Yes a lot of dreary rain and I will not catch up with my growing grass this summer, but it is keeping the heat down. Very unusual July where we are.

As always another great video. I do have a question for you, in Dianne Thompson book on making box’s, on a compound cut of the knobs which do you cut first, the front view or the top view thank you.

Thank you. On compound cuts I always try to determine if one side is more difficult to cut than the other. That can be a lot of factors usually the thickness and type of material and how complex the pattern is. I try to cut the side that is less difficult first so that the second cut has a little less material to cut through. Sometimes you can possibly remove some of the waste from the first cut if it will hold together properly. Usually though on the knobs in that book I cut the front view if it is a fairly simple cut. No real reason, that is just where I start. Sometimes I do things a certain way and don't analyze it until someone asks about it. Just a feel I guess. But questions make me think about why I do what I do and I think that makes me a little bit better. Thanks.
