I live in a light blue suburban region. My own neighborhood is light red. I put up a Harris sign and a sign for our Democratic Congressional candidate. I'm the only one. I do worry that someone will vandalize our property. The first day I put the sign up, I went to run an errand and left my kids at home with only a teen in charge. I worried for their safety.

You don’t have to pay for the signs. They’re provided by the campaigns and they’ve always been free. Campaign volunteers used to knock on doors asking if they could put a sign in your yard. Maybe they still do that in many places but I know signs are usually available for people to pick up at local campaign offices. Except in this county, obviously. ✌🏼💙🇺🇸

I think "half" might be a stretch. I believe only approximately half of the population actually votes or cares about politics, and then only half of that half. My rough estimate would be about a quarter of the population, but a hefty amount of that quarter are in some form of law enforcement.

Yeah its not 1 sided buddy. There are videos of people vandalizing Trump signs and cars with Trump stickers. Theres even a video of, I believe it was a congressman, who keyed a car that had a "Biden Sucks" sticker on it. He was later arrested by police and charged with vandalism.

My Parents put a Biden - Harris sign in our yard back in 2020. Two days later, some Trump lover knocked it down and spray painted it. I just never understood why someone can turn crazy just because you support a different person than them.
