At 60, I first fell in love with Led Zeppelin when I was 6. My oldest brother played Whole Lotta Love… on vinyl. I was moved, and a rock fan was born. Through adolescence, Heart… and so many others moved me. Music makes you feel. When I see Ann & Nancy perform, especially with Jason… I can’t help but tear up. Our generation has the best music.

Including LZ. Frankly part of the time I like Heart's covers of LZ more than I like a live performance of LZ, that is once you get past their Song Remains the Same tour. The tour they did after releasing Houses of the Holy was magical, especially when they played "Since I've Been Loving You", but after that Plant's voice was struggling too much, Page was on drugs and Bonham was often drunk and it didn't go so well.

The first concert I ever saw was Heart in San Antonio 1978. Annie and Nancy are still showing how it's done. The part of Kashmir when the melody transitions; "All I see turns to brown" has made me close my eyes for 43 years. And this rendition is no different. Thank you for sharing this. Peace to everyone.

"A new interpretation" ?????? Let me tell ya something: I've been performing this song for decades, both playing guitar and singing it at the same time. I've always been a perfectionist, and I'm here to tell you they performed this song EXACTLY like the original studio album version by Zeppelin. Every instrument hit every note & nuance exactly like it was originally recorded. Of course Ann improvised some of the vocals, but VERY little.

Seen 'em live 4 times. First time at the first Portland Jam (OR) in 1977. I was just in junior high school. My first rock concert. I still remember this drunk guy puking into a trash can I was sitting near. Several bands played with Heart closing out the show. Fun memories. 😉

I know ya posted your comment here over 10 years ago.....but what do you expect..........there are SEVEN band members performing it: THREE guitar players, bass PLUS a keyboard player, Jason on the drums, and Ann singing, that's a total of 7. The original Zeppelin lineup was only 4. But I do agree, they kicked total ass on this song. It's the best cover of a Zeppelin song that Ann & Nancy ever did........barr none.
