I hope you read this comment, and I'm sure you've done your research, but I wouldn't use the peppermint after the baby is born, even for headaches because it can cause your milk to dry up. It is actually a recommended oil to reduce milk production. FYI I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant with my third and I love watching all your vlogs since I've been following your channel for a long time. Congrats on the baby girl 🥰

I'm done having babies but I'm excited for you and love seeing what you picked out for your baby girl. I'd definitely suggest a good nursing bra. Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery!

Hey lady! I know this is an older video but I’m currently 33w pregnant and came across your video and thought I would throw in something in relation to the acupressure mat! I actually have one I used to use religiously before pregnancy but on the original acupressure mat (shakti) website it says specifically not to use when pregnant. I sought advice from a physio and they suggested definitely not to use it on the lower back at all through pregnancy because it can induce labour. They said to make sure the lower back wasn’t on the mat at all and just to use it from mid back upwards. Just thought I’d add that incase someone goes out to get one! :)

You will need nursery bras your breast need the space(The sports bra can cut off the circulation to the underarm nodes and clog the milk in the armpits in a matter of minutes. It's hard to dissolve them and it's because of the bra, I don't recommend it ...). A full packet of nappies (the baby will need to be changed every time you'll feed her so minimun 8 nappies per day). Baby clothes that open on both legs (when the baby is so small is easier to change). The baby light you got on the baby shower will help you at night feeds (low light don't wake up enterely, so you will sleep best) hospital light's can wake your baby when a nurse comes.

It would also be a good idea to ask the hospital first. Here in the US, at least where I have delivered before, they don't let you take your own medicine or supplements because they need to know exactly everything you are given. That has been my prior experience, so it would be good to check.

Between the nurses in and out and feeding and changing they really do not wear clothes at least for the first day or so. Probably will be fine in the swaddle. Hoping everything goes well and is fast .... You need to prepare for 2-3 days for a natural birth, 1 week (5-7 days) for a cesarean you could start ok but need an emergency cesarean section. These are the usual stay times after a hospital delivery.

I actually liked the hospital gown it was very comfy...I wanted to take it home 😂 I barely used the stuff I took in my bag. My hospital pretty much supplied anything we needed. We are in Canada as well 😊 Also for my partner her brought some comfy clothes and headphones. I didn't bring any makeup, didn't have time and honestly didn't think about it. I just used the peri bottle from the hospital and it works good. The mesh underwear from my hosptial was 👌👌👌I took some home with me and was sad when I ran out. It will all go by so fast! The nipple soreness is because of baby learning to latch, has nothing to do with your milk coming in. They will be sore! Buy nursing bras asap the sports bras may restrict milk flow and may cause clogged ducts. Sleep nursing bras or tanks are the most comfortable in the first week postpartum. Best of luck to you! Can't wait to meet baby acorn.

So my original due date was a day after yours. Well....baby had other plans and decided to come early. He was born 9/26. 6 weeks early! Thankfully he didn’t have any issues and we only had to spend a week in the NICU. Unfortunately we didn’t have any of our bags packed before I went into labor. (Planned on doing that the next day.) I had a list of things I wanted to bring so I looked at that and only grabbed the essentials. Honestly the hospital provides all the necessities, everything else is just nice to have.

For future, I’m going to pack early and I’ll be coming back take reference this video. The only thing in my bag I had was my toiletries and clothes. I didn’t get to pack anything else. You will definitely want to have a stool softener. They will probably give you one in the hospital too. I would recommend taking zipper sleepers rather than shirt and pant outfits for the baby, as it is just so much easier. In the hospital here (in Calgary, Alberta), they actually don’t dress the baby in clothes at all and just swaddle them in a diaper with two of the hospital swaddle blankets (of course you can use your own blankets if you want). You will be feeding the baby every 2-2.5 hours in the beginning, and will undress them each time for skin to skin anyway, so it honestly is easier while you are at the hospital to just swaddle the baby without clothes. I had a c-section with both of my babies, so my recovery process was slightly different to what yours will be, but I have heard from friends that you will need the Frida baby spray bottle because you will not be able to wipe yourself with toilet paper after giving birth, so that is what you use to clean yourself up after going to the toilet for the first while. Also, here, you need to bring extra diapers, as they give you some to start off with, but once you finish those, you have to use your own. I would also highly recommend bringing nursing bras to the hospital. For a first time mom, you have not overpacked as much as most moms (including myself when I was there) do!

I never comment, but ..... sore breasts?? Oh yes! I swear by coconut oil to relieve any pain, chapped skin, or worse. The lanolin would stick to my bra or pads and cause even more pain. Of course everyone's body is different, but that really helped me get through breastfeeding with baby #2 and I felt more safe using something natural. And...an incredible lactation nurse if you need it. Saved me from giving up 👍 So exciting!

Also, (I live in Spain, so wear with me the diferences) It's posible for the breast milk to came 2 days later on a natural birthing up to a week on a cesarean one. So in Spain is recomended to study maternity milk brands to chose what you prefer. Also is recomended a bib (It need to have the smaller hole posible if you want to breastfeed later) When you are in the hospital and your baby is cry hungry for days you will buy in the first store what they have, not what you study and select

This is such a great point! We actually ordered in a box of the goat milk formula from the German brand Halle as it looked great and had a lot of good reviews. I couldn’t agree more the ones available on the market are mostly packed with a lot of crap. @@HealthNutNutrition please don't worry about milk not coming in for 2-5 days post birth!!!! Baby will be absolutely fine with colostrum. If you introduce formula so early your milk may never come in fully because your body only produces as much as baby suckles, i.e. if baby is full on formula it won't suckle strongly on breast and therefore your body will not know to produce enough!!

@@AC-iw5mv True, AC but in some cases because the mother can't breastfeed directly or because the baby needs more than what you produce The baby can be feed with a bib (with the smaller hole posible so they don't lost the sucle reflex) during a time and then retourn to the breast. At the same period of time the mother use a suctioner to activate the milk production or to take the milk if the areola of the breast is bleeding or injured

Everyone told me not to get newborn things cause my husband was a HUGE baby. Well, she ended up coming 3 and a half weeks early and was 5 lbs 9 oz when she came home and we had to panic buy premie and newborn clothes.

You may also want some tucks/witch hazel pads. You will be extremely sore in the “lady area”. You can literally just stick them in your undies for soothing. You will probably be constipated after baby even if you don’t don’t use any medication at the hospital. They don’t want you to strain to “poo” bc you may rip or tear your stitches but believe me you will want to poo after the baby arrives.

I bought my friend the freida baby version and she said they were really good, they are long so you don't have to layer like tucks and are more convenient.

In the US, hospitals will not let you wear shoes or slippers - only the socks they give you with non-stick bottoms.

This may depend on the hospital. I delivered all 3 of my babies at the same hospital in Texas and they recommended I bring my own sandals/slippers while I walked around the postpartum floor.

@@yixelmaxfield2457 Interesting. When I had back surgery in DC, they wouldn’t let me wear my new slippers. Same when I had a brain aneurysm last year. Maybe because I was a fall risk.

You will need the nipple cream!! I brought my own as well and they were still soooo sore my doctor had to prescribe me something because they were getting dry and cracking but didn’t last long once we both figured out what we were doing the pain went away! Also I wouldn’t worry about bringing too many diapers (unless you have a specific kind you want her to use) the hospital will provide you with what you need and hey if you get them for free why not lol atleast they did here in Alberta :) good luck I keep checking everyday on your stories to see if there is any update or any hints that your going into labour! Praying for a healthy baby and mama

Breastfeeding can hurt very bad for about the first week but stick with it! Breast milk is the very best thing for a baby. It is so worth it for not only the baby's nutrition but also that amazing bond. I loved breastfeeding. I used the nipple cream made by Medela during those first few painful days. Don't worry, your nipples will get used to it.

I know my hospital and doctors didn't recommend essential oils nor did they allow me to use my own Tylenol. I also wasn't allowed to use my own water bottle, they encouraged me to use paper cups. You'll be living I'm your bath robe until you legit are discharged you don't need makeup as your so tired and in pain you won't need half the shit you bring. The less stuff the better plus with covid you cannot bring too many things as they don't want that much stuff brought into the hospital during this time. I brought pajamas and didn't even wear them cause I couldn't even lift my legs to get pants on I was in so much pain also had tons of stitches. I had to pee in the shower since I couldn't sit on the toilet it was bad. But good luck!
